MAKE THE CORRECT CONNECTIONS
Failure to make the proper connections may result in fire or product dam-

USE ONLY IN CARS WITH A 12 VOLT NEGATIVE GROUND
Use only in cars with a 12 volts negative (-) ground. (Check with your dealer
if you are not sure.) Failure to do so may result in fire, etc.
BEFORE WIRING, DISCONNECT THE CABLE FROM THE NEGATIVE BAT-
TERY TERMINAL
Before doing any electrical wiring, disconnect the cable from the negative (-)
terminal of the battery. Failure to do so may result in electric shock or injury
due to electrical shorts.
DO NOT ALLOW CABLES TO BECOME ENTANGLED IN SURROUND-
ING OBJECTS
Arrange wiring and cables in compliance with the manual to prevent ob-
structions when driving. Cables or wiring that obstructs or hangs up on places
such as the steering wheel, gear lever, brake pedals can be extremely haz-
ardous.
DO NOT SPLICE INTO ELECTRICAL CABLES
Never cut away the cables insulation to supply power to other equipment.
Doing so will exceed the current carrying capacity of the wire and result in
fire or electric shock.
DO NOT INSTALL IN LOCATIONS WHICH MIGHT HINDER VEHICLE OP-
ERATION
Do not install in locations which might create hazards for the vehicle occu-
pants or hinder vehicle operation (such as the steering wheel or gear shift)
by obstructing forward vision or hampering movement etc.
Points to Observe for Proper Product Installation and Usage
DO NOT DAMAGE PIPE OR WIRING WHEN DRILLING HOLES
When drilling holes in the chassis for installation, take precautions so as not
to contact, damage or obstruct pipes, fuel lines, tanks or electrical wiring.
Failure to take such precautions may result in fire.
DO NOT USE BOLTS OR NUTS IN THE BRAKE OR STEERING SYSTEMS
TO MAKE GROUND CONNECTIONS
Never use safety-related parts such as bolts or nuts in the brake or steering
systems, or tanks to make wiring installations or ground connections. Using
such parts could disable control of the vehicle and cause fire etc.
KEEP SMALL OBJECTS SUCH AS BATTERIES OUT OF THE REACH OF

experience. To ensure safety, always contact the dealer where you purchased
this unit to have the work done.

Be sure to use only the specified accessory parts. Use of other than desig-
nated parts may damage this unit internally or may not securely install the
unit in place causing parts to become loose resulting in hazards or product
failure.
DO NOT INSTALL IN LOCATIONS WITH HIGH MOISTURE OR DUST
Avoid installing the unit in locations with high incidence of moisture or dust.
Moisture or dust that penetrates into this unit may result in product failure.

seat rail or make contact with sharp or pointed edges which might damage

Note
Do not leave the Remote Control on the dashboard or seat where exposed to
direct sunlight and becomes extremely hot. Be sure to keep it in the glove box
when it is not in use.
Video Cassette Tape
Only video cassette tapes marked with can be used in this VCR.
Notes
• When bringing a tape suddenly from the cold outdoors into the warm tem-
perature inside the car, moisture may occur on the tape. Wait for several hours
until the tape is adjusted to the car temperature before using it as it may
cause damage.
• Do not leave a tape in the place such as on the dashboard or by the rear
window which is exposed to the direct sunlight and becomes extremely hot.

Before installation
• To prevent short circuits, remove the key from
the ignition and disconnect the battery’s (-) ter-
minal.
• The installation angle should be within 90° when
mounted horizontally.
• Do not try to mount the VCR using Velcro only.
• If this unit is mounted on its side or upside down,
it could cause damage to the unit.
• In case of problems when installing your VCR,
please contact your authorized ALPINE dealer.
Installation Location
Do not use or place this unit in the following loca-
tions. Doing so could cause damage to the unit.
• Places which are extremely cold.
• Locations exposed to direct sunlight (such as on
the rear Deck or the dashboard), or other places
where the temperature becomes abnormally
high, such as directly in the path of hot air from
the heater vent.
• Places where Internal Remote Eye of the unit is
exposed to direct sunlight, as the unit may not
function properly or not function at all when us-
ing the Remote Control.
• Places where the unit is likely to be trampled
when people are moving around in the vehicle,
such as a walk-through.
• Places where strong radio waves or magnetic
fields are generated. Valuable recordings may be
damaged from the effects of magnetic fields.

1. Mount the bracket.
2. Affix the velcro.
3. Fasten the unit in place.
Tip
Use Velcro to prevent the unit from swaying due
to vehicle vibrations. Affix the velcro to the posi-
tion where the unit is mounted to the vehicle body.

Connecting the Power Cord

Replacing the Fuse
This unit is equipped with a 5A (Ampere) fuse con-
nected to the DC power cable.
If the fuse blows as soon as it has been replaced,
please consult with the retailer where you pur-
chased the unit. Furthermore, do not use a fuse
with a higher rating than 5A under any circum-
stances.
Connection with a Monitor
This unit can be connected to any Video Monitor,
sold separately.
Connect the VIDEO/AUDIO OUT terminal to the
mobile monitor’s Video Input terminal.

Connecting other devices
❐External Remote Eye
When the unit is mounted in the trunk or luggage
compartment, etc., in a location where it is diffi-
cult to operate using the remote control, use the
accessory External Remote Eye.
Affix this device to the dashboard or other loca-
tion which is appropriate for operation using the
Remote Control.

When connecting to the CVA-1005 or TME-M750A
monitors, it is possible to use the supplied remote
control input wire to pass the signal from the moni-
tor to the VPE-V180A.
Notes
• Use this unit with the vehicle’s engine running. If
it is used with the engine stopped, the vehicle’s
battery will run down and it may become impos-
sible to start the engine.
• Be sure that the unit is turned Off before turning
the vehicle’s ignition key to the Off position. If it is
running when the ignition key is turned off, it could
cause the tape or unit to be damaged.
• If power is removed from the unit while it is oper-
ating (during playback, fast forward, rewind, etc.),
it could result in damage. Please be sure to eject
the tape from the unit before disconnecting power.
• To prevent damage to your tapes, always be sure
to press the Stop button before turning the
vehicle’s ignition key OFF.

Basic Operations
Playing a tape
1. Open the protection shutter.
2. Insert the tape into the cassette compart-
ment with the label side facing up.
When the tape has been loaded, close the pro-
tection shutter.
The unit turns on and starts playing automati-
cally if you insert a tape with its safety tab re-
moved. (Auto Power On/Auto Play)
3. Press (PLAY).
At the end of the tape, it will rewind and then
turn off automatically. ( Auto Rewind)
4. To stop playback, press (STOP).
5. To eject the tape, open the protection shut-
ter, then press (EJECT).
Playing/searching at various speeds

Search forward Press (FF) during playback
Search backward Press (REW) during playback
Fast-forward Press (FF) during stop
Rewind Press (REW) during stop
Slow motion Press (SLOW) during playback.

Tips
• To resume normal playback, press (PLAY).
• During Fast-forward/Rewind, press (FF)/
(REW) to change to search.
• During search, press (FF)/ (REW) to
change to Fast-forward/Rewind.
• Each press of (SLOW) in the slow playback
mode changes the slow speed by 2 steps.

Notes
• Do not insert hands or foreign objects in the cas-
sette compartment. Be particularly careful when
infants are present.
• When the tape has been removed, close the pro-
tection shutter.
• If still picture and Slow playback mode continues
for 5 minutes or longer, this unit will automati-
cally switch to playback mode to protect the tape
and video heads.

Adjusting the tracking
Although the unit automatically adjusts the track-
ing when playing a tape and blinks on the moni-
tor screen, distortion may occur if the tape was
recorded poorly. If so, manually adjust the track-
ing.
During Playback
• Press TRACKING/SELECT until the best
picture is obtained.
If you can not get a clear picture with manual
tracking, press (PLAY) for 2 seconds to re-
turn to auto tracking.
During Slow playback
• Press TRACKING/SELECT to move the
noise bars up and down.
During Still picture
• Press TRACKING/SELECT during still
picture to eliminate picture shake.
Note
The noise on the screen may not be completely re-
moved depending on the tape used, especially when
the tape has been recorded on another VCR.

Recording
Recording (Connections with a Camera)
Cautions concerning recording while driving.
Recording while you are driving can cause distur-
bances and noise to be recorded with the image.
Depending on the strength of the vibrations ap-
plied to this unit, programs may be impossible to
record correctly.
To connect a camera to the VCR
When a camera is connected, video and audio can
be recorded and played back by this unit. How-
ever, depending on the model, it may not be pos-
sible to make the proper connections. Please read
the operating instructions supplied with your cam-
era.

1. Connect the camera’s output terminals with this
unit’s VIDEO/AUDIO IN terminal.
2. Insert the tape into the VCR. Make sure its
record protection tab is intact. Turn on the
power. Select the recording speed by pressing
SP/EP.
3. Press REC simultaneously, then press
(PAUSE) to activate the record pause mode.
The REC indicator will blink.
4. Press (PAUSE) at the scene you would like
to record.
Start recording.
• When recording is completed, press (STOP).
• To stop recording temporarily, press (PAUSE).
Press again to resume recording.
To Prevent Erasure of Valuable Recordings
Break the record protection tab and remove it.
When you desire to record over a tape again, place
a piece of tape over the hole where the tab was.
Tip
If the Record Pause mode continues for 10 minutes
or longer, this unit will automatically switch to the
Stop mode to protect the tape and video heads.
Note
According to Copyright Law, programs recorded by
you with your VCR cannot be used for any purpose
other than personal enjoyment without the permis-
sion of the copyright holder.
AV Cable (Supplied)
CAUTION
Under certain conditions, a DVD player or an ad-
ditional VCR connected to the VIDEO/AUDIO IN
terminals will not playback properly. Depending
on the video software used, the copy protection
or the effect of deteriorated recordings may cause
a blue background to be displayed with no video
image. This is not a malfunction, but the nature
of the copy protection circuitry.
If you regularly view, copy protected videos,
please connect your video playback device di-
rectly to a monitor rather than through this unit.
You may need to use a separate switching device
if your monitor does not provide multiple input
terminals. (For details, contact the Alpine dealer
where you purchased this unit.)

Special functions
Selecting a language
You can select the on-screen display language, for
English, French or Spanish.
1. Press MENU, then press TRACKING/SE-
LECT to move the cursor to LANGUAGE.
2. Press ENTER to select the desired language.
3. Press MENU to return to normal monitor
screen.

REC INHIBIT • YES to deactivate the REC buttons. Pre-
vents accidental recording.
• NO to activate the REC buttons.
On Screen Display (OSD)
Operations can be confirmed by the display out-
put to the monitor screen. As each operation but-
ton is pressed, the content of the operation is dis-
played on the monitor screen for a few seconds.
• Press DISPLAY to call the On Screen Display.
Press again to change the counter to tape re-
main. To turn it off, press once more.

To use the tape counter
At the point on the tape that you want to find later,
press RESET. The counter in the monitor screen
resets to “0:00:00”. Search for the point after-
wards by referring to the counter.
Note
The tape remaining display is only an approxima-
tion.
Depending on the tape used, the tape remaining dis-
play takes time and the correct amount remaining
may not be displayed.

Index Search Function
You can easily locate the desired program using
the index signal registered on the tape.
An index signal is automatically registered when a
recording starts, or press INDEX at a desired point
during recording.
Index Scan
This function plays back the tape for about 5 sec-
onds at each index signal.
1. Press INDEX during playback or stop mode.
2. Press (REW) or (FF) to search in the
reverse or forward direction.
3. Press (PLAY) when the desired program is
found. Normal playback starts.
Index Search
This function fast-forwards or rewinds the tape to
the point at which the selected index signal is reg-
istered, and starts playback from there.
1. Press INDEX during playback or stop mode.
2. Press TRACKING/SELECT correspond-
ing to the direction where your desired program
is located. Each time the button is pressed, the
number decreases or increases respectively.
3. Press (REW) or (FF) to search in the
reverse or forward direction. When the point is
found, playback will start automatically
Tip
• An index signal is not registered when the VCR
is in the recording pause mode and recording
restarts.
• You can set up index numbers to a maximum of
±99.
• Index search function is cancelled when the
(PLAY) or (STOP) is pressed.
Special functions - Continued
Auto operation function
Auto Repeat
When the tape ends, it rewinds and plays auto-
matically. Then the function repeats while the auto
repeat mode is activated.
•Press (PLAY) during playback.
The indicator appears on the monitor screen.
Press again to cancel this feature.
Auto play after rewinding
•Press (PLAY) for more than 3 seconds during
rewinding to start playback automatically after
rewinding.
The indicator appears on the monitor screen.
Press (STOP) to cancel this feature.
Auto Power-off after rewinding
•Press POWER during rewinding to turn off auto-
matically after rewinding.
The indicator appears on the monitor screen.
Press (STOP) to cancel this feature.
Additional Information
Moisture indicator
The MOISTURE indicator and an on-screen mes-
sage will inform you if the unit reaches abnormal
temperature or condensation levels. As a result,
the unit will not operate until it dries out sufficiently.
When the MOISTURE indicator blinks, leave the
unit on for approximately a few hours to allow it to
dry out completely.
Note
Be sure to wait for the MOISTURE indicator to stop
blinking before turning the unit off. If the unit is
turned off before the indicator stops blinking, the
next time it is turned on, the indicator will blink again
for several minutes.
In areas where the interior of the vehicle becomes
extremely hot or cold, allow the temperature to re-
turn to a comfortable level before operating the VCR.
Do not leave tapes in your vehicle or in the VCR as
extreme temperature will damage the cassette.

Symptom Remedy
The POWER button does not function.
The power is turned on but the unit does not
operate.
The picture is not clear.
No picture on Monitor screen during playback
or recording.
Unable to record.
No Remote Control operation.
• Turn the ignition on.
• Check connections and correct any problems.
• Check the vehicle’s battery voltage.
• Moisture condensation. Allow unit to dry for 1
hour or more.
• Adjust the tracking with TRACKING/SELECT
buttons.
• Check the connection between the Monitor and
VCR, then connect them properly.
• Have the video heads cleaned (with a cleaning
tape sold separately)
• The safety tab of the tape is removed. Cover
the hole with adhesive tape.
• Make sure the tape is not at its end.
• Set “REC INHIBIT” to “NO” in the MENU
screen.
• Remove any obstacle between the Remote
Control and the VCR.
• Replace batteries with new ones. Insert them
correctly.
• Make sure you are pointing the Remote Control
at the remote sensor on the unit.
Cautions Concerning Maintenance
• Plastic is used extensively in the front of the cabinet. If it is wiped with benzene or paint thinner,
etc., it could cause deterioration or pealing of the paint finish, etc., so avoid use of such cleaners.
• Please wipe off dirt on the cabinet or operating panel with a soft cloth. When the product becomes
dirty use a cloth dampened with a non-abrasive or non-harsh cleaning solution. Wring the cloth out
completely, then wipe. Dry the finish by wiping with a dry cloth.
• Do not allow volatile substances, such as insecticides, on the cabinet. Also, do not leave products
made of rubber or vinyl, etc. in contact with this unit for long periods of time. Doing so could cause
damage to the products finish.

AVANT LE CABLAGE, DECONNECTER LE CABLE DE LA BORNE NEGA-
TIVE DE LA BATTERIE
Avant d’effectuer le câblage électrique, déconnecter le câble de la borne
négative (–) de la batterie. La non-observation risque de se traduire par une
décharge électrique ou des blessures dues au court-circuitage.
NE PAS LAISSER LES CABLES S’EMMELER AVEC LES OBJETS ENVIRONNANTS
Arranger les câbles conformément au manuel pour éviter toute obstruction
pendant la conduite. Des câbles gênants ou pendant à des emplacements
comme le volant, le levier de vitesses, la pédale de frein peuvent être extrê-
mement dangereux.
NE PAS EPISSER LES CABLES ELECTRIQUES
Ne jamais couper l’isolant d’un câble pour alimenter un autre appareil. Cela
conduira au dépassement de la capacité porteuse du câble et pourra se tra-
duire par un incendie ou une décharge électrique.
NE PAS INSTALLER A DES EMPLACEMENTS POUVANT GENER LA CON-
DUITE
Ne pas installer l’appareil à des endroits pouvant s’avérer dangereux pour
les occupants de la voiture ou gêner la conduite (comme le volant ou le
levier de vitesses) en obstruant la visibilité avant ou en gênant le mouve-
ment etc.

NE PAS ENDOMMAGER LES TUYAUX OU CABLAGES EN PERCANT DES TROUS
En perçant des trous dans le châssis pour installer l’appareil, prendre garde
de ne pas arriver au contact, endommager ou obstruer des tuyaux, condui-
tes de carburant, réservoirs ou câblages électriques. Cela pourrait entraîner
un incendie.
NE PAS UTILISER DES BOULONS OU ECROUS DU SYSTEME DE FREI-
NAGE OU DE DIRECTION POUR METTRE A LA MASSE
Ne jamais utiliser des pièces liées à la sécurité, comme les boulons ou écrous
des systèmes de freinage ou de direction, ou réservoirs pour le câblage ou

Remarques
• En apportant la bande directement d’un extérieur froid dans la chaleur du
véhicule, de l’humidité peut apparaître sur la bande. Laisser la bande s’ajuster
à la température de la voiture pendant plusieurs heures avant de l’utiliser
pour éviter les dommages.
• Ne pas laisser la bande à un endroit comme le tableau de bord ou sur la lu-
nette arrière, exposée en plein soleil et qui peut devenir très chaude.

Avant d’installation
• Pour éviter tout court-circuit, retirez la clé de con-
tact et débranchez la borne (-) de la batterie.
• L’angle d’installation ne doit pas dépasser 90°
lors d’une installation horizontale.
• Ne pas essayer d’installer le magnétoscope avec
seulement du Velcro.
• Installer cet appareil sur le côté ou à l’envers peut
l’endommager.
• En cas de difficultés durant l’installation de votre
magnétoscope, veuillez contacter votre reven-
deur ALPINE autorisé.
Endroit d’installation
Ne pas utiliser ou placer cet appareil dans les en-
droits suivants pour éviter tout endommagement.
• Les endroits excessivement froids.
• Les endroits exposés à la lumière directe du so-
leil (par exemple la plage arrière ou le tableau de
bord) ou tout autre endroit où la température
pourrait être anormalement élevée, par exem-
ple directement sous l’air chaud en provenance
des bouches de chauffage.
• Les endroits où le capteur de télécommande in-
terne de l’appareil est exposé au soleil, car il se
peut que l’appareil ne fonctionne pas correcte-
ment ou ne fonctionne pas du tout avec la télé-
commande.
• Les endroits où les gens pourraient marcher sur
l’appareil, par exemple dans le passage entre les
sièges.
• Les endroits où de fortes ondes radio ou des
champs magnétiques sont générés. Les
enregistremens auxquels vous tenez pourraient
être endommagés par les champs magnétiques.

Au raccordement d’un moniteur CVA-1005 ou

Remarques
• Utilisez ce dispositif lorsque le moteur tourne. Si
utilisé alors que le moteur ne tourne pas, la batte-
rie du véhicule sera à plat au bout d’un certain
temps et il vous sera impossible de mettre en mar-
che le moteur.
• Assurez-vous de mettre ce dispositif hors tension
avant de couper le contact. Si il est sous tension
lorsque le moteur est éteint, la cassette ou l’appa-
reil pourraient être abîmés.
• Si l’alimentation de l’appareil est interrompu du-
rant son utilisation (durant la lecture, l’avance ra-
pide, le rembobinage, etc...), il y aura risque de
dommage. Veuillez vous assurer de retirer la cas-
sette de l’appareil avant de le débrancher.
• Pour préserver vos cassettes, veuillez toujours ap-
puyer sur la touche Stop avant de couper le con-
tact.

Utilisation de base
Lecture d’une cassette
1. Ouvrez la fermeture de protection.
2. Chargez la cassette dans son logement, éti-
quette vers le haut.
La cassette chargée, fermez la fermeture de
protection.
L’appareil est sous tension et commence auto-
matiquement la lecture d’une cassette intro-
duite dont la languette de protection a été reti-
rée. (Marche auto/ Lecture auto)
3. Appuyez sur (PLAY).
A la fin de la cassette, elle se rembobinera et
l’appareil sera automatiquement mis hors ten-
sion. (Rembobinage auto)
4. Pour interrompre la lecture, appuyez sur
(STOP).
5. Pour éjecter la cassette, ouvrez la fermeture
de protection, puis appuyez sur (EJECT).
Lecture/recherche à différentes vitesses
Pour Action
Une recherche avant Appuyez sur (FF) durant la lecture.

Remarques
• Ne pas introduire les mains ou d’objets dans le lo-
gement de la cassette. Faire particulièrement at-
tention avec les très jeunes enfants.
• Lorsque la cassette a été retirée, fermer la ferme-
ture de protection.
• Si les modes d’image figée et de lecture au ralenti
sont utilisés pendant 5 minutes ou plus, cet appa-
reil passera automatiquement en mode de lecture
pour protéger la cassette et les têtes du magné-
toscope.
Réglage de l’image
Réglage de l’alignement
Bien que l’appareil règle automatiquement l’aligne-
ment à la lecture d’une cassette et que clignote
sur l’écran du moniteur, des distorsions sont pos-
sible si l’enregistrement sur la cassette n’est pas
de bonne qualité. Dans ce cas, ajuster manuelle-
ment l’enregistrement.
Durant la lecture
• Appuyez sur TRACKING/SELECT jus-
qu’à obtention de la meilleure image possible.
Si une image nette ne peut être obtenue en ef-
fectuant un réglage manuel de l’alignement,
appuyez sur (PLAY) pendant 2 secondes pour
repasser à l’alignement automatique.
Durant la lecture au ralenti
• Appuyez sur TRACKING/SELECT pour
déplacer les barres du sonomètre vers le haut
et le bas.
Durant l’affichage d’une image figée
• Appuyez sur TRACKING/SELECT durant
l’affichage d’une image figée pour éliminer les
vibrations de l’écran de l’image.
Remarque
Selon la cassette utilisée, il ne sera pas toujours pos-
sible d’éliminer les parasites de l’écran, surtout si l’en-
registrement de la cassette a été effectuée avec un
autre magnétoscope.

Enregistrement (Branchements à une
caméra)
Consignes concernant l’enregistrement durant
la conduite.
Lorsque vous enregistrez tout en conduisant, il se
peut que des perturbations ou des parasites soient
enregistrés selon la force des vibrations subies par
l’appareil, ou il se peut que certains programmes
ne puissent être correctement enregistrés.
Brancher une caméra au magnétoscope
Lorsqu’une caméra est branchée, il est possible
d’enregistrer le son et l’image et d’en effectuer la
lecture. Toutefois, selon le modèle, il n’est pas
toujours possible d’effectuer des branchements.
Veuillez lire la notice d’emploi fournie avec votre
caméra.

Enregistrement
1. Branchez les bornes de sortie de la caméra à la
borne d’entrée VIDEO/AUDIO de l’appareil.
2. Insérez la cassette dans le magnétoscope. Vé-
rifiez que la languette de protection est intacte.
Mettez l’appareil sous tension. Sélectionnez la
vitesse d’enregistrement en appuyant sur SP/
EP.
3. Appuyez en même temps sur REC puis sur
(PAUSE) pour activer le mode de pause d’en-
registrement. Le témoin REC clignotera.
4. Appuyez sur (PAUSE) à la scène que vous
désirez enregistrer. Commencez l’enregistre-
ment.
• A la fin de l’enregistrement, appuyez sur
(STOP).
• Pour interrompre temporairement l’enregistre-
ment, appuyez sur (PAUSE).
Appuyez de nouveau sur cette touche pour re-
commencer l’enregistrement.
Pour éviter d’effacer des enregistrements
auxquels vous tenez
Brisez la languette de protection et retirez-la. Pour
à nouveau utiliser cette cassette, collez du ruban
adhésif à l’emplacement de la languette.
Conseil
Si le mode Pause d’enregistrement est utilisé pen-
dant 10 minutes ou plus, cet appareil s’arrêtera auto-
matiquement pour protéger la cassette et les têtes
du magnétoscope.
Remarque
Conformément aux lois sur les droits d’auteur, tout
programme que vous enregistrez à l’aide de ce ma-
gnétoscope ne peut faire l’objet d’un usage autre
que personnel sans l’autorisation préalable du dé-
tenteur des droits d’auteur.

ATTENTION
Sous certaines conditions, le lecteur DVD ou le
magnétoscope additionnel raccordé à la prise VI-
DEO/AUDIO IN peut ne pas reproduire correcte-
ment. Selon le logiciel vidéo utilisé, la protection
contre la copie ou l’effet d’enregistrement dété-
riorés peuvent donner lieu à un fond bleu qui sera
affiché sans image. Il ne s’agit pas d’une anoma-
lie, mais est dû à la nature du circuit de protec-
tion contre la copie.
Si vous visionnez souvent des vidéos protégées
contre la copie, raccordez votre dispositif de lec-
ture vidéo directement à un moniteur plutôt que
via cet appareil. Il vous faudra peut-être utiliser
un dispositif de commutation séparé si votre mo-
niteur n’a pas de prises d’entrée multiples. (Pour

Sélection d’une langue
Il est possible de sélectionner l’anglais, le français
ou l’espagnol comme langue d’affichage.
1. Appuyez sur MENU, puis sur TRACKING/
SELECT pour mettre le curseur sur

Affichage à l’écran (OSD)
Il est possible de confirmer toute opération grâce
à l’affichage sur l’écran. A chaque fois qu’une tou-
che de fonction est pressée, l’opération est affi-
chée à l’écran pendant quelques secondes.
• Appuyez sur DISPLAY (affichage) pour obtenir
l’Affichage à l’écran (OSD). Appuyez de nouveau
sur cette touche pour afficher le temps restant
sur la cassette. Appuyez une nouvelle fois pour
quitter ce mode.

Utilisation du compteur cassette
A l’endroit de la cassette que vous aimeriez re-
trouver plus tard, appuyez sur RESET (remise à
zéro). Le compteur affichera “0:00:00”. Recher-
chez plus tard cet endroit en vous servant du comp-
teur.
Remarque
La longueur de cassette restante affichée est approxi-
mative. Selon la cassette utilisée, la longueur res-
tante ne sera pas nécessairement affichée immédia-
tement, et il se peut que l’exacte longueur restante
ne soit pas affichée.

Appuyez sur AUDIO pour sélectionner le son sou-
haité.

Fonction de recherche par index
Vous pouvez trouver facilement le programme de
votre choix à l’aide du signal d’index enregistré
sur la cassette.
Un signal d’index est automatiquement enregistré
lors du début d’un enregistrement, ou appuyez sur
INDEX à l’endroit souhaité durant l’enregistrement.
Balayage des index
Cette fonction fait la lecture de la cassette pen-
dant 5 secondes à chaque signal d’index.
1. Appuyez sur la touche INDEX durant la lecture
ou à l’arrêt.
2. Appuyez sur la touche (REW) ou (FF)
pour effectuer une recherche arrière ou avant.
3. Appuyez sur la touche (PLAY) lorsque vous
avez trouvé le programme souhaité. La lecture
normale est effectuée.
Recherche par index
Cette fonction avance rapidement ou rembobine
la cassette jusqu’à l’endroit où le signal d’index
sélectionné est enregistré, puis commence la lec-
ture à partir de cet endroit.
1. Appuyez sur INDEX durant la lecture ou à l’ar-
rêt.
2. Appuyez sur TRACKING/SELECT suivant
la direction que vous désirez suivre pour trou-
ver le programme de votre choix. A chaque fois
que vous appuyez sur cette touche, le chiffre
diminue ou augmente, respectivement.
3. Appuyez sur (REW) ou (FF) pour une
recherche arrière ou avant. Lorsque l’endroit est
trouvé, la lecture commence automatiquement.
Conseil
• Le magnétoscope n’enregistre pas de signal d’in-
dex lorsqu’une pause est effectuée au milieu
d’un enregistrement et que l’enregistrement est
recommencé.
Fonctions spéciales - suite
• Vous pouvez sélectionner des numéros d’index
jusqu’à ±99.
• La recherche par index est annulée lorsque la
touche (PLAY) ou la touche (STOP) est
pressée.
Fonctions automatiques
Répétition automatique
A la fin de la cassette, celle-ci se rembobine et la
lecture se fait automatiquement. Puis la fonction
répète cette action lorsque le mode de répétition
automatique est activé.
•Appuyez sur (PLAY) durant la lecture.
Le témoin apparaît à l’écran. Appuyez de nou-
veau sur la touche pour annuler cette fonction.
Lecture automatique après le rembobinage
•Appuyez sur (PLAY) pour plus de 3 secondes
durant le rembobinage pour que la lecture s’ef-
fectue automatiquement après le rembobinage.
Le témoin apparaît à l’écran. Appuyez de nou-
veau sur la touche (STOP) pendant plus de 3
secondes pour annuler cette fonction.
Mise hors tension automatique après le
rembobinage
•Appuyez sur POWER durant le rembobinage pour
mettre automatiquement hors tension l’appareil
après le rembobinage.
Le témoin apparaît à l’écran. Appuyez de nou-
veau sur la touche (STOP) pour annuler cette
fonction.
Informations supplémentaires
Témoin d’humidité
Le témoin MOISTURE (humidité) et un message
sur écran vous informeront si l’appareil atteint un
niveau de température ou d’humidité anormal.
L’appareil ne fonctionnera pas tant qu’il ne sera
pas suffisamment sec. Lorsque le témoin
MOISTURE clignote, laissez l’appareil sous ten-
sion pendant quelques heures pour lui permettre
de sécher complètement.
Remarque
Attendez bien que le témoin MOISTURE s’arrête de
clignoter avant de mettre l’appareil hors tension.
Sinon, à la mise sous tension suivante, l’indicateur
se remettra à clignoter pendant quelque minutes.
Dans les zones où l’intérieur de la voiture devient
très chaud ou froid, attendez que la température
revienne à un niveau agréable pour faire fonction-
ner le magnétoscope. Ne laissez pas les cassettes dans
la voiture ou dans le magnétoscope, car les tempé-
ratures extrêmes pourraient les endommager.
