Pika-asennusohje
Pakkaus sisältää:
-PA500x2(b) –sovitin - 2x RJ-45 kaapeli (Verkko)
-Asennusohje - Ohjelmisto CD
Liittimet / Portit:
1. Security/Reset -painike: Tällä painikkeella voit tehdä pariliitoksen toisen
sovittimen kanssa (paina 2 sek.) tai palauttaa tehdasoletukset (paina 10 sek.).
2. Virtapistoke: Liitä virtapistoke seinään sähkörasiaan.
3. LAN –portti: Liitä tähän porttiin tietokone/modeemi/IPTV verkkokaapelilla.
Asennusvaatimukset:
-Pidä tuote kaukana lämpöä tuottavista laitteista
-Älä sijoita tuotetta pölyiseen tai kosteaan paikkaan

Etupaneelin valot/toiminnot:
1. Power -valo:
palaa = Virrat päällä
pimeä = Virrat on pois päältä
vilkkuu hitaasti = Virransäästötilassa
vilkkuu = Yhdistää toiseen sovittimeen
2. Ethernet –valo:
palaa = Verkkoliitäntä yhdistetty
pimeä = Verkkoliitäntä ei yhdistetty
vilkkuu = Data liikennettä sähköverkossa
3. Data -valo:
palaa vihreänä = Sähköverkkoyhteys on korkeatasoinen
palaa oranssina = Sähköverkkoyhteys on keskitasoinen
palaa punaisena = Sähköverkkoyhteys on matalatasoinen
pimeä = Toista sovitinta ei ole tunnistettu sähköverkosta

1. Asennuksen aloitus
(Yleistä tietoa laitteen käyttöönottoon)
Tehdasoletuksena PA500x2(b) sovittimilla on alla luetellut asetukset:
Network name = PLC30xxxx (xxxx=numerosarja joka sama sovitinparilla)
Encryption = AES 128bit
PA500x2(b) sovittimet ovat oletuksena määritetty pariksi ja yhteys sovittimien välillä on
salattu. Sovittimet toimivat siltana verkkojen välissä. Kohdassa 2 on ohjeet tietokoneen IP
–osoitteiden määrittämisestä Internet –yhteyttä varten.
Laajennettu verkko
Jos haluat laajentaa verkkoasi ja käyttää useampaa kuin kahta sovitinta, voit yhdistää uuden
sovittimen valmiiksi salattuun yhteyteen sovittimen pohjassa olevalla Security –painikkeella.
Paina ensin 2 sekuntia uudesta sovittimesta ja tämän jälkeen 2 sekuntia toisesta olemassa
olevasta sovittimesta. Kun uuden sovittimen Powerline –valo palaa, on uusi sovitin liittynyt
samaan verkkoon muiden sovittimien kanssa.
Verkon laajennuksen voi myös tehdä PowerPacketUtility –ohjelmiston avulla. Asenna ensin
PowerPacketUtility –ohjelma mukana tulleelta CD:ltä jonka jälkeen aseta jokaiseen
sovittimeen sama verkonnimi ”Private Network Name”. Tarkemmat ohjeet löydät ”Utility
Guide” ohjeesta.
Tehdasasetusten palautus:
Tarvittaessa tehdasasetukset palautetaan painamalla noin 10 sekuntia Reset
-painiketta sovittimen pohjasta virran ollessa päällä.

2. Verkkoasetukset Internet -yhteyttä varten
(Määritä nämä kun haluat käyttää Internet:iä)
Windows 7
1. Valitse Käynnistä -> Ohjauspaneeli.
2. Paina linkkiä Näytä verkon tila ja tehtävät ja paina tämän jälkeen linkistä Muuta
sovittimen asetuksia.
3. Paina Lähiverkkoyhteys kuvakkeen päältä oikean puoleisella hiiren
nappulalla ja valitse Ominaisuudet.
4. Valitse Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Paina Ominaisuudet.
5. Valitse Hanki IP –osoite automaattisesti ja Hae DNS –palvelimen
osoite automaattisesti.
6. Hyväksy Internet-protokolla (TCP/IP) ominaisuudet painamalla OK.
7. Hyväksy vielä Lähiverkkoyhteyden ominaisuudet, paina Sulje.
8. Tarkista vielä, että Internet Explorer:in asetuksissa EI OLE valittuna
Käytä välityspalvelinta.
9. Nyt työasema on valmis internet -yhteyttä varten.
Windows 8
1. Paina Työpöytä –kuvakkeesta Windows 8:n aloitusruudulta.
2. Paina hiiren oikean puoleista painiketta ruudun alareunassa olevasta
verkkokuvakkeesta.
3. Valitse ”Avaa Verkko- ja jakamiskeskus”.
4. Paina linkistä Muuta sovittimen asetuksia.
5. Paina verkkoyhteytesi kuvakkeen päältä oikean puoleisella hiiren painikkeella ja
valitse Ominaisuudet.
6. Valitse Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Paina Ominaisuudet.
7. Valitse Hanki IP –osoite automaattisesti ja Hae DNS –palvelimen osoite
automaattisesti.
8. Hyväksy Internet-protokolla (TCP/IP) ominaisuudet painamalla OK.
9. Hyväksy vielä Lähiverkkoyhteyden ominaisuudet, paina Sulje.
10. Nyt työasema on valmis internet -yhteyttä varten.
Mac OS
1. Avaa AppleTalk -säädin, valitse kytkennäksi Ethernet.
2. Avaa TCP/IP -säädin ja tee seuraavat asetukset:
- Kytkentä = Ethernet
- Määrittelytapa = DHCP -palvelin
3. Tallenna. Nyt työasema on valmis internet -yhteyttä varten.

Quick Installation Guide

Connectors / Ports:
1. Security/Reset button: You can use this button to pair other adapters (press 2
sec.) or reset to factory defaults (press 10sec.).
2. Power socket: Connect socket to the wall mount.
3. LAN port: Connect your PC/modem/IPTV to this port by Ethernet cable.
Installation requirements:
-Keep the product away from heating devices
-Do not keep product in dusty or wet place

Front panel led’s/functions:
1. Power LED:
ON = Power turned on.
OFF = Power turned off.
Flashing slow = Power saving mode
Flashing = Establishing power line connection
2. Ethernet LED:
ON = Ethernet connected
OFF = Ethernet disconnected
Flashing = Data on power line
3. Data LED:
ON green = Power line connected in high performance
ON orange = Power line connected in medium performance
ON red = Power line connected in low performance
OFF = Power line is not connected

1. Getting started
(General information of product introduction)
PA500x2(b) adapters have below settings as factory defaults:
Network name = PLC30xxxx (xxxx=serial of numbers which same for adapter pairs)
Encryption = AES 128bit
PA500x2(b) adapters are set as pair and the connection between pair is encrypted as default.
Adapters work as bridge between networks. On Step 2 you can find instructions to configure
your PC IP addresses for Internet connection.
Expanded network
If you want to expand your network and use more than two adapters, you can connect a new
adapter to the encrypted power line network with adapter Security button. First, press 2
seconds from new adapter and after that 2 seconds from other encrypted adapter on network.
When new adapter Powerline LED turn ON, new adapter has been joined to same network
with other adapters.
You can also expand your network with PowerPacketUtility software. First, install the
PowerPacketUtility software provided in CD. After that, set same network name ”Private
Network Name” to each adapter. More detailed instructions you can find from Utility Guide.
Reset to factory defaults:
You can reset to factory defaults by press the Reset button 10 seconds at
back side of the adapter when power on.

2. Network settings for Internet connection
(Modify/check these settings when you want to use Internet)
Windows 7
1. Go to Start -> Control Panel.
2. Press View network status and tasks and then press a link Change adapter settings.
3. Move mouse over Local Area Connection icon and press right hand
mouse button on it. Choose Properties.
4. Choose Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Press Properties.
5. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server
address automatically.
6. In properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), press OK.
7. Press OK in Network settings.
8. Make sure that, no Proxy settings is enabled in Internet Explorer settings
9. Now your workstation is ready for Internet
Windows 8
1. Press Desktop –icon on Windows 8 start screen.
2. Press your mouse right hand button on network icon located at task bar.
3. Choose ”Open Network and Sharing Center”.
4. Press a link Change adapter settings.
5. Move mouse over Local Area Connection icon and press right hand mouse button on
it. Choose Properties.
6. Choose Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Press Properties.
7. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server
address automatically.
8. In properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), press OK.
9. Press OK in Network settings.
10. Now your workstation is ready for Internet
Mac OS
1. Open AppleTalk -controller, choose Ethernet connection
2. Open TCP/IP -controller and modify these settings:
Connection = Ethernet
Definition = DHCP-server
3. Save settings. Now your workstation is ready for Internet

1 Overview
The PA500x2(b) is a mini-PLC adapter pair transmitting data of 500Mbps on the
household power line. It helps establishing a high-speed network that supports
video, voice and data without wiring or drilling. It can be applied in a wide range of
both residential (at home) and commercial (in offices, apartments, hotels and
warehouses) network applications.
2 Hardware Installation
Ethernet: The Ethernet port is for connecting to one Ethernet network cable, while
another end to PC or other Ethernet-enabled network device.
Security\Reset:Set the status of the device members or restore the factory default
settings. To make the adapter a member of the existing AVLN, press this button
and release in less than 3 seconds. To restore the adapter to the factory defaults,
press this button and release in 10 to 15 seconds.

3 Utility Installation
Note:
Before installing the PLC utility, make sure that no other powerline utility is
installed on your computer, otherwise, uninstall it and restart your computer.
Follow the steps below to install the utility. Password or CD-Key is not needed.
Step 1 Insert the utility CD into the computer’s CD-ROM drive. Select the PLC
500AV Utility Installation folder and double-click the setup.exe. The
page for installing the utility software is displayed.
Step 2 Click Next to enter the following page.

Step 3 Select I accept the agreement and click Next to enter the following
page.

Step 4 Click Browse… to select an installation folder and click Next.
Step 5 Click Next to display the following page.
Step 6 You may choose Create a desktop icon or create a Quick Launch icon,
or choose both. Click Next to enter the following page

Step 7 Click Install to continue with the installation.
Step 8 You may select Launch PowerLine Utility. Click Finish to finish the
installation.

4 Utility Configuration
Run PowerLine Utility on the desktop.
The top panel shows the local Security devices connected to the network interface
card (NIC) of the computer. The lower panel displays all remote devices
discovered in the current logical network.
Note:
Usually, only one HomePlugAV device will be detected and displayed on the top
panel of the screen. However, more than one HomePlugAV devices will be
detected if your computer has multiple NICs.
How to set the password of a remote device (required when creating a
private network)?
Step 1 Click the device name to select the device on the lower panel.
