Safety
Please read carefully through the following information and keep these
instructions, in case you need to refer to them later. If you pass the product
on to someone else, please also include these instructions.
zThis device may be used by children from the age of 8 as well as
by persons with reduced physical, sensory and mental
capabilities or with a lack of experience and/or knowledge if
they are being supervised or have been instructed on how to
safely use the device and have understood the resulting risks.
zThe device and the mains adaptor must be kept out of the reach
of children below the age of 8.
zThe device must not be cleaned by children unless they are at
least 8 years of age and are being supervised.
zChildren must be supervised to ensure that they don’t play with
the device.

6
zThe radio weather station and the mains adaptor must not be
immersed in water or other iquids due to risk of electrocution.
The base station of the radio weather station must not be used
near sources of moisture such as sinks.
zOnly the mains adaptor provided must be used and it must only
be replaced with the same model. The mains adaptor may only
be used in dry indoor areas and must be protected from
moisture.
Designated use
The weather station - comprised of the base station and radio sensor - displays various
weather data (air pressure, temperature, etc.) from the vicinity. From the measured
weather data, the weather station determines a weather forecast.
The weather station also displays the date, time and moon phases and also has an
alarm function.
The weather station is unsuitable for commercial use in weather forecasting or in
weather data measurement.

Hazards for children
zBatteries can pose a danger to life if swallowed. Therefore, keep the weather
station, radio sensor and batteries out of reach of small children. If a battery has
been swallowed, medical assistance must immediately be sought.
zKeep children away from packaging material and the small parts in the scope of
delivery. Suffocation hazard if swallowed.
Electrical danger (when using the mains adaptor)
zConnect the device to a correctly installed power socket with a voltage that
complies with the “technical data”.
zMake sure that the power socket is easy to reach so that the mains adaptor can be
pulled out quickly if necessary.
zDo not use the radio weather station if the mains adaptor or the mains adaptor
cable are damaged.
zDo not cover the mains adaptor with curtains, newspaper etc. and make sure there
is sufficient ventilation. The mains adaptor can become hot.
zFully unwind the mains adaptor cable before connecting it. Make sure that the
cable cannot get damaged by sharp edges or hot objects.
UK Funkwetterstation.book Seite 7 Freitag, 13. Juni 2014 1:47 13

8
zPull the mains adaptor out of the socket:
- before cleaning the radio weather station,
- if the device is obviously not working properly,
- during thunderstorms
Always pull the plug, not the cable.
zDo not modify the device itself or the power cable. Repairs must only be carried out
by a specialist workshop, because devices that have not been professionally
repaired may put the user at risk. Please also read the enclosed terms of guarantee.
zThe mains adaptor cable cannot be replaced. If the cable or the mains adaptor is
damaged they must be scrapped and replaced by a mains adaptor of the same
model.
Injury hazard
zCaution: Explosion hazard with improper handling of batteries. Batteries must not
be charged, reactivated with other means, dismantled, thrown into fire or short-
circuited.
zAvoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. If you come into contact
with the battery fluid immediately rinse the affected area with plenty of clean water
and consult a doctor immediately.

9
Caution – property damage
zProtect the base station and radio sensor from dust, impact, extreme temperatures
and direct sunshine.
zProtect the base station from moisture. Exclusively position base station in a dry,
enclosed space.
zThe radio sensor is protected against moisture; however, it must be protected from
direct exposure to moisture such as rain.
zRubberized areas as safeguarding against slip are located at the stud of the base
station. As the furniture/floor surfaces are made of diverse materials and are
treated with diverse care products, it cannot be entirely ruled out that some of
these materials contain components, which could attack and soften the rubber
lining. If necessary, place a non-slip base under the base station.
zRemove the batteries from the base station and radio sensor, if they become
depleted or if you are not using the weather station for a long period of time. This
way, you avoid damage that could result from leakage.
zDo not expose the batteries to any extreme conditions for example by laying them
on a radiator or under direct sunlight as this increases the risk of leakage.
zClean the battery and appliance contacts prior to insertion, if required.
UK Funkwetterstation.book Seite 9 Freitag, 13. Juni 2014 1:47 13

10
zAlways replace all batteries in the base station or in the radio sensor at the same
time.
zOnly use batteries of the same type, do not use different types or used and new
batteries together.
zDo not carry out any changes to the device. Only allow repairs to be carried out by
a professional workshop and pay attention to the warranty conditions.
zNever use hard, scratching or abrasive detergents or similar, for cleaning the
weather station. This could scratch the surfaces.

Initial use
Proceed in the order indicated and first insert the batteries in the radio sensor.
Only then will the weather station work properly.
Radio sensor
1. Remove the battery compartment lid
on the back of the radio sensor.
2. Insert two type R03 (AAA) / 1.5 V
batteries, as shown on the base of the
battery compartment.
Pay attention to the correct polarity
(+/-) of the batteries.
3. Reattach the battery compartment lid.
UK Funkwetterstation.book Seite 18 Freitag, 13. Juni 2014 1:47 13

19
- Do not use any rechargeable batteries, as their voltage is too low
(only 1.2 V instead of 1.5 V). This influences the measuring precision, among
other things.
- Preferably use alkaline batteries instead of zinc carbon batteries. Alkaline
batteries last longer, particularly with low outdoor temperatures.
Using additional radio sensors
The weather station is supplied with one radio sensor. However, you can operate the
weather station with up to three radio sensors. Additional radio sensors are available
through our Service centre. The address is on the warranty card.
zThe radio sensors can be situated in different rooms or outdoors.
zEach sensor must have its own sensor number (sensor number = number of the
transmission channel) allocated to it (1 to 3).
zFor the snow and frost warning, the weather station only evaluates the data of the
sensor with the lowest number (default is 1).
Procedure:
1. Remove the battery compartment lid on the back of the radio sensors.
2. Set a dedicated sensor number for each radio sensor using the slide switches
UK Funkwetterstation.book Seite 19 Freitag, 13. Juni 2014 1:47 13

20
3. Reattach the battery compartment lids onto the radio sensors.
4. Keep the CHANNEL button pressed on the base station until the display for
weather data OUT flashes.
The base station will now access the weather data for all available radio sensors.
Base station
You can operate the radio weather station with a mains adaptor or with batteries.
If the radio weather station is connected to a power socket, the device operates from
the mains supply even if batteries are inserted. Remove discharged batteries from the
battery compartment because they may leak.
Mains supply operation
ATTENTION
For operation from the mains supply only use the mains adaptor supplied
with the device.
1. Insert the plug of the supplied mains adaptor in the plug-in point of the base
station.
2. Insert the mains adaptor in a power socket with a voltage that complies with the
“technical data”.
