ASSEMBLY
1. Unpack the Rice Cooker from the box. NOTE: The lid is packed upside down.
2. Wipe clean all the parts with a soft damp cloth or sponge and warm water.
Rinse and dry thoroughly. DO NOT IMMERSE THE RICE COOKER BASE IN
WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
3. Using a damp cloth or sponge, wipe the motor base.
DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE MATERIAL TO CLEAN THE SURFACE
DO NOT IMMERSE THE BLENDER BASE INTO WATER AT ANY TIME

GENERAL INFORMATION
When using the 16 Cup Rice Cooker, basic safety precautions should be observed.
PLEASE READ AND SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE 16 CUP
RICE COOKER.
1. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. The
Rice Cooker is not intended for use by children.
2. For indoor household use only.
3. Unplug the Rice Cooker from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
4. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or Rice Cooker
base in water or any other liquid.
5. Do not operate the Rice Cooker with a damaged cord or plug, or if the Rice
Cooker malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return the Rice
Cooker to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or
refund.
6. Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They
could constitute a danger to the user and risk damage to the Rice Cooker.
7. Never move the Rice Cooker by pulling the cord. DO NOT let the electrical cord
hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
8. Place the Rice Cooker on a flat, level, stable, heat resistant surface when
using.
9. Do not place the Rice Cooker on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a
heated oven.
10. Do not use the Rice Cooker with a damaged outlet.
11. Make sure hands are dry when plugging in and unplugging the Rice Cooker.
12. Do not use this Rice Cooker for other than intended use.
13. This Rice Cooker is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the use of the Rice Cooker by a person responsible for their safety.
14. It is not necessary to preheat the appliance.
15. DO NOT allow any liquid to drip into the base of the Rice Cooker.
16. The Rice Cooker and its accessories may become hot. It is recommended to
use hot pads or oven mitts when removing the lid, steamer insert or rice pot.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. The
warnings, cautions, and instruction discussed in this instruction manual cannot
cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood
by the operator that common sense and caution are a factor which cannot be built
into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal
injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords are available from local hardware stores and may be used if care is
exercised in their use. If an extension cord is required, special care and caution is
necessary. Also the cord must be: (1) marked with an electrical rating of 125V, and
at least 13 A., 1625 W., and (2) the cord must be arranged so that it will not drape
over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped
over accidentally.
POLARIZED PLUG
NOTE: This Rice Cooker has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit
in a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.
If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
ELECTRIC POWER
If electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliances may not
operate properly. The appliances should be operated on a separate electrical circuit
from other operating appliances.
SAFETY WARNING
Although your Rice Cooker is easy to operate, for your safety, the warnings below
must be followed:
1. Do not place the Rice Cooker near a heat source.
2. Never leave the Rice Cooker unattended while connected to the electrical
outlet.
3. Use the Rice Cooker on a stable work surface away from water.
4. Do not unplug from the wall socket by pulling on the supply cord.
5. The Rice Cooker must be unplugged:
A. After each use.
B. If it appears to be faulty.
C. Before cleaning or maintenance.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
Before First Use
Wash all pieces, except base unit, in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry
thoroughly before first use.
Do NOT immerse base in water or any other liquid.
How to Cook Rice
1. Place the measured rice to the pot and distribute it evenly.
2. Fill the pot to the appropriate measuring line with water using the
measurements marked inside the pot.
3. Place the pot into the base of the Rice Cooker and cover with lid.
4. Plug the Rice Cooker into an outlet. The ‘Warm’ indicator light will
automatically turn on. This starts the heating function.
5. To start cooking the rice, press the white button down and the ‘Cook’ indicator
light will turn on. NOTE: When the ‘Warm’ indicator light is on, the cooker is
automatically kept within a range of 140°F-176°F (60°C-80°C).
6. When the rice is finished cooking, the white button will automatically release
and the ‘Cook’ indicator light will turn off. The ‘Warm’ indicator light will stay
on to keep the rice warm before serving. NOTE: Allow the rice to rest on
‘Warm’ at least 15 minutes before serving.
7. When removing lid from cooker, lift the lid away from your body to avoid injury
due to hot steam.
8. Unplug the Rice Cooker when not in use.

Broth can be substituted for water. Sauces may be added to the rice after it is
cooked.
HOW TO STEAM
1. Pour water into pot and place pot into the base of the Rice Cooker.
2. Place steamer insert with desired vegetables into pot and cover with lid.
3. Plug the Rice Cooker into an outlet. The ‘Warm’ indicator light will
automatically turn on. This starts the heating function.
4. To start steaming the vegetables, press the white button down and the ‘Cook’
indicator light will turn on.
5. NOTE: Although this rice cooker can steam vegetables, it does not have a
separate steam setting. When steaming, it is important to check vegetables
during steaming times as the white cook button may not release by the time
the vegetables are done.
6. When the vegetable have reached the desired tenderness, you must remove
the steamer insert from the rice cooker or it will continue to cook.
7. When removing lid from cooker, lift the lid away from your body to avoid injury
due to hot steam.
8. Unplug the Rice Cooker when not in use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the Rice Cooker is unplugged and completely cooled before
cleaning or attempting to store the item. NEVER IMMERSE base in water or any
other liquid.
It is important to clean your Rice Cooker thoroughly after each use to prevent
sticky build ups that are difficult to clean later. Proper cleaning of the Rice Cooker
can lead to a cleaner, better tasting food.
1. Remove the lid, steamer and pot.
2. Wash the lid, steamer, pot, measuring cup and spoon in warm soapy water.
Rinse, and dry thoroughly before storing.
3. Wipe the base with a damp cloth, sponge, or paper towel. Do NOT immerse
the base or run water over the base unit. Dry the surfaces with a soft cloth or
paper towel before storing.
4. Do not use abrasive cleaners on any part of the Rice Cooker.
