Before first use
Before initial use, please wipe down the grill/griddle with a soft damp cloth and
make sure there is no metal or foreign objects on the temperature probe.
NOTE: During first use, the grill/griddle may give off a slight odor. This is due to
the newness of the product and will dissipate with use.
Set up before use
1. Unpack the grill/griddle and other necessary parts from the box.
2. Remove any unwanted packaging materials such as cardboard, plastics or
styrofoam.
3. Wipe clean all the parts with a soft damp cloth or sponge. Rinse and dry
thoroughly.
4. Assemble all the parts to the grill/griddle.
5. Place base on a heat resistant stable surface in a well-ventilated area.
6. Select ribbed grill side or smooth griddle side and place it on the base.
7. Make sure the temperature probe is turned to “O” OFF. Insert temperature
probe into the receptacle in the handle. Plug the power supply cord into a wall
outlet.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed.
PLEASE READ AND SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USING THE REVERSIBLE
GRILL/GRIDDLE. KEEP AWAY FROM WATER!
1. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse grill/griddle, probe, power
cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
2. If the power cord is damaged, the manufacturer or qualified electrician must
replace it to avoid hazard.
3. Do not use outdoors or while standing in a damp area.
4. Do not leave the grill/griddle unattended while in use.
5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is being used by or near
children. This grill/griddle is not for use by children.
6. Do not operate the grill/griddle with a damaged power cord or plug or after it
has malfunctioned or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the
grill/griddle to the warranty center for examination, repair, or electrical or
mechanical adjustment or contact customer service.
7. Do not use any other temperature probe other than what is provided by the
manufacturer. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the
grill/griddle manufacturer may cause injuries.
8. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch
any hot surface.
9. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use. For household use only.
10. DO not place on or near hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Always attach the temperature probe to the grill/griddle before plugging cord
into the wall outlet.
12. To disconnect, turn the temperature probe knob to “O” OFF, then remove the
plug from the wall outlet. Never leave the grill/griddle connected to the
power outlet when not in use or when cleaning.
13. Do not clean the grill/griddle with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off
from the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electrical shock.
14. Caution should be taken when handling this grill/griddle during and
immediately after cooking.
15. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles or knobs.

16. Do not move the grill/griddle while in use.
17. When in use, keep the grill/griddle a minimum of 10-12 inches away from
walls and do not use under any overhang such as a cupboard. Place on a
stable, horizontal, heat resistant surface in a well-ventilated area.
18. The temperature of nearby surfaces may become hot when the grill/griddle is
operating.
19. Extreme caution must be used when moving the grill/griddle containing hot
oil or other hot liquids.
20. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
21. For life-long performance of the grill/griddle, avoid dropping anything on the
heating element.
22. Use only suitable utensils for non-stick surfaces to avoid scratching the
surface.
23. ALWAYS ALLOW THE GRILL/GRIDDLE TO COOL COMPLETELY BEFORE
CLEANING. Remove the temperature probe before cleaning.

WARNING! Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. The
warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot
cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood
by the operator that common sense and caution are a factor which cannot be
built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal
injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords are available from local hardware stores and may be used if care
is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is required, special care and caution
is necessary. Also, the cord must be: (1) marked with an electrical rating of 125V,
and at least 13 A., 1625 W., and (2) the cord must be arranged so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over accidentally.
Polarized plug
NOTE:
This grill/griddle has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended
to fit in a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.
If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
defeat this safety feature.
Electric power
If electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your grill/griddle may not
operate properly. The grill/griddle should be operated on a separate electrical
circuit from other operating appliances.

2. Never leave the grill/griddle unattended while connected to the electrical
outlet.

A. After use.
B. If it appears to be faulty.

THIS APPLIANCE CAN GET HOT DURING USE. PLEASE USE CAUTION!
How to use the reversible grill/griddle
1. Adjust the temperature probe to the desired temperature. NOTE: The power
indicator light is also the temperature indicator for the grill/griddle.
2. Allow the unit to preheat 7 –10 minutes. Place food directly on the
grill/griddle. Cook food to desired doneness.
3. When cooking is finished, turn the temperature control knob to “O” OFF and
remove the plug from the wall outlet.
4. IMPORTANT: Wait until the grill/griddle has cooled down completely before
removing the temperature probe, or attempting to clean the unit.
5. Hot oil and liquid may splash as grease and juices hit the drip tray. BE
CAREFUL WHILE GRILLING!
6. DO NOT TOUCH any hot surfaces while cooking. The grill or griddle may
become extremely hot while cooking and will remain hot while unit is cooling
down.
7. DO NOT overload the grill/griddle surface.
8. DO NOT remove the temperature probe until the grill/griddle is turned OFF,
unplugged and completely cooled.
9. DO NOT move the grill/griddle while in use.
10. DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Always use handles.
11. ALWAYS make sure that the unit is set to the “O” OFF position when not in
use and when unplugging from power outlet.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE BASE UNIT AFTER COOKING AS IT
REMAINS HOT!

Cooking tips
If using bamboo or wooden skewers, soak skewers in water at least 30
minutes before use to prevent burning.
Use only nylon, plastic, or wooden utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick
surface. Never cut food on the non-stick surface.
Cut food into small and equal pieces to ensure more even cooking.
Frozen food should always be thawed before it is grilled.
If you grill vegetables, fish or lean meat, spray the grilling surface with a
cooking spray. If you are grilling meat with any amount of fat, or if the food
has been marinated, there is no need to treat the grill prior to cooking.
If using a marinade with oil, place grill near an exhaust hood. Oil or fat may
produce smoke.

Cleaning and maintenance
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the grill/griddle is unplugged and completely cooled before
cleaning or attempting to store the item.
It is important to clean your grill/griddle thoroughly after each use to prevent
sticky build ups that are difficult to clean later. Proper cleaning of the grill/griddle
can lead to clean, better tasting food.
1. When performing any cleaning or maintenance to this unit, turn the
temperature probe to “O” OFF and be sure to unplug from the power outlet
first and allow item to cool completely before removing the temperature
probe.
2. Remove the temperature probe from the unit. Gently remove the completely
cooled grill/griddle and clean the surface and outer surface using a soft cloth
or sponge and warm soapy water. NEVER IMMERSE THE GRILL/GRIDDLE OR
TEMPERATURE PROBE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
3. Allow the base to cool completely before cleaning. Once cooled, clean the
base with a soft cloth or sponge and warm soapy water. The base may be
immersed in water. Do not place the base in the dishwasher.
4. Remove stubborn stains or cooked on food with a plastic scouring pad and
mild dish washing liquid.

Antes del primer uso
Antes de usarla por primera vez, por favor limpie la parrilla/plancha con un paño
suave humedecido y asegúrese de que no haya ningún metal u objetos extraños
en la sonda de temperatura.
AVISO: La parrilla/plancha podría emitir un ligero olor durante el primer uso. Esto

¡MANTÉNGALA ALEJADA DEL AGUA!
1. Para protegerse contra descargas eléctricas, no sumerja la parrilla/plancha, la
sonda, el cable de alimentación o el enchufe en agua ni en ningún otro
líquido.
2. Si el cable de alimentación eléctrica está dañado, el fabricante o un
electricista calificado deberán reemplazarlo para evitar riesgos.
3. No la utilice en exteriores o mientras esté de pie sobre un área mojada.
4. No deje desatendida la parrilla/plancha en ningún momento mientras está
encendida.
5. Es necesaria una atenta supervisión cuando el aparato es usado por niños o
cerca de estos. Esta parrilla/plancha no está diseñada para que la usen los
niños.

12. Para desconectar, gire la perilla de la sonda de temperatura a “O” OFF
[APAGADO] y después desenchufe del tomacorriente. No deje nunca la
parrilla/plancha enchufada al tomacorriente cuando no la esté usando ni
mientras la limpia.
13. No limpie la parrilla/plancha con estropajos metálicos abrasivos. Se podrían
desprender pedazos del estropajo y entrar en contacto con piezas eléctricas,
lo que originaría un riesgo de descarga eléctrica.
14. Debe tenerse precaución al manejar la parrilla/plancha durante e
inmediatamente después de cocinar.
15. No toque las superficies calientes. Siempre use las asas o agarraderas.
16. No mueva la parrilla/plancha cuando esté en uso.
17. Cuando esté en uso, mantenga la parrilla/plancha a una distancia mínima de

entender que el sentido común y la precaución son factores que no se pueden
incluir en el producto, sino que los debe aportar el operador mismo.
PRECAUCIÓN: Se proporciona un cable de alimentación eléctrica corto para
reducir el riesgo de lesiones personales resultantes de enredarse o tropezar con
un cable más largo. Hay disponibles cables de extensión en las ferreterías locales y
pueden utilizarse si se tiene cuidado en su uso. Si se requiere usar un cable de
