LEVELING
Because the flooring in every home is unique, please
ensure that your cabinet’s doors are level once it’s in
place. Each door and drawer should open easily without
any friction.

Start by adjusting the feet on the bottom of the cabinet in small
increments to level the cabinet (if necessary).
Using a 1/2” wrench (not provided) adjust each foot until the
doors align.

Each door can be precisely adjusted via the screws located on the cabinet’s interior door hinges. First,
assess the door that needs to be adjusted. Next, use a Phillips head screwdriver, turning the screws
according to the direction in which it needs to move. Adjust in small half turns as needed.

When you first open your Habitat’s door(s), you’ll notice
that the rails have been secured for shipment. Carefully
cut the zip ties and remove the eye hooks from the
tracks by backing them out counterclockwise.
It is essential to set your rails up correctly to allow your
guitar collection to rest safely.
• Place the rails onto the tracks with the cork facing in.
• The rail with the notch should be placed toward the
front of the Habitat for easy access to the hatch cover.

*NOTE - Correct setup of the rails will allow you to easily refill your tank’s reservoir
without needing to remove any guitars from the cabinet.

TRACKS
You can easily adjust the distance between
the rails to accommodate the various lower
bout widths of your guitar collection.
• Move the rails forward and/or backwards
(if needed) along the tracks.
• Test your largest and smallest guitars on
the rails to find the best placement to hold
your collection properly.

The lower bout of the guitar should rest
securely on the cork-lined rails.
• Place the guitar’s lower bout on the rails
first (1).
• Then lean the neck forward until it makes
contact with the neck rest (2).
Lastly, adjust the lower bout of each gui-
tar to an angle to show off the tops, or
leave them parallel. It’s up to you!

Once your Guitar Habitat is in place and leveled, go
ahead and plug in your cabinet.
*You will find the power cord and keys inside the cloth
hardware bag located within your Habitat.
• Unlock the door using the matching set of keys.
• Once the right-hand door is unlocked, unlatch the slide
bolt located at the top of the left-hand door on the
interior. You can now open both doors fully.
• Turn on your LED lights by locating the dimmer switch
on the ceiling of your cabinet in the upper right-hand
corner.
• Turn the dial to adjust the brightness to your liking.

FUNCTIONING PROPERLY
RH: 45%
The humidifier in your Habitat is pre-programmed
to 45% RH. Refer to the *Digital Controller Manual
for detailed instructions, other settings, and trouble-
shooting.
If your controller is reading 40% or higher, there is no
need to add water to your tank.
• This situation is most common during summer when
the relative humidity (RH) is naturally higher. Continue
to monitor the RH levels in your cabinet throughout
the year.
• When the cabinet’s RH% begins to drop (around
40%) it’s time to add water to the reservoir tank.
• However, if the RH% exceeds 50% we suggest re-
moving the water from the reservoir. *Refer to p.11
for tank maintenance.

Our Guitar Habitats are designed to be
easily maintained and to provide easy
access to the himidifier tank without
having to remove the instruments.
• To FILL your tank, remove the front
section of the hatch cover by pulling it
up and out from under the rail.
• Then, place the hatch cover off to
the side and fill the tank’s reservoir.
ONLY use distilled water to operate the
humidification system in your Habitat.
We also suggest adding a few drops
of Grapefruit Seed extract per gallon
of water.

bacteriostatic treatment as
a natural way to keep your
water clean.

• Fill tank to the marked
“Max Fill” line. Dont overfill.
FILLING YOUR TANK
• Only use distilled water inside the tank to
prevent bacterial growth.
• Be cautious not to over-fill the reservoir of
the tank. If you accidentally spill water outside
of your tank and into the cabinet, immediately
soak up any water with a towel and allow it
to dry completely. Water sitting in the cabinet
can cause severe damage to the solid wood
structure and must be maintained.
• TIP: Use a designated watering can with
a long spout for an easy, accurate pour to
prevent accidental spills into the cabinet.

Knowing how to correctly fill the tank’s
reservoir is essential to its operation!

EMPTYING YOUR TANK
During the spring and summer months, unless you are in a desert climate, the RH levels of the
home are generally higher, which means you won’t need to continuously run your humidifier at
this time because the perfect amount of humidity will already exist within the cabinet.

• For this step, you will need to remove all of your guitars from the
cabinet to access and remove the tank.
• Remove the rails from the cabinet and place them off to the side.
• Remove both hatch cover sections and place them over to the side.
• Now, unscrew the power supply from the humidifier tank.
• Carefully lift the tank from the cabinet to empty the water.
YOU MUST REMOVE THE TANK COMPLETELY TO EMPTY THE RESERVOIR

Once your tank is removed from the cabinet:
• Unscrew the four caps from the cover, and
remove the cover on the reservoir.
• Pull out the used wick
*Note: The wick sits inside a small lip within
the tank’s reservoir. When you replace the
wick, be sure to sit the new filter inside this
lip to keep it in place.

CHECK YOUR WICK
When emptying the tank for the summer, we suggest removing the wick to be
cleaned, or replaced if needed. If the wick is less thn a year old, rinse it thoroughly
with tap water and be sure to let it dry completely before placing it back inside
the tank. Placing a damp wick back inside the tank can result in unwanted humidity
from static evaporation and also cause bacterial growth.
Once you notice discoloration on the humidifier wick (often grey or brown) it’s
time to change it out. Replacement wicks can be purchased directly from us on
the “accessories” page of the website.
• Once the tank is empty and the wick has been thoroughly dried (or replaced) put
it back inside the reservoir tank. Be sure to place the cover back on and re-tighten
the caps to secure it.
• When your tank is not in use, you can leave it unplugged inside the cabinet.
• When the digital controller reads below 40%, remember to plug in your dormant
tank and fill the reservoir to the “Max Fill” line with distilled water and a few drops
of the grapefruit seed oil.

CARE
Your Guitar Habitat is hand-crafted from solid Penn-
sylvania hardwoods. Much like a guitar, it is essential
that you properly maintain the natural beauty of this
heirloom piece of furniture to preserve its quality for
years to come.
Habitat maintenance is easy!
• Use a lint-free fiber cloth on the cabinet to keep the
dust off.
•Use a paper towel or cloth with a non-streak glass
cleaner on the tempered glass for the clearest view of
your collection.
• In the case of spills, we recommend using a mild soap
mixture to wipe down the cabinet. Mix up a ratio of 1
teaspoon of soap to one gallon of warm water, use a
soft dry cloth wipe it down. Be sure to wipe dry and
don’t leave any water pooled on the cabinet.
*Avoid any harsh chemicals containing ammonia or
bleach.

ADD-ONS
Mandolin inserts are available for purchase on our website for clients who wish
to display more than just their guitar collection inside their Habitat. These inserts
are great for holding smaller headstock string instruments such as mandolins,
ukuleles, fiddles, and mandolas. Installation is easy! Just insert them into the
existing neck rest slot of your choice, allowing your small instrument to suspend
safely within your cabinet. The Mandolin inserts can be ordered in our standard
wood species to match your cabinet. For custom colors, please contact us.

their new Guitar Habitat. We are always here to answer any
questions, and we want to provide the best customer support
to make you feel confident when operating your Guitar Habitat.
• Your Guitar Habitat includes a limited lifetime warranty. If
you experience any issues with the function of the cabinet not
caused by neglect or misuse, we will cover the cost of neces-
sary repairs after an evaluation.
• All electronic components within your Guitar Habitat are
covered under a two year warranty beginning on the date of
delivery.
We suggest printing a copy of this handbook and storing it
in your Habitat to refer back to. If an issue persists, do not
