Before Operating Blower

1. READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE OPERATING Blower.

WARNING

Read and follow all warnings and safety instructions. Failure to do so can result in serious injury to you or bystanders.

2. Avoid Dangerous Environments

a. Do not operate Blower while under the influence of alcohol, medications, or drugs.

b. Do not operate Blower when you are tired.

c. Do not use this Blower if you are mentally or physically unable to operate safely.

3. Inspect Blower for damaged parts, and make sure all fasteners and guards are in place and secure. Replace any

damaged parts.

4. Dress properly when operating Blower.

a. Always wear heavy long pants, boots, gloves, and a long-sleeve shirt.

b. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that can get caught in the rotating parts of the Blower.

c. Always wear gloves and substantial foot wear when working outside.

d. Always wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.

5. Always wear a face or dust mask if operation is dusty.

6. Always wear eye protection that meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI Z87.1.

7. Always wear hearing protection which meets or exceeds ANSI standards.

8. Throughly inspect the area where the Blower is to be used and use rakes and booms to loosen debris before use.

While Operating Blower

1. Stay alert. Use common sense. Watch what you are doing.

2. Do not operate Blower if it is damaged or not securely and fully assembled.

3. Only well instructed adults should operate Blower. Never allow children to operate Blower.

4. Keep children away. Keep all bystanders at least 50 feet (15 meters) away.

5. Do not point the Blower nozzle in the direction of people or pets.

6. Use only for jobs explained in this manual. Do not use Blower for any job except that for which it is intended.

7. Maintain your balance and proper footing at all times. Do not overreach.

8. Always keep engine on the right hand side of your body.

9. Do not force Blower. It will do the job better and with less likelihood of a risk of injury at the rate for which it was

designed.

10. Never start or run the unit inside a closed room or building; breathing exhaust fumes can kill.

While Operating Blower

CAUTION

Prolonged exposure to vibrations through use of gasoline powered hand tools could cause blood vessel or nerve damage

in fingers, hands, and joints of people prone to circulation disorders or abnormal swellings. Extensive use in cold weather

has been linked to blood vessel damage in otherwise healthy people. If symptoms occur such as numbness, pain, loss of

strength, change in skin color or texture, or loss of feeling in the fingers, hands, or joints, discontinue the use of this tool and

seek medical attention.

Fuel Safety

1. Mix and pour fuel outdoors WHERE THERE ARE NO SPARKS OR FLAMES.

2. Use a container approved for gasoline.

3. Do not smoke or allow smoking near fuel or the Blower.

4. Avoid spilling fuel or oil. Wipe up all fuel spills and let the unit dry before using.

5. Move at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from fueling site before starting engine.

6. Stop engine and allow to cool before removing fuel cap. Remove fuel cap slowly. Do not refuel a hot engine. Do not

refuel a running engine.

Maintenance & Storage of Blower

WARNING

1. Stop the engine, and disconnect the spark plug before performing maintenance.

2. Maintain Blower with care. Inspect Blower periodically. If Blower is not working properly or damaged, have it repaired

by a qualified service center.

3. Check for misalignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, broken parts, mounting, and any other condition

that may affect its operation.

4. Keep guards in place and in working order.

5. A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified service center.

6. Use only genuine AirSTREAM® replacement parts and accessories. Use of any non-AirSTREAM® parts or

accessories could lead to injury, damage to the unit, and will void your warranty.

7. Do not remove or modify any parts. Removing or modifying parts could lead to injury, damage the Blower, and will

void the warranty.

8. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.

9. Allow engine to cool and empty the fuel tank before storing or transporting in vehicle. Use up remaining fuel in the

carburetor by starting the engine and letting it run until it stops.

10. When not in use, store Blower indoors in a dry location. Store Blower above the reach of children or in a locked area

out of the reach of children.

11. Store unit and fuel in area where fuel vapors cannot reach sparks or open flames from water heaters, electric motors

or switches, furnaces, etc.

WARNING

Blower tube installation affects both Blower balance and

performance. The tube and nozzle must be installed

correctly.

Never use the Blower without the upper tube and the

nozzles correctly fitted to the Blower.

WARNING

Rotating impeller blades can cause sever injury! Stop the

engine before installing or removing the Blower tubes.

Never perform any maintenance or assembly procedures

on this Blower while the engine is running.

1. Align the arrow on the upper tube with the arrow on the

nozzle tube. (Fig. 2 ).

2. Slide the nozzle tube to the upper tube.

3. Turn the nozzle tube clockwise until a click is reached to

secure the nozzle tube to the upper tube. (Fig. 3)

4. Align the arrow on the upper tube with the arrow on the

Blower outlet. (Fig.4)

5. Slide the upper tube to the Blower outlet.

6. Turn the upper tube clockwise until a click is reached to

secure the upper tube to the Blower outlet. (Fig.5)

Note: Position tube so that engraved writing “This Side

Up” is in an upward position. (Fig. 6)

7. Tighten the screw, until the tube is secure. (Fig.7)

Operation

Starting Engine:

WARNING

You MUST make sure the tubes are secure before using

the unit.

Cold Starting The Engine

1. Place the Blower on a flat surface.

2. Move the Ignition Switch to the “ON” position (Fig. 8)

3. Move the Choke Lever upwards to the “COLD START”

position (Fig. 9).

4. Press the Primer Bulb slowly 6 times (see Fig. 10).

5. Pull the recoil starter handle sharply until the engine

starts and runs (Fig. 11)

6. After engine starts and runs for 10-15 seconds, move

Choke Lever to “RUN/WARM START” position.

Warm Starting The Engine

1. Place the Blower on a flat surface.

2. Move the Ignition Switch to the “ON” position (see Fig. 8)

3. With the Choke Lever in the “RUN/WARM START”

position, pull the Recoil Starter Handle sharply until the

engine starts and runs.

COLD START

RUN/WARM START

1. Release the Throttle Lever and allow the engine to idle for a few moments.

2. Move the Ignition Switch to the “STOP” position.

Mixing Fuel / 2-Cycle Oil

WARNING

Do not smoke or allow smoking near fuel or the Blower. Mix and pour fuel outdoors WHERE THERE ARE NO SPARKS

OR FLAMES.

The 2-cycle engine on your Blower requires that fuel and

2-cycle engine oil be pre-mixed before adding to the

Blower’s fuel tank. To mix the fuel/ 2-cycle oil:

1. Use fresh unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of

87 or higher.

CAUTION

Use of gasoline containing ethanol or methanol can damage

Blower.

2. Always use 2-cycle oil that meets or exceeds

JASO – FC

specifications and is intended for mixing at a fuel/oil ratio of 40:1.

3. Do not use automotive or 2-cycle marine outboard oil.

These will damage your Blower’s engine and void the warranty.

4. Always mix the gasoline and 2-cycle oil in a container

approved for gasoline. Never mix fuel directly in the

Blower’s fuel tank.

5. Follow instructions on 2-cycle oil container for mixing

fuel. Mix gasoline and 2-cycle oil at a ratio of 40:1. A

mixture with a 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 1 gallon

(4 liters) of gasoline with 3.2 ounces of oil (95 ml).

After

adding oil to gasoline, shake container momentarily to

ensure proper mixing.

6. Mix only enough fuel for your immediate needs. Do not

store pre-mixed fuel.

7. Stop engine and allow to cool before refueling.

8. To fill the Blower’s fuel tank with the gasoline/ oil

mixture, place the Blower upright on the ground or on a

sturdy bench and wipe and any debris from around the

fuel cap.

9. Remove fuel cap slowly and use a funnel to pour the

mixture into the tank, and replace the fuel cap.

10. Avoid spilling fuel or oil. Wipe up all fuel spills.

11. Move at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from fueling site

before starting engine.

Before Starting Engine:

Starting A Flooded Engine

1. Place the Blower on a flat surface.

2. Move the Ignition Switch to the “ON” position.

3. With the Choke Lever in the “RUN/WARM START”

position, hold the Throttle Lever fully depressed and pull

the starter handle repeatedly until engine starts and

runs. This could require pulling the starter handle many

times, depending on how badly the unit is flooded.

Routine Maintenance

• Save all instructions

Air Filter:

Accumulated debris and dust in the air filter will reduce engine performance, increase fuel consumption, and increases the

risk of engine damage. Clean the air filter every 5 hours of operation.

WARNING

Disconnect the spark plug before performing maintenance except for carburetor adjustments.

Engine Break-In Period:

During the first ten (10) hours of use, use the slowest engine speed which allows for effective usage and avoid operation

at high engine speeds for extended periods of time. This will maximize the life and performance of your blower’s engine.

Maximum power will be achieved after the first ten (10) hours of engine operation.

1. Before removing Air Filter Cover, brush away any loose

dirt or debris on and around the filter cover.

2. To remove Air Filter Cover, press on its sides and lift off

(Fig. 12).

3. Remove and clean foam filter.

•

Light surface dust can readily be removed by tapping the

filter.

• Heavy deposits should be washed out in soap and

water. Squeeze out any remaining water and allow the

filter to completely dry.

WARNING

Never clean filter in gasoline or other flammable solvents.

4. Add a drop of thin oil to the filter and replace it.

Storage

NOTE: To prevent fuel gum deposits in the Blowers carburetor and fuel system, it is acceptable to use fuel stabilizer.

Follow the stabilizer manufacturer’s instructions. Run the engine at least 5 minutes after adding stabilizer.

Spark Plug:

Inspect the spark plug after every 10-15 hours of use; adjust spark plug gap and replace spark plug as necessary. Replace

spark plug every year to maintain engine performance and easy starting.

To inspect or replace the Spark Plug:

1. Remove the insulated spark plug boot.

2. Use the spark plug wrench to remove the Spark Plug, by

turning counter-clockwise.

3. Clean and adjust the spark plug gap to 0.024 – 0.028 in.

(0.6 - 0.7mm).

4. Replace any worn plug with a recommended

replacement (see PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS. Clean

and adjust the spark plug gap to 0.024 – 0.028 in. (0.6 -

0.7mm).

5. Install the Spark Plug finger tight in the cylinder head,

then tighten firmly with the spark plug wrench.

6. Replace the insulated spark plug boot.

1. Allow engine to cool and empty the fuel tank before

storing or transporting in vehicle. Use up remaining

fuel in the carburetor by starting the engine and letting it

run until it stops.

2. When not in use, store Blower indoors in a dry location.

Store Blower above the reach of children or in a locked

area out of the reach of children.

3. Store unit and fuel in area where fuel vapors cannot

reach sparks or open flames from water heaters, electric

motors or switches, furnaces, etc.

4. When preparing the Blower for storage or when Blower

will not be used for 30 days or more:

a. Inspect and clean the Blower thoroughly.

b. Lightly oil all external metal surfaces.

c. Remove the spark plug, place a few drops of

2-cycle engine oil into the cylinder. Pull the recoil

starter several times to distribute the oil. Replace

the spark plug.

d. Inspect and clean air filter as required.

We reserve the right to amend these specifications at any time without notice. The only warranty applicable is our standard written

warranty. We make no other warranty, expressed or implied.

warrants this Blower and any

parts thereof, to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year (90 days for reconditioned unit) from the date of

first purchase from an authorized dealer, provided that the product has been properly maintained and operated in accordance

with all applicable instructions. This warranty is extended only to the original retail purchaser. The bill of sales or proof of purchase

must be presented at the time a claim is made under this warranty. This warranty does not cover commercial, industrial, or rental

usage, nor does it apply to parts that are not in original condition because of normal wear and tear, or parts that fail or become

damaged as a result of misuse, accident, lack of proper maintenance, tampering, or alteration. Travel, handling, transportation,

and incidental costs associated with warranty repairs are not reimbursable under this warranty and are the responsibility of

the owner. To the full extent allowed by the law of the jurisdiction that governs the sale of the product, this express warranty

excludes any and all other expressed warranties and limits the duration of any and all implied warranties, including warranties of

merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose to one year from the date of first purchase, and

To the extent there is any conflict between this Emissions Control Warranty and the

METL

Limited Warranty, this Emissions Control

Warranty shall apply except where the

Please read your warranty rights and obligations carefully. Some sections of the warranty may not apply to the specific

model you purchased. Unless specifically noted otherwise, the terms below shall apply to all AirSTREAM® products

covered within this manual.

YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

State of California (Applies only to Model No. A-HB-25150 (C)):

The California Air Resources Board and METL (engine mfg. by Suzhou Honbase Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd) are

pleased to explain the emissions control system warranty on your 2008 small off-road engine (SORE). In California,

new SOREs must be designed, built and equipped to meet the State’s stringent anti-smog standards. MAT Engine

Technologies, LLC (engine mfg. by METL) must warrant the emissions control system on your SOREs for the periods of

time listed below provided there has been no abuse, neglect or improper maintenance of your SOREs.

Other U.S States / Territories:

In other areas of the Unites States, your outdoor power equipment engine must be designed, built and equipped so as

to conform at the time of sale to U.S. EPA emissions standards for small off-road spark ignition engines at or below 19

kilowatts.

All of the United States:

Your emission control system may include parts such as the carburetor or fuel-injection system, fuel lines, the ignition

system, and catalytic converter. Also included may be hoses, belts, clamps, connectors and other emission-related

assemblies.

Where a warrantable condition exists, METL (engine mfg. by Suzhu Honbase Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd.) will repair

your small off-road engine at no cost to you including diagnosis, parts and labor.

Manufacturer’s Warranty Coverage:

The emissions control system is warranted for two years. If any emissions-related part on your engine is defective, the part

will be repaired or replaced by METL.

Owner’s Warranty Responsibilities:

• As the SORE owner, you are responsible for the performance of the required maintenance listed in your owner’s manual.

METL recommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance on your SORE, but METL can not deny warranty

solely for the lack of receipts or for your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduled maintenance.

• As the SORE owner, you should however be aware that METL may deny your warranty coverage if your SORE or a part

has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance or unapproved modifications.

• You are responsible for presenting your SORE to a distribution center or service center authorized by METL as soon as

the problem exists. The warranty repairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 30 days.

Defects Warranty Coverage:

METL (engine mfg. by Suzhu Honbase Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd.) warrants to the original purchaser and each

subsequent purchaser that the small off-road engine (SORE) (1) has been designed, built and equipped so as to conform

with all applicable regulations; and (2) is free from defects in materials and workmanship that cause the failure of a

warranted part to conform with those regulations as may be applicable to the terms and conditions stated below.

(a) The warranty period begins on the date the engine is first purchased. The warranty period is one year.

(b) Subject to certain conditions and exclusions as stated below, the warranty on emissions related parts is as follows:

(1) Any warranted part that is not scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in your Operator’s Manual is

warranted for the warranty period stated above. If the part fails during the period of warranty coverage, the part will

be repaired or replaced by METL according to Subsection (4) below. Any such part repaired or replaced under

warranty will be warranted for the remainder of the period.

(2) Any warranted part that is scheduled only for regular inspection in your Operator’s Manual is warranted for the

warranty period stated above. Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty will be warranted for the remaining

warranty period.

(3) Any warranted part that is scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in your Operator’s Manual is

warranted for the period of time before the first scheduled replacement date for that part. If the part fails before the

first scheduled replacement, the part will be repaired or replaced by METL according to Subsection (4) below.

Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty will be warranted for the remainder of the period prior to the first

scheduled replacement point for the part.

(4) Repair or replacement of any warranted part under the warranty provisions herein must be performed at a

warranty station at no charge to the owner.

(5) Notwithstanding the provisions herein, warranty services or repair will be provided at all of our distribution centers

that are franchised to service the subject engines.

(6) The engine owner must not be charged for diagnostic labor that leads to the determination that a warranted part is

in fact defective, provided that such diagnostic work is performed at a warranty station.

(7) METL is liable for damages to other engine components proximately caused by a failure under warranty of any

warranted part.

(8) Throughout the engine warranty period stated above, METL will maintain a supply of warranted parts sufficient to

meet the expected demand for such parts.

(9) Any replacement part may be used in the performance of any warranty maintenance or repairs and must be

provided without charge to the owner. Such use will not reduce the warranty obligations of METL.

(10) Add-on or modified parts that are not exempted by the Air Resources Board may not be used. The use of

any non-exempted add-on or modified parts by the original or subsequent purchaser will be grounds for disallowing

a warranty claims. METL will not be liable to warrant failures of warranted parts caused by the use of a non-

exempted add-on or modified part.

Emission Warranty Parts List:

The repair or replacement of any warranted part otherwise eligible for warranty coverage may be excluded from such

warranty coverage if METL demonstrates that the engine has been abused, neglected, or improperly maintained, and that

The California Air Resources Board and METL are pleased to explain the evaporative emission control system’s warranty

on your 2008 model year small off-road engine (SORE). In California, new SOREs must be designed, built and equipped

to meet the State’s stringent anti-smog standards. METL must warrant the evaporative emission control system on your

SOREs for the period of time listed below provided there has been no abuse, neglect or improper maintenance of your

SOREs.

Your evaporative emission control system may include parts such as: carburetors, fuel tanks, fuel lines, fuel caps, valves,

canisters, filters, vapor hoses, clamps, connectors, and other associated components.

Manufacturer’s Warranty Coverage:

This evaporative emission control system is warranted for two years. If any evaporative emission-related part on your

equipment is defective, the part will be repaired or replaced by METL.

Owner’s Warranty Responsibilities:

• As the SORE owner, you are responsible for performance of the required maintenance listed in your owner’s manual.

METL recommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance on your SOREs, but METL can not deny warranty

solely for the lack of receipts.

• As the SORE owner, you should however be aware that METL may deny you warranty coverage if your SOREs or a part

have failed due to abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance or unapproved modifications.

• You are responsible for presenting your SOREs to distribution center or service center authorized by METL as soon as

the problem exists. The warranty repairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 30 days.

Defects Warranty Coverage:

(a) The warranty period begins on the date the engine is purchased.

(b) General Evaporative Emissions Warranty Coverage. The engine must be warranted to the ultimate purchaser and

any subsequent owner that the evaporative emission control system when installed was:

(1) Designed, built, and equipped so as to conform with all applicable regulations; and

(2) Free from defects in materials and workmanship that causes the failure of a warranted part for a period of two years.

(1) Any warranted part that is not scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in the written instructions must

be warranted for the warranty period defined in subsection (b) (2).

If any such part fails during the period of warrantycoverage, it must be repaired or replaced by METL issuing

the warranty. Any such part repaired or replaced under the warranty must be warranted for a time not less than the

remaining warranty period.

(2) Any warranted part that is scheduled only for regular inspection in the written instructions must be warranted

for the warranty period defined in subsection (b) (2). A statement in such written instructions to the effect of “repair

or replace as necessary” will not reduce the period of warranty coverage. Any such part repaired or replaced under

warranty must be warranted for a time not less than the remaining warranty period.

(3) Any warranted part that is scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in the written instructions must be

warranted for the period of time prior to the first scheduled replacement point for that part. If the part fails prior to the

first scheduled replacement, the part must be repaired or replaced by METL Any such part repaired or replaced under

warranty must be warranted for a time not less than the remainder of the period prior to the first scheduled

replacement point for the part.

(4) Repair or replacement of any warranted part under the warranty provisions of this article must be performed at no

charge to the owner at a warranty station.

(5) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (4) above, warranty services or repairs must be provided at

distribution centers that are franchised to service the subject engines or equipment.

(6) The owner must not be charged for diagnostic labor that leads to the determination that a warranted part is in fact

defective, provided that such diagnostic work is performed at a warranty station.

(7) Throughout the evaporative emission control system’s warranty period set out in subsection (b) (2), METL issuing

the warranty must maintain a supply of warranted parts sufficient to meet the expected demand for such parts.

(8) Manufacturer approved replacement parts must be used in the performance of any warranty maintenance or

repairs and must be provided without charge to the owner. Such use will not reduce the warranty obligations of the

manufacturer issuing the warranty.

(9) The use of any add-on or modified parts will be grounds for disallowing a warranty claim made in accordance with

this article. The manufacturer issuing the warranty will not be liable under this Article to warrant failures of warranted

parts caused by the use of an add-on or modified part.

(10) METL issuing the warranty shall provide any documents that describe the warranty procedures or policies within

five working days of request by the Executive Officer.

Durante el funcionamiento de la sopladora

PRECAUCIÓN

El estar expuesto a las vibraciones a través del uso prolongado de herramientas de fuerza a gasolina puede causar

daños a los vasos sanguíneos o a los nervios de los dedos, las manos y las coyunturas en aquellas personas que tengan

propensión a los trastornos de la circulación o a las hinchazones anormales. El uso prolongado en tiempo frío ha sido

asociado con daños a los vasos sanguíneos de personas que, por otra parte, se encuentran en perfecto estado de salud.

Si ocurren síntomas tales como el entumecimiento, el dolor, la falta de fuerza, los cambios en el color o la textura de la piel

o falta de sentido en los dedos, las manos o las coyunturas, deje de usar este aparato y procure atención médica.

Seguridad con el combustible

1. Mezcle y vierta el combustible en exteriores DONDE NO HAYAN CHISPAS O LLAMAS.

2. Use un recipiente aprobado para gasolina.

3. No fume ni permita que se fume cerca del combustible, ni de la sopladora.

4. Evitar derramar combustible o aceite. Enjugar todo derrame de combustible y dejar que la unidad seque antes de

utilizarla.

5. Aléjese a por lo menos 3 metros (10 pies) del lugar de abastecimiento, antes de poner en marcha el motor.

6. Pare el motor y permita que se enfríe, antes de retirar la tapa del tanque. Quite la tapa del tanque lentamente.

Mantenimiento y almacenamiento de la sopladora

Jamás utilizar la sopladora sin el tubo superior y las

boquillas instaladas correctamente en la sopladora.

ADVERTENCIA

¡Los álabes del rodete pueden causar lesiones graves!

Parar el motor antes de instalar o retirar los tubos de

la sopladora. Jamás efectuar ningún procedimiento de

mantenimiento o montaje en esta sopladora mientras el

motor esté en marcha.

1. Alinear la flecha en el tubo superior con la flecha en

el tubo de la boquilla. (Fig. 2)

2. Deslizar el tubo de la boquilla hacia el tubo superior.

3. Girar el tubo de la boquilla en sentido horario hasta

escucharse un chasquido, para asegurar el tubo de la

boquilla al tubo superior. (Fig. 3)

4. Alinear la flecha en el tubo superior con la flecha en

la salida de la sopladora. (Fig. 4)

5. Deslizar el tubo superior hacia la salida de la sopladora.

6. Girar el tubo superior en sentido horario hasta

escucharse un chasquido, para asegurar el tubo

superior a la salida de la sopladora. (Fig. 5)

Nota: Colocar el tubo de modo que la inscripción “Este

lado arriba (This Side Up)” esté en la posición superior.

Arranque del motor:

ES NECESARIO asegurarse de que los tubos estén

seguros antes de utilizar la unidad.

Arrancar el motor en frío

1. Coloque la sopladora sobre una superficie plana.

2. Ponga el interruptor de ignición en posicion encendida (ON).

3. Ponga la palanca de la estranguladora hacia arriba en posicion

de arranque en frío (COLD START). (Fig. 9)

4. Presione el cebador para combustible, lentamente 6 veces. (Fig. 10)

5. Tirar de la empuñadura del arrancador de retroceso

rápidamente hasta que el motor arranque y marche.

Después del arranque, deje la sopladora en marcha durante

10 a 15 segundos y ponga la palanca de la estranguladora

en posición de arranque en marcha/en caliente (RUN/WARM

START).

Arrancar el motor en caliente

1. Coloque la sopladora sobre una superficie plana.

2. Ponga el interruptor de ignición en posicion encendida (ON).

3. Con la palanca de la estranguladora en posicion de arranque en

caliente (RUN/WARM START), jale firmemente la manija del

arrancador, hasta que el motor arranque y se ponga en marcha.

Dispare la palanca de admisión de gases y permita al motor estar en punto muerto por unos momentos.

2. Mover el interruptor de encendido a la posición “STOP” (“PARAR”).

Mezcla de combustible / Aceite para motores de 2 ciclos

ADVERTENCIA

No fume ni permita que se fume cerca del combustible, ni de la sopladora. Mezcle y vierta el combustible en exteriores

DONDE NO HAYAN CHISPAS NI LLAMAS.

El motor de 2 ciclos de la sopladora requiere mezclar primero el

combustible con el aceite para motores de 2 ciclos, antes de verterlo

en el tanque para combustible de la sopladora. Para mezclar el

combustible con el aceite para motores de 2 ciclos:

1. Utilice gasolina nueva sin plomo que tenga un índice de octano

de 87 o más.

PRECAUCIÓN

El uso de gasolina que contiene metanol o etanol puede dañar la

sopladora.

Siempre utilice aceite para motores de 2 ciclos que cumpla o

exceda las especificaciones JASO – FC y que está diseñado para

mezclarse en una proporción para combustible / aceite de 40:1.

3. No utilice aceite para automóviles, ni aceite para motores de 2

ciclos para motor exterior de barco. Estos dañarán el motor de la

sopladora y anulará la garantía.

4. Siempre mezcle la gasolina y el aceite para motores de 2 ciclos,

en un recipiente aprobado para gasolina. Nunca mezcle el

combustible directamente dentro del tanque para combustible de

la sopladora.

6. Mezcle solamente una cantidad suficiente de acuerdo con

sus necesidades inmediatas. No guarde combustible

premezclado.

7. Pare el motor y permita que se enfríe, antes de rellenarlo.

8. Para llenar el tanque para combustible de la sopladora con la

mezcla de combustible / aceite, coloque la sopladora de pie

sobre el suelo o sobre un banco sólido y limpie cualquier

suciedad que se encuentre alrededor de la tapa del tanque

para combustible.

9. Quite la tapa del tanque lentamente y utilice un embudo para

verterla mezcla dentro del tanque. Vuelva a colocar la tapa del

tanque.

10. Evite derramar el combustible o el aceite. Limpie todo el

combustible derramado.

11. Aléjese a por lo menos 3 metros (10 pies) del lugar de

abastecimiento, antes de poner en marcha el motor.

Antes de poner el motor en marcha:

Arrancar un motor inundado

1. Coloque la sopladora sobre una superficie plana.

2. Ponga el interruptor de ignición en posicion encendida (ON).

Filtro de aire:

Una acumulación de partículas y polvo dentro del filtro de aire reducirá el rendimiento del motor, aumentará el consumo

de combustible, y el riesgo de dañar el motor. Limpie el filtro de aire en cada periodo de 5 horas de utilización.

ADVERTENCIA

Excepto para ajustes al carburador, desconectar la bujía antes de efectuar mantenimiento.

Periodo de rodaje del motor:

Durante las primeras diez (10) horas de uso, utilizar la velocidad más lenta de marcha del motor que permita su uso eficaz,

y asimismo, evitar la marcha del motor a velocidades altas durante períodos prolongados. Esto prolongará al máximo la

vida útil y el rendimiento del motor de la sopladora. Se logra la potencia máxima después de las primeras diez (10) horas

de marcha del motor.

1. Antes de quitar el filtro de aire, limpie con un cepillo la

suciedad floja o las partículas sobre y alrededor de la

tapa del filtro.

2. Para quitar la tapa del filtro, presione sobre los lados y

levántela. (Fig. 12)

3. Quite y limpie el filtro de espuma.

• El polvo ligero de la superficie puede quitarse,

golpeando ligeramente sobre el filtro.

• Cuando hay depósitos más pesados, debe

limpiarlo con agua jabonosa. Presione el resto

de agua y deje secar el filtro completamente.

ADVERTENCIA

Nunca limpie el filtro con gasolina u otros disolventes

inflamables.

4. Añada una gota de aceite claro en el filtro y vuelva a

colocarlo.

NOTA:

Para evitar los depósitos de resinas en el combustible, dentro del carburador y del sistema de combustible de la

sopladora, es aceptable utilizar un estabilizador para combustible. Siga las instrucciones del fabricante del estabilizador. Ponga

el motor en marcha, al menos 5 minutos después de añadir el estabilizador.

Bujía:

Verifique la bujía después de cada periodo de 10 a 15 horas de uso; ajuste la distancia entre los electrodos de la bujía y reemplace la

2. Utilice la llave para bujía para quitarla, girando en el

sentido contrario del reloj.

2. Cuando no la utiliza, guarde la sopladora en interiores, en un

lugar seco. Guarde la unidad por encima del alcance de los

niños o en un lugar cerrado, lejos del alcance de los niños.

3. Guarde la unidad y el combustible en un lugar donde los

vapores del combustible no puedan alcanzar chispas

ni llamas, provenientes de los termotanques, los motores o

interruptores eléctricos, los calefactores centrales, etc.

4. Al preparar la sopladora para almacenarla o cuando no la va

a utilizar durante 30 días o más:

a. Verifique y limpie la sopladora completamente.

b. Lubrifique ligeramente todas las superficies

Cobertura de defectos sobre la garantía:

METL (motor fabricado por la empresa Suzhu Honbase Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd) garantiza al comprador original

y a cada comprador subsiguiente que el motor pequeño para uso fuera de carretera (SORE) (1) ha sido diseñado,

fabricado y equipado para cumplir con todas las normas aplicables; y (2) está libre de defectos materiales y de mano de

obra que puedan causar el fallo de una pieza garantizada y asÍ, cumplir con estas regulaciones que pueden ser aplicables

de acuerdo con las condiciones establicidas abajo.

(a) El periodo de garantía comienza con la fecha de compra del motor cuando se compra por primera vez. El periodo de

garantía será de uno año.

(b) Dependiendo de algunas condiciones y exclusiones que están establicidas abajo, la garantía para las piezas

relacionadas con las emisiones se aplica como sigue:

(1) Cualquier pieza garantizada que no está programada para un reemplazo como tipo de mantenimiento necesario

(3) Cualquier pieza que está programada para un reemplazo como tipo de mantenimiento necesario dentro del

Manual del usuario, está garantizada por el periodo que se encuentra antes de la primera fecha de reemplazo

programada para esta pieza. Si la pieza falla antes del primer reemplazo programado, METL reparará o

reemplazará la pieza, de acuerdo con el artículo (4) abajo. Tal pieza reparada o reemplazada sobre la garantía

(6) El propietario del motor no pagará los costos del diagnóstico que conducirá a determinar si la pieza garantizada

está defectuosa, a condición de que este trabajo de diagnóstico esté provisto por un centro de servicio autorizado.

(7) METL será responsable por los daños a otros componentes que en el motor se encuentran cerca, causados por

un fallo sobre garantía de cualquier pieza garantizada.

(8) Durante todo el periodo de la garantía del motor como se indica arriba, METL mantendrá un suministro de piezas

garantizadas, para cumplir suficientemente con las exigencias requeridas por estas piezas.

(9) Cualquier pieza de reemplazo puede ser utilizada para dar mantenimento o reparaciones sobre garantía y debe

ser provista sin costo al propietario. Este uso no reducirá las obligaciones de garantía de METL.

(10) No debe utilizar piezas adicionales o modificadas que no estén autorizadas por el Consejo de Recursos del Aire.

El uso de piezas adicionales o modificadas no autorizadas será motivo para anular las reclamaciones sobre la

La reparación o el reemplazo de cualquier pieza garantizada que puede ser normalmente eligible en la cobertura de la

garantía, puede ser excluida de tal cobertura de la garantía, si METL demuestra que ha habido abuso, negligencia o

mantenimiento inadecuado con el motor y que el abuso, negligencia o mantenimiento inadecuado sea la causa directa de

las emisiones evaporativas falla, METL reparará o reemplazará la pieza.

Garantia de responsabilidad del propietario:

• Como propietario de una máquina de motor pequeño para uso fuera de carretera, usted será responsable del

mantenimiento adecuado y enumerado en el manual de instrucciones. METL recomienda que guarde todos los recibos

Cobertura de defectos sobre la garantía:

(b) Cobertura general relacionada con las emisiones evaporativas sobre la garantía. El motor debe estar garantizado al

último comprador y a cualquier propietario subsiguiente, como habia sido instalado el sistema de control de emisiones

de la manera siguiente:

(1) Diseñado, fabricado y equipado para cumplir con todas las regulaciones aplicables; y

(2) Libre de defectos materiales y de mano de obra que puedan causar el fallo de una pieza garantizada durante un

periodo de dos años.

(1) Cualquier pieza garantizada que no está programada para un reemplazo como tipo de mantenimiento necesario

en las instrucciones escritas, debe estar garantizada por el periodo de garantía indicado en el artículo (b) 2.

Si la pieza falla durante el periodo de la cobertura de la garantía, debe ser reparada o reemplazada por METL,

el cual promulga la garantía. Tal pieza reparada o reemplazada sobre la garantía debe estar garantizada durante un

tiempo que no será menor que el periodo restante de la garantía.

(2) Cualquier pieza que está programada solamente para una verificación regular en las instrucciones escritas, debe

estar garantizada por el periodo de garantía indicado en el artículo (b) 2. Una declaración en estas instrucciones

establece que “la reparación o el reemplazo, si es necesario” no reducirá el periodo restante de la garantía. Tal pieza

reparada o reemplazada sobre la garantía estará siempre garantizada durante un tiempo que no será menor que el

periodo restante de la garantía.

(3) Cualquier pieza que está programada para un reemplazo como tipo de mantenimiento necesario en las instrucciones

escritas, debe estar garantizada por el periodo que se encuentra antes del primer punto de reemplazo programado

para esta pieza. Si la pieza falla antes del primer reemplazo programado, debe ser reparada o reemplazada por METL.

Tal pieza reparada o reemplazada sobre la garantía debe estar garantizada durante un tiempo que no será menor que

el resto del periodo de garantía, que se encuentra antes del punto del primer reemplazo programado para esta pieza.

(4) La reparación o el reemplazo de cualquier pieza sobre las disposiciones de este artículo, deben ser efectuadas

por un distribuidor autorizado de servicio y sin costo al propietario.

(5) Sin embargo, de acuerdo con las disposiciones del artículo (4) arriba, el servicio o las reparaciones, bajo

garantía, deberán ser provistos por los distribuidores autorizados para ofrecer este servicio a estos motores o equipo.

(6) El propietario del motor no pagará los costos del diagnóstico que conducirá a determinar si la pieza garantizada

está defectuosa, a condición de que este trabajo de diagnóstico esté provisto por un centro de servicio autorizado.

(7) A lo largo del periodo de garantÍa del sistema de control para las emisiones evaporativas establecido en artículo

(b) 2,

METL

el cual promulga la garantía, debe mantener un suministro de piezas garantizadas, para cumplir

suficientemente con las exigencias requeridas por estas piezas.

(8) Las piezas de reemplazo aprobadas por el fabricante deben ser utilizadas para efectuar el mantenimiento o la

reparación sobre garantía y deberán ser provistas sin costo al propietario. Este uso no reducirá las obligaciones de

garantía del fabricante el cual, promulga la garantía.

(9) El uso de piezas adicionales o modificadas será motivo para anular cualquier reclamación sobre garantía,

hecha de acuerdo con este artículo. De acuerdo con este artículo, el fabricante el cual, promulga la garantía no

será responsable ni garantizará las fallas de las piezas garantizadas, causados por el uso de una pieza adicional o

modificada.

(10) A petición del Director Ejecutivo,

METL

el cual, promulga la garantía, proporcionará cualquier documento que

describa los procedimientos o las políticas para la garantía, dentro de cinco días laborables.
