First use
Checking the food processor and package contents
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a
sharp knife or other pointed object, you may quickly damage
the food processor.
− For this reason, be very careful when opening the
packaging.
1. Take the food processor out of the packaging and check whether the food
processor or any of the individual parts are damaged. If this is the case,
do not use the food processor. Contact the manufacturer via the service
address indicated on the warranty card.
2. Check to make sure that all components and accessories have been
received (see fig. A).
Preparing for use
− Remove the packaging material and all protective wrappings.
− Thoroughly clean all parts of the food processor before first use as described
in the chapter “Cleaning”.
Operation
WARNING!
Risk of injury!
Handling the food processor improperly may result in injury.
− Do not connect the food processor to a socket until you
have properly assembled the bowl and lid and place them
on the main unit. The food processor is equipped with an
interlock device, which prevents functioning when the
lid is not properly located and the bowl is not properly
inserted.
− Blades are sharp, handle them with care.

Operation
15
− Make sure the food processor is unplugged before
cleaning it, or removing or installing attachments.
− Do not remove food from the sides of the bowl while the
food processor is operating. Switch the food processor off
and then unplug it before removing the food from the
bowl.
− To prevent personal injuries and appliance damage,
always keep hands and kitchenware out of the operating
area of the chopping blade and whipping disc.
− Do not use fingers to remove food from the sides of the
bowl while the food processor is functioning. Always
use the appropriate spatula after the food processor
has stopped rotating and has been switched off and
unplugged.
CAUTION!
Risk from poor hygiene!
Improper food handling may result in food poisoning.
− Wash your hands regularly before and during food
preparation.
− Always check that all work equipment is absolutely clean.
− Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact
with food, refer to the chapter “Cleaning the accessories”.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the food processor may result in damage
to the food processor.
− Do not use the food processor in continuous operation.
The maximum recommended operating time is 30 seconds.
Allow a pause of 2 minutes after each use for cooling
down. There is a risk of overheating if the food processor is
operated for longer periods.
− Do not insert food above the MAX line indicated on the
bowl.

Operation
16
− Make sure the lid is properly locked before starting the
food processor.
• DO NOT fill the bowl above the MAX line when liquid ingredients
are being processed.
• For better control, process the food by pressing the operating
buttons briefly. Check consistency and continue if desired.
• For better results, process only small amounts of food at a time.
• To make bread crumbs, tear bread into pieces before processing.
Similarly, break crackers or cookies into pieces before processing
to make crumbs for use in a cheesecake base or pie crusts. Before
processing make sure the bowl, lid and chopping blade are
completely dry.
• To chop carrots, celeries, mushrooms, green peppers or onions,
cut into 1-inch chunks before processing for more uniform
consistency. Use the reducer to chop small quantities of nuts,
parsley, basil, chives, or garlic.
• Puree small amounts of cooked fruit or vegetables for baby
food or use as a base for sauces or soups. Ensure the food is
sufficiently homogenized before giving them to children.
• Do not process raw meat.
• Some ingredients such as coffee beans, baking chocolate, or
whole or hard spices may damage the plastic parts and are not
recommended to be processed by the food processor.
1. Put the bowl 5onto the motor shaft 6of the main unit 8with the
handle on the left corner. Secure the bowl by rotating it counterclockwise
until it locks in the middle (see fig. B).
2. For chopping, mount the chopping blade 3into the bowl. Press it
downwards until it locks into place (see step 1 in fig. C).
For whipping, mount the whipping disc 4into the bowl. Press it
downwards until it locks into place (see step 2 in fig. C).
3. Cut the food into small pieces (approx. 0.6 × 0.6 inch) and put them into the
bowl.
In case of a small amount of ingredients, for instance chopping nuts, garlic
or chilies, place the reducer 2on the chopping blade. This will make small
quantities of food more evenly chopped (see fig. D).
4. Place the lid 1onto the bowl by aligning the handle to the sign. Secure the
lid by rotating it counterclockwise so that its rear flap perfectly engages in
the slot (see fig. E).
5. Connect the power cord to a power socket.

Operation
17
6. Press and hold the operating button 7on the right side to switch the food
processor on. For best results, only keep the operating button pressed for a
very short time (within 1 second).
For a smoothly chopped result, you may need to scrape the sides of the
bowl down using a spatula. This should only be done after the food
processor has been switched off and unplugged.
If it is necessary to add food when the food processor is in use, release the
operating button to switch the food processor off, then add the ingredients
required, replace the lid and continue to mix.
Press and hold the operating button on the left side to use the reverse
mode. This will operate the blade counterclockwise and simply mix the
ingredients rather than chop. This also allows the food processor to knead
and mix ingredients that do not require the sharp edge of the chopping
blade.
7. When food processing is done, release the operating button to switch the
food processor off.
8. Unplug the power cord from the power socket.
9. Remove the lid and then the chopping blade or whipping disc.
10. Remove the bowl and empty the processed food.
11. Clean the main unit and all accessories after each use (see chapter
“Cleaning”).
