Kurzanleitung für ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-Serie
Der ALLDAQ USB 3.0 SuperSpeed USB-Isolator ermöglicht eine galvanische
Trennung zwischen Host-PC und USB-Gerät. Dies schützt vor Überspannung und
Masseschleifen, welche häug Ursache von Störungen sind.

Blockschaltbild:
Vorgehensweise:
Verbinden Sie zuerst den Host-Port des USB-Isolators mit einem USB-Port Ihres Rechners (passendes USB-Kabel im Lieferumfang)
ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO: Verbinden Sie den ext. Versorgungseingang U_EXT mit einem geeigneten Steckernetzteil (inkl. bei ADQ-USB3.0-ISO-PS)
ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: Schließen Sie an U_EXT eine ext. Versorgung im Bereich 10..36 VDC an. Achten Sie auf korrekte Polarität!
Verbinden Sie den Device-Port des USB-Isolators mit dem USB-Gerät (z.B. USB-Oszilloskop)
Hinweise:
• Der Eingang für ext. DC-Versorgung ist kurzschlussfest und gegen Verpolung geschützt. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Spezi-
kation für U_EXT eingehalten wird! (ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO: +5VDC, ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: 10..36VDC)
• Betriebssystem-Unterstützung: Windows, MAC OS and Linux
• Die Isolationsspannung ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO: 1kV (dauerhaft), ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: 1,6 kV (60s)
• Die max. Länge der USB-Verbindung darf nicht überschritten werden (Gesamtlänge PC zu Gerät)
• Mit externer Versorgung max. 900 mA für USB-Gerät, ohne ext. Versorgung max. 200mA 2) 3)
• Wir empfehlen den USB-Isolator direkt am PC anzuschliessen (USB-Root-Port ohne USB-Hub) 1)
Die USB-Isolatoren sind nicht für medizintechnische Anwendungen freigegeben!

Schutz des DC-Eingangs:
Der ext. Versorgungseingang für das
USB-Gerät ist kurzschlussfest und
gegen Verpolung geschützt. Im Feh-
lerfall trennt eine selbstrückstellende
Sicherung die Versorgung. Die Rück-
stellzeit ist abhängig von der Stärke
der Überlastung und kann einige
Sekunden betragen.
1) Bei Anschluss an einen USB2.0 Host (Upstream), werden geräteseitig (Downstream) keine USB3.0 Geräte akzeptiert. Die Kaskadierung mehrerer USB-Isolatoren wird nicht unterstützt.
2) Externe Versorgung für ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO(-PS): das empfohlene Steckernetzteil (Art.-Nr. 141119) ist medizinisch zertiziert und stellt Ihrem USB 3.0 Gerät bis zu 900mA gemäß USB-Standard zur
Verfügung. Die Verwendung dieses Netzteils gewährleistet die Einhaltung der Spezikation des USB-Isolators. Das Steckernetzteil ist im Lieferumfang von ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-PS.
3) Externe Versorgung für ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: Zur Versorgung des USB-Geräts benötigen Sie eine externe Spannungsquelle im Bereich 10..36VDC, die min. 7 W zur Verfügung stellt.

Quickstart-Guide for ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO Series
Order of operation:
Connect the host port of the USB isolator with the USB port of your computer rst (matching USB cable included)
ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO: Connect the external power input U_EXT with a matching power adapter (included with ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-PS)
ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: connect an external power supply to U_EXT in the range of 10..36VDC. Note the correct polarity!
Connect the device port of the USB isolator with the USB device (e.g. USB oscilloscope)
Notes:
• The input for ext. DC supply is short-circuit-proof and protected against reverse polarity. Make sure that the specication
for U_EXT is met! (ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO: +5VDC, ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: 10..36VDC)
• Operation system support: Windows, MAC OS and Linux
• Isolation voltage ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO: 1kV (continuous), ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: 1.6kV (60 s)
• The max. length of the USB connection may not be exceeded (total length PC to device)
• With ext. power supply max. 900 mA for USB device, without ext. power supply max. 200mA 2) 3)
• We recommend to connect the USB isolator directly at the PC (USB root port without an USB hub 1)
The ALLDAQ USB 3.0 SuperSpeed USB isolator provides electrical isolation bet-
ween host PC and USB device. It prevents from over-voltage and ground loops
which are often causing interferences.
Warning: The USB isolaters are not certied for use in medical applications!
DC input protection:
The external power supply input
for the USB device is short-circuit-
proof protected against reverse
polarity. In case of a fault a re-
settable fuse interrupts the power.
The reset time depends on the
overload strength and can be some
seconds.

1) When connecting to an USB2.0 host (upstream), no USB 3.0 devices are accepted at device side (downstream). The cascading of several USB isolators is not supported.
2) External power supply for ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO(-PS): the recommended power adapter (art. no. 141119) is medical certied and provides 900 mA to your USB 3.0 device according to the USB stan-
dard. The usage of this power adapter guarantees that the specications of the USB isolator are met. The power adapter is included with ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-PS.
3) External power supply for ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-W: For power supply of the USB device an external power supply in the range of 10..36VDC providing 7 W minimum is required.
