Caution

Caution
TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
1. Briskly stir or pour liquids before heating with
microwaveenergyto prevent spontaneous boiling
or eruption. Do not overheat. If air is not mixed
intoa liquid, liquid canerupt in oven orafter removal
fromoven.
2. Donotdeep fat fry in oven.Fat could overheat and
behazardousto handle.
3. Do not cook or reheat eggs in shell or with an
unbrokenyolk using microwave energy.Pressure
may build up and erupt. Pierce yolk with fork or
knifebeforecooking.
4. Pierce skin of potatoes, tomatoes, and similar
foodsbeforecookingwithmicrowaveenergy. When
skin is pierced, steam escapes evenly.
5. Poppopcornin microwave mode only. If oven is
preheatedorhot, allow oven to cool before popping
popcorn or bag may ignite.
6. Use only popcorn in packages designed and
labeledformicrowaveuse.Poppingtimevaries
dependingon oven wattage. Do not continue toheat
after popping has stopped. Popcorn will scorch or
burn. Donotleaveovenunattended.
7. Donotuse regular cooking thermometers in oven.
Most cooking thermometers contain mercury and
may cause an electrical arc, malfunction, or
damageto oven.
8. Do not heat baby bottles in oven.
9. Do not use metal utensils in oven except when
recommendedby microwave food manufacturers.
10. Never use paper, plastic, or other combustible
materials that are not intended for cooking.
11. When cooking with paper, plastic, or other
combustiblematerials,followmanufacturer's
recommendationson product use.
12. Do not use paper towels which contain nylon or
other synthetic fibers. Heated synthetics could
melt and cause paper to ignite.
13. Do not heat sealed containers or plastic bags
in oven. Food or liquid could expand quickly and
cause container or bag to break. Pierce or open
containerorbagbeforeheating.
PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE
TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY
a. DO NOT attempt to operate this oven with the
dooropen since open-door operation can result in
harmful exposureto microwave energy. It is
important not to defeat or tamper with the safety
interlocks.
b. DO NOT place any object between the oven front
face and the door or allow soil or cleaner
residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
c. DO NOT operate the oven if it is damaged. It is
particularlyimportant that the ovendoor close
properly and that there is no damage to the: (1) door
(bent),(2) hinges and latches (brokenorloosened),
(3)door seals and sealingsurfaces.
d. TheovenshouldNOT be adjusted or repairedby
anyoneexceptproperlyqualified service
personnel.

Unpacking Equipment
• Inspect equipment for damage such as dents in
dooror dents inside oven cavity.
• Report any dents or breakage to source of
purchase immediately. Do not attempt to use
equipmentif damaged.
• Removeallmaterialsfromoveninterior.
• If equipment has been stored in extremely cold
area,waita few hours before connecting power.
Equipment Placement
• Do not install equipment next to or above source of
heat, such as pizza oven or deep fat fryer. This
couldcausemicrowaveoventooperateimproperly
and could shorten life of electrical parts.
• Allowair flow around oven. Air flows aroundelectric
components. Oven requires at least 1 inch of
clearanceat top and sidesof equipment to provide
properventilation. With restricted air flow oven may
not operate properly and life of electrical parts is
reduced.
• Do not block or obstruct oven filter. Allow access
forcleaning.
Radio Interference
Microwaveovenoperationmay cause interference to
radio,television, or similar equipment. Reduceor
eliminateinterferenceby doing the following:
• Cleandoorandsealingsurfacesofovenaccording
to instructions in Care and Cleaning section.
• Place radio, television, etc. as far as possible
fromoven.
• Usea properly installed antennaon radio,
television, etc. to obtain stronger signal reception.
Installation
WARNING
IMPROPER USE OF THE GROUNDING PLUG CAN RESULT
IN A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK OR DEATH.
This appliance MUST be grounded. In the event of an electrical
shortcircuit, groundingreduces therisk ofelectricshock byproviding
an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is equipped
withacordhavingagroundingwirewithagroundingplug.The plug
mustbeplugged intoan outletthatisproperlyinstalled andgrounded.
DO NOT use a two-prong adapter.
Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding
instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to
whether the appliance is properly grounded.
Donotusean extension cord. If the product power cord is too short,
have a qualified electrician install a three-slot receptacle. This oven
should be plugged into a separate 60 hertz circuit with the electrical
ratingas shownin theappropriate drawingat left.When amicrowave
oven is on a circuit with other appliances, an increase in cooking
times may be required and fuses can be blown.

Operation
Cooking/Defrosting with Preset Pads
1. Openovendoor, place food in oven, and closedoor.
• Fan turns on.
2. Pressdesirednumberpad.Ovenoperates
accordingtoprogramming.
• If pad is pressed and signal is heard, but no
numbers appear in display, door is not completely
latched.
• If pad is pressed and colon illuminates, but oven
doesnot operate, pad isprogrammed for zero
time.
3. When time elapses, signal sounds, and “DONE”
displays.
• Removefoodfromoven.
• Oven is ready for next heating cycle.
• Ifno pads are pressed ovenblowershuts down in
60 seconds.
Interrupt or Canceling Cooking/Defrosting
• Openand close oven doorto cancel error or
interrupt cooking cycle. When cooking cycle is
interrupted, time erases.
• Ifdoor is open while ovenisdefrosting, defrost
cycle pauses until oven door is closed. Time is
noterased.
• To erase defrost time, close door, press pad
programmedfor100percent power,andopen
door.

One or Two-Stage Cooking/Defrosting

Program pads to heat food up to 39 minutes 59 seconds
at100percent power or defrost power level.
1. Openovendoor.
2. Press 6, 1, and 4 pad to enter programming mode.
3. Closeoven door.
• “PROG”displays indicating programming mode.
4. Press numberpadto be reprogrammed.
• Ovenshowspadnumber,heating time and
Cook/Defrostindicator in display.

Clearing Display of Random Digits
Ifincorrectnumbersarepressedduringprogramming
mode, random digits and letters may display during
cooking and standby periods. To clear display:
1. Openovendoor.
2. Press 6 , 1 , and 5 pad.
3. Closeoven door.
4. Press 1 pad until “5E” displays.
5. Open and close oven door to exit.

Oven Light
Caution
To avoid electrical shock hazardunplugpower cord or
opencircuitbreakerto microwave oven before
replacinglight bulb. After replacinglight bulb,
reconnectpower.

Wear gloves to protect hands should bulb break.
If hot, allow bulb to cool.
To change oven light:
1. Disconnectpowersupply to oven.
2. Removescrew from and open coveronaccess door
onback of oven.
3. Removebulb by turning counterclockwise, being
careful not to burn fingers or break bulb.
• Replace bulb with 15 watt,120 volt candelabra
basebulb.
4. Close access door and replace access screw.
5. Plugin oven.

Utensil Check Test
Use following test to check if utensils are
microwave-safe.
1. Place glass measuring cup of water next to
empty dish to be tested in unit.
2. Heatonfull power for one minute.
3. Check temperature of tested dish.
• If dish remains cool and water is hot, dish is
microwave-safe.
• If dish is slightly warm, use for short term cooking
only.
• If dish is hot and water is cool, do not use. Dish
remainscool if not absorbing microwaves and
microwavesarebeing absorbed by water. Dish
becomeshotifabsorbing microwaves.

Before Calling for Service
Ifoven does notoperate
• Confirmoven is plugged into dedicatedcircuit.
• Confirmovenis on grounded and polarized circuit.
(Contactelectrician to confirm)
• Check fuse or circuit breaker.
Ifovenlightdoesnotwork
• Confirm light bulb is screwed in tightly.
• Confirmlight bulb is not defective.
Ifovenoperatesintermittently
• Checkfilter inlet and dischargeareas
forobstructions.
Ifovenmalfunctions
• Unplugoven, wait for 1 minute, and plugin oven.
Ifoven operates, but will not heat food
• Place one cup cool water in oven. Heat for one
minute.If water temperature doesnot rise, oven is
operatingincorrectly.
Warning
To avoid electrical shock which can cause severe
personal injury or death, do not remove outer case at
anytime. Only authorized servicer should remove
outer case.
Cleanoven frequently to maximize ovenlife,performance,
and efficiency. A dirty oven cooks inefficiently because
moisture,spills,andgreaseabsorbmicrowaveenergy.
Interior, Exterior, and Door
Cleanmicrowaveovenwithmilddetergentinwarmwater
using soft sponge or cloth. Wring sponge or cloth to
removeexcesswaterbefore wiping equipment. If desired,
boil a cup of water in microwave oven to loosen soil
beforecleaning.
• Donot use abrasive cleansersor cleaners
containingammonia. These could damage finish.
• Neverpour water into microwave oven bottom.
• Do not use water pressure type cleaning systems.
Splatter Shield
Splattershield keeps top of microwave oven cavityand
antennafrom becoming soiled. Clean soil from shield
with damp cloth or clean with mild detergent and water.
