Important:
The following instructions are provided to assure safe
installation and operation of LED Mini Step Light.
Please read carefully before connecting or installing
this product.
1.The LED Mini Step Lights are a safe low voltage
lighting system that is suitable for indoor and outdoor
locations.
2. Do not mount or support the LED Mini Step Light in
a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage
wire insulation.
3. Always make sure power is disconnected from the
LED Mini Step Lights before cutting, mounting,
attaching terminal block, attaching end cap or
modifying in any way.
Do not exceed the wattage capacity of the LED driver
used (requires a 350mA constant current driver).
WARNING:These products may represent a possible
shock or fire hazard if improperly installed or attached
in any way. Products should be installed in accordance
with the owners manual, current electrical codes
and/or the current National Electric Code (NEC).
Specifications:
• 1 – 8 Step Lights can be wired per 10-watt LED Driver
• Constant Current LED Driver (350mA DC) is required
• One high brightness LED per light
(consumes 1.25 watts each)
• Maximum wattage per run is 10 watts (350mA DC)
• Series wiring configuration only
• Recessed mount hole size required: 1-1/2”
• Fixture height: 1-7/8” (profile); 1-5/8” overall
Installing LED Mini Step Lights
NOTE: Do NOT cut off the molex connector
attached to the LED Mini Step Light’s lead wire.
This molex connector is required for the series
wiring configuration. The LED Mini Step Light does
not use conventional parallel wiring.
1. Always make sure the LED Mini Step Light is
disconnected from the power source before wiring.
2. Determine the number of LED Mini Step Lights your
application will require. Remember, in any case, do not
exceed 10 watts for a single series wired configura-
tion.
3. Utilizing a good pair of shears, cut the Molex
connector off the 023-0002 Power Connector (See
Figures 1&2 on reverse).
4. Strip the insulation back 3/16” on lead wires
(See Figure 3).
5. Place the stripped leads of the 023-0002 into one
side of the TL-CONBLK2 connector (See Figure 4) and
tighten screws (See Figure 5).
6. Place stripped leads of plug-in driver (019-0004
shown in Figure 6) into the other side of TL-CONBLK2
connector (see Figure 7) and tighten screws. When
using a hardwire driver (019-0005) add some lead wire
to secondary side of driver to connect to TL-CONBLK2
connector (see Figure 8).
7. For LED Mini Step Lights, check that the male Molex
connector is in operable condition. If in operable
condition, insert male Molex connector into an open
female port of the 023-0003 (See Figures 9&10).
8. When only powering one Mini Step Light, it is
necessary to insert an end cap (023-0002 shown in
Figure 11) into the other open port to complete the
wiring series (See Figure 12).
9. When powering multiple Mini Step Lights, it is
necessary to use multiple power connectors, (023-
0003) to link Downlights together in a series.The LED
Mini Step Lights will not light if the series is not
completed with an end cap or Mini Step Light in the
last female port of the Power Connector (023-0003)
(See Figures 13 and 14).
Attaching Junction Box
1. In order to provide proper strain relief, each
TL-CONBLK2 must be placed in a compatible junction
box (FSL-BOX ).
2. Disconnect power from transformer.
3. Place TL-CONBLK2 assembly into top of FSL-BOX.
4. Make sure TL-CONBLK2 assembly fits into junction
box and enclose with FSL-BOX bottom. Tighten four
junction box screws through bottom into top of
FSL-BOX.
RECESS MOUNTING LED Mini Step Light
Note:The LED Mini Step Light is designed for recessed
installations only.
1. Always make sure power is disconnected before
modifying, mounting or installing a series of LED Mini
Step Lights.
2. Drill a 1-1/2”hole in mounting surface.
3. Insert Mini Step Light into cabinet by pushing
through hole in surface while holding back spring
clips.
4. Make sure that the wire is not in contact with sharp
objects.
5. Maximum wattage per series is 10 watts at 350ma
DC. Add the number of Mini Step Lights and respec-
tive wattage to ensure you do not exceed the maxi-
mum wattage.
