KCA-801B Auxiliary Input Adapter Application
KCA-801B application 5/22/98
The long awaited, new and improved KCA-801B auxiliary input adapter is now
available and ready for shipment! Your Alpine multimedia customers need to wait
no more. The wait was well worth it because the new design is even more
immune to noise than before. In addition to a cleaner layout, the input trigger is
now positive so you can use the remote turn-on lead to switch the trigger and
stop worrying about current drain if the KCA-801B is left switched on. It now
comes with a 1 meter Ai-Net cable for easy hook-up between an Ai-Net/Ai-
Shuttle head unit and Ai-Net CD changer or Ai-Net processor. As an additional
bonus, certain Ai-Net/Ai-Shuttle units with selectable Audio Mute On/Off (CDA-
7949, CDA-7844, CDA-7842, CDA-7940, CDA-7832, CDA-7930, 3DA-7987,
3DA-7987S, MDA-W890, TDA-7559, TDA-7558, TDA-7554, TDA-7564) can use
the KCA-801B without the use of an Ai-Net CD changer. In order to do this, turn
the Audio Mute feature "OFF" (as described in the owner's manual) and use a
DPDT (double pole double throw) switch to activate the KCA-801B(+) and the
Audio Mute trigger(-) at the same time.
