2.3 Safety checks
In the case of industrial or commercial use, it is recommended to carry out safety inspections of
the AmpliCube every 12-24 months. The older the unit, the more regular safety inspections are
recommended.
The technical inspections entail:
1. Checking the accompanying papers to make sure the user manual exists
2. Checking the equipment for completeness
3. Visual inspection
• for mechanical damage
• of all cables and connectors for damage
4. Functional safety
• Check of the output signals at a load resistance of 1 k (voltage)
• Check of the frequencies
• Check of the modulation depth
These safety checks may only be carried out by adequately trained staff and are to be documen-
ted.
2.4 Safety notes for the electrodes
Electrode suits (AmpliSkin and AmpliShort) and strip electrodes (AmpliStrap) may only be used in
the form delivered by the manufacturer. These must also be cared for and handled in accordance
with the care instructions.
For your own safety and that of the user of the AmpliTroden suits, the AmpliTroden/
electrodes must be checked for conductivity before each use and especially after
they have been washed. Insufficient conductivity hinders training success and can
be harmful to health. The measuring instructions provided for this (see section 8 of
this user manual) are to be followed. If you have any questions about how to check
the AmpliTroden/electrodes for their conductivity, please contact a member of staff
at amplitrain systems GmbH before use.
Please follow the care and cleaning instructions, otherwise the quality and functio-
nality of the product cannot be guaranteed. Training success can suffer from this.
Damage to the device or harm to health cannot be ruled out in such cases.
Apply plenty of the water to the silver-looking surfaces of the electrodes to ensure
optimum conductivity along the entire area. Otherwise, the product’s functionality
cannot be guaranteed. Training success can suffer from this. Damage to the device
or harm to health cannot be ruled out in such cases.
Please also ensure that - if the electrode is not worn directly on the skin - nothing disturbs the
current transmission from the electrode to the body. No insulating material may be worn between
the skin and the electrode, underclothing may not form any creases underneath the electrodes
and no clothing that has not been recommended by the manufacturer may be worn underneath
the electrodes.

8
2.5 Modifications and repairs
Do not make any independent modifications or repairs to the AmpliCube. The manufacturer only
bears responsibility for the safety and performance of the AmpliCube when new installations, mo-
difications and repairs are carried out by someone they have authorised and when the AmpliCube
is used in accordance with the user manual.
Any modification to the AmpliTroden and any use of the AmpliTroden that does not comply with
the user manual releases the manufacturer from any responsibility for safety and performance.

3 Preliminary information
IMPORTANT: Please read the instructions for using the AmpliCube that are provided in this user
manual. Never use the device for any purpose other than that which is specified and ensure pro-
per handling. Never allow minors to train with or handle the AmpliCube.
After malfunction of the AmpliCube or after a longer period of not being in use, have it checked
by an authorised specialised company before restarting it.
If you use the AmpliCube for commercial purposes, please make sure that everyone who trains
with the AmpliCube is fit and healthy. Trainers should be instructed in the handling and use of the
AmpliCube by means of this user manual and the relevant safety instructions. Ideally, everyone
who handles the AmpliCube should have undergone training in its handling.
If the AmpliCube is opened by an unauthorised person, the warranty and guarantee become void
and the device is to be immediately sent to the manufacturer for inspection.
To train with the AmpliCube, only use the electrode suits (AmpliSkin and AmpliShort) and the strip
electrodes (AmpliStrap) that are offered by the company amplitrain and were developed exclu-
sively for Amplitraining. If other electrodes are used, the guarantee becomes void and warranty
cannot be claimed. We would like to highlight that it can be dangerous to use any accessories
other than those that have been especially developed and offered for Amplitraining. We would
also like to highlight that the electrodes are to be checked for proper functioning before each use
(see section 8).
Please ensure that all components which are part of the AmpliCube or which are offered as
AmpliCube accessories are adapted to the electricty amount and amperage of the AmpliCube.
Therefore, you should never replace any components with any others than the original ones.
Any use of the AmpliCube other than that which is described in this user manual
is not permitted and can be dangerous.

4 The AmpliCube
4.1 Commissioning the unit
The AmpliCube can be used in parallel with the provided batters and/or power adapter. Connect
the power adapter to the mains socket of the AmpliCube. The battery can be charged directly
on the AmpliCube or over an external charger, which is available as an accessory. To charge the
AmpliCube, place the battery on the charging unit at the bottom of the AmpliCube and connect
the AmpliCube using the provided power adapter to the mains socket.
The battery can remain in the charging unit once it is fully charged. For mobile use, the power
adapter can be removed from the AmpliCube. The AmpliCube is switched on underneath the
device. For final commissioning, the AmpliCube must be coupled to the AmpliApp (the device to
which the AmpliApp is installed). The AmpliApp is installed on the supplied AmpliTab or AmpliSta-
tion.
If the AmpliCube was switched on at the bottom, then the coupling between the AmpliCube and
the AmpliStation (or AmpliTab) can be enabled by pressing the on/off switch at the bottom-right
corner of the control panel. Once the coupling is successful, the text “amplitrain” lights up in the
centre of the control panel.
Then connect the AmpliCube to the distribution cable and the distribution cable to the electrode
suit via the distributor.
When you would like to start a training session, you need electrodes that are to be attached to
the body.
4.2 Scope of supply
Besides the AmpliCube, the AmpliCu-
be delivery includes a power adapter,
Tablet (black or white), 2 batteries, the
distribution cable, the distributor and a
Y cable.
4.2.1 AmpliCube
The AmpliCube lies at the heart of the
training technology for Amplitraining. It
generates electricity for your Amplitrai-
ning, a modulated middle frequency
(MMF).

12
4.2.2 Control panel
The control panel is at the top of the AmpliCube. When switched off, the control panel is black -
you can only see the Amplitrain logo in the centre and in the bottom-right corner, there is an on/
off field to couple the AmpliCube via Bluetooth with the AmpliApp (or with the AmpliTab or Amp-
liStation). When the AmpliCube and AmpliApp are coupled, then the “AmpliTrain” logo appears in
the centre of the control panel.
4.2.3 Left side of device
At the left side of the device, there are
two sockets. One is the connection
socket for the distribution cable; the
other is the connection socket for the
Y cable. The Y cable connects the 8th
channel of the AmpliCube to an additi-
onal electrode.
4.2.4 Bottom of AmpliCube
At the bottom of the AmpliCube, there
are:
1. USB port
2. Socket for the power adapter
3. The main switch for turning the
device on and off
4.3 Distributor and distri-
bution cable
The AmpliCube also has a distribution
cable and distributor. The distribution
cable connects the AmpliCube to the
distributor. This cable is 2.5 metres
long but can be ordered on request
in any length as an accessory. Please
note that these cables are wear parts.
The longer the cable, the more it will be
stressed and the faster it can become
defective. Check the cable at regular
intervals for correct functionality and
replace it when needed.

13
4.3.1 The distributor
The distributor has a socket at the
bottom for the distribution cable and
a bar with gold-coloured spring cont-
act pins at the front. The front side with
the spring contacts is attached to the
distributor holder, which is on the right
of every electrode suit at hip level. The
connection is maintained magnetically.
4.3.2 Battery
To use the AmpliCube, the battery
needs to be charged and placed in the
charger at the bottom of the AmpliCu-
be. During normal training, the battery
of the AmpliCube lasts 120 to 200 mi-
nutes.
The battery’s charging status is dis-
played in the AmpliApp.
If there is not enough battery power to
complete a training session of 20 mi-
nute, this is displayed in the AmpliApp
before the training starts.

14
5 The AmpliTroden
Please read the safety instructions and user manual of the respective AmpliTroden.
The following also applies:
To AmpliCube needs electrodes to bring electricity to the body of the person who is training. The-
se are referred to below as AmpliTroden. The electrodes of the AmpliCube are made from a speci-
al textil that contains silver. They can be easily recognised by their brown-golden colour. They can
be found in the AmpliSkin and AmpliShort electrode suits and are also available as the so-called
AmpliStrap strip electrodes. The AmpliStraps are used as electrodes for the arms and legs.
The electrodes are linked in the suits. The cables which connect the electrodes to the distributor
are located in the suit and connected to the electrode over a pushbutton.
The electrodes may only be removed from the suit by trained staff. No unauthorised persons may
remove electrodes from a suit or change their position. Please always ensure that anyone who
trains using the AmpliCube is also instructed in handling of the suit and electrodes.
The electrodes are then only removed from the suit if they are defective and need to be replaced
by new electrodes.
5.1 Important notes
The AmpliTroden are consumables. This means that they become worn over the
course of time and lose their functionality. They can also become prematurely
worn as a result of inadequate care, improper use or excessive friction, etc. Safe
functioning of the AmpliTroden is prerequisite for harm-free use. Therefore, we
recommend that users regularly check the AmpliCube for correct functioning
for their own safety. This functional check can be carried out easily and at any
time with a digital multimeter. We recommend these safety measurements before
each use.
If you are unsure of how to properly use a digital multimeter, please have this
demonstrated/explained by a specialist or staff member from amplitrain systems
GmbH.
5.1.1 Measure current resistance with a multimeter
At time of delivery, the resistances of the AmpliTroden are in the single-digit Ohm range (0.5 to
9 Ohm). The resistances on the AmpliTroden should never exceed 80 Ohms. From 60 Ohms,
the functionality is limited. Therefore, you should regularly check the resistances of the individual
AmpliTroden as follows.
Fig. 1) The measurement should al-
ways be made at a distance of 10 cm
between the contact pins. This is the
only way to obtain comparable mea-
surements. Take at least two mea-
surements at different points of the
AmpliTroden. The larger the electrode,
the more measurements are meaning-
ful. The function must be checked on
the entire electrode surface.

15
Fig. 2) If the Ohm value has increased,
the AmpliTrode has worn. From 80
Ohm, the AmpliTrode should longer be
used.
Fig. 3) You can check the electricity
properly flows into the electrode by
measuring the connection. To do so,
place a contact pin at the output point
of the plug connection and check the
area of the AmpliTrode using the other
contact pin.
IMPORTANT: If the electricity arrives
without interruption at the connection
point (each point at which the elec-
tricity is transmitted from the power
cable to the electrode), but cannot be
forwarded from a defective or poorly
conductive electrode surface, there
are risks for the user. For this reason,
connection is to be checked very tho-
roughly.
Fig. 3) If the cable is defective, this
can be checked with a multimeter and
identified as the cause. For this, pla-
ce the contact pin at the output point
of the distributor holder and the other
contact pin at the connection of the
electrode that is to be checked. If you
do not receive any values, the cable is
damaged

5.1.2 Care instructions
Improper care, treatment with unsuitable detergents and disinfectants, overuse and unsuitable
storage of the AmpliTroden can cause the AmpliTroden to lose its function prematurely. If needed,
AmpliTroden should be washed after use and hung up in a well-ventilated place until they are
completely dry. Therefore, in commercial premises, each AmpliCube should have at least two
AmpliTroden and AmpliTroden suits of each size (preferably more) available at the same time.
Rinse the AmpliTroden after use - either with clear water or in the machine at max. 30 degrees
with a suitable detergent for EMS products (which may not contain any bleach, chlorine or sof-
teners). We recommend the product “MERUSAL freshTEX”. Please use a wash bag. Do not spin
the AmpliTroden and do not dry in a tumble dryer. After washing, the AmpliTroden should always
be hung up with the electrode surfaces facing outwards. Ensure that the AmpliTroden are well
aired while drying.
Never treat the AmpliTroden with any cleaning sprays, bleach, odour eliminators, disinfectants
or other agents. During storage, ensure that the electrodes are protected against friction. Before
each new use, the AmpliTroden are to be checked for proper functioning.
IMPORTANT: Please follow the separate care instructions which are delivered with the AmplioTro-
den suits and AmpliStraps.
5.1.3 Durability
No binding statement can be made about the actual durability of the AmpliTroden, since these are
very dependent on the usage cycles, the handling and care. The electrodes are subject to natural
wear. The expected lifetime of an electrode depends on various factors. It is impossible to state
the lifetime of the electrodes in advance. For this reason, the electrodes are exchangeable and
can be reordered from amplitrain systems GmbH. No guarantee can be assumed for electrodes
once they have been used. Therefore, check the conductivity of the electrodes before you use
them and ensure that the electrodes are in a proper condition before using them for the first time.
5.2 The suits
Two versions of AmpliTroden suits are offered for training sessions with the AmpliCube. The
AmpliSkin version and the AmpliShort version. The only difference between both versions is that
the legs are longer on the AmpliSkin, to the knee, and the leg electrodes are integrated into the
suit. In this version, the leg electrodes are split and the electrode at the front is somewhat larger
and positioned lower, while that for the rear is a bit smaller and higher in comparison.
There are no leg electrodes with the AmpliShort and the arm electrodes are attached separately
as strip electrodes.
5.3 Arm AmpliTroden
The arm AmpliTroden should be attached to the middle of the upper arm and sit tightly. They
should not constrict, but also not slide. As an orientation for attaching the arm AmpliTroden, take
the thickest part of the bicep bulge and place the electrode so that its centre lies at this point.
The arm cables are used for connecting the arm electrodes to the suit. The connection is estab-
lished by pressing a button. The connection of the arm electrodes on the suit is in the breast area.
5.4 Leg AmpliTroden
The leg AmpliTroden should be positioned at around a hand’s width above the kneecap and are
connected to the suit using the electrode cable, as with the arm electrodes. The connection for
the leg electrodes is located outside on the leg of the suit.
5.5 The waist strap
If someone who is training does not tightly attach the electrodes of the lower back or waist due
to factors related to the body, this can be improved using a waist strap.
When attaching the waist strap, ensure that the adhesive strap of the waist strap does not touch
the suit’s material, since this can damage the adhesive strap

17
5.6 Attaching the cable
IMPORTANT: Every briefing on the device includes a detailed demonstration of how to attach the
AmplITroden as well as the cable. This is also thoroughly addressed and practised in the practical
training from the company amplitrain systems GmbH: If there are any doubts about how to attach
the suits, AmpliTroden, cables or any other area covered by the training, please contact amplitrain
systems GmbH before starting to use the device and take the time to have everything explained
in detail again.
5.7 Handling the AmpliTroden
The AmpliTroden can be used directly on the skin, but also on underclothing. Direct use on the
skin gives the best and most direct transmission of current from the electrodes to the body.
If underclothing is used, this means that the current has to pass through an additional (non-con-
ductive) layer. This means that the current transmission is somewhat poorer when using underclo-
thing. For this reason, sufficient wetting is necessary.
When using the AmpliTroden on underclothing, the electrode surfaces must be
wet enough for the water to completely pass through the underclothing and to
guarantee proper transmission of the current to the body. If current transmission
over the entire area is not guaranteed due to creases in underclothing, an elastic
band under the electrode surface or insufficient wetting of the electrode area, for
example, this can be hazardous.
5.7.1 Underclothing
Only the underclothing that is offered by amplitrain systems GmbH should be used. Generally
speaking, underclothing should be as thin and tight as possible and should not overlap anywhere.
The waistband of the trousers should also be low enough so that it is not at the same height as
the waist electrode. This would interfere with the current transmission in the area of the trousers
waistband or make it impossible.
All underpants and bras made of synthetic fibres or which contain a high pro-
portion of synthetic fibres should be removed for training. If someone insists on
leaving these on, then it must be ensured that these garments do not lie beneath
the electrode surfaces.
5.7.2 Wetting the AmpliTroden
The AmpliTroden are to be wetted before using them. Although the quality of the AmpliTroden
is so unique that they transmit current without being wetted, dry skin is an insulator and makes
it difficult for current to be transmitted to the body. Thick hair and generally thick skin also make
transmission more difficult.
Therefore, to ensure optimum and even transmission of the pulse to the body, it is recommended
to wet the AmpliTroden (the sliver textile) before each training session. This is made easier by
using the spray bottle, but can also be done with a cloth.
If the suit is work directly against the skin, then slight wetting of the entire electrode surface is
sufficient. If the suit and AmpliTroden are used on underclothing, then the suit should be turned
“left”, placed on a table and each electrode surface should then be sprayed with water until they
can absorb no more water. When using with underclothing, please ensure that the water that is
sprayed on the electrodes passes through the entire surface of the underclothing material (on the
entire surface of the electrode) before training is optimum and safe. Therefore, use plenty of water
on the electrodes if they are to be used on underclothing!

18
5.7.3 Putting on the AmpliTroden suits and the AmpliTroden
The Ampli-Troden suit should fit tightly. Those who would normally wear a size L suit (e.g. for other
types of sport such as cycling) should wear a size M suit for AmpliTraining. It is better to choose
a suit that is a bit too small than one which fits perfectly, since especially new suits become a bit
bigger anyway after their first use. Since it is very important for training quality that the electrodes
are pressed well against the body, the suits should fit tightly and also fit tightly after the first use.
Of course, the suit should not be too small since this reduces its lifetime considerably and can
lead to tears in the seams. Before first-time use, the suit should be turned left and the electrodes
(golden brown coloured areas) sprayed. Please always ensure that the electrodes are sprayed
with enough water. If the suit is worn directly against the skin, it does not need as much water
as it would if it were worn on top of underclothing. In case of doubt, it is always better to use too
much water than too little.
When the electrodes are sufficiently wet, turn the suit right again and put it on. Make sure that the
proper suit size has been chosen.
When putting on the suit, always remember that it is a technical textile and should thus be hand-
led carefully. Please do not overstretch it or pull and tug at the seams or pull the zip to put on the
suit, etc. When the zip is closed, the electrodes should lie closely. It is recommended to wear a
waist strap so that this presses the electrodes for the lower back more against the body and also
to give the waist electrodes more contact pressure. Please always remember that the current
from the electrodes can then only be transmitted to the body if they are sufficiently wet (also that
underclothing is sufficiently saturated with water) and when the electrodes have enough contact
pressure against the body.
IMPORTANT:
Before starting each training session, check for proper attachment of the electro-
des and sufficient wetting!
To attach the arm electrodes, these can be closed first and then pulled up to the upper arm over
the hand and arm. Attach the leg electrodes a hand’s width above the knee and position the
fastener as close as possible to the inside of the thigh. Now attach the cables which connect the
electrodes to the suit. Since the pushbuttons at both ends of the cable are identical, it does not
matter which cable is used for what or which of the two connections are fixed to the electrode. To
prevent the cable from breaking, always unbutton the cable carefully from the connections - do
not tear it jerkily!
6 Information about training
Please only use the AmpliCube in the way that is specified in this user manual and only for the
purposes that are mentioned in the programmes. It is always preferable to use the AmpliCube
for a full-body workout and to use all 7 possible outputs. In general, local training should not be
done in the general sport area, since a muscular imbalance could be trained. AmpliTraining is a
full-body workout, which should also be used for such.
6.1 Initial training
For the first training session, you need to put on the AmpliSkin or AmpliShort after you have wet-
ted the electrodes in the suit. You can wear the suit on bare skin or over underclothing. Please
always only use the underclothing that is offered by amplitrain systems GmbH.
In addition, you must attach the arm electrodes (AmpliStrap). Do this by placing them in the
middle of the bicep. The arm electrode must be well attached but should not be too tight. If you
are using an AmpliShort suit, then you also need to attach leg electrodes. Please attach these a
hand’s width above the knee. The leg electrodes must also be well attached and sit well.

19
Now, the arm electrodes and possibly the leg electrodes (when using AmpliShort) are still to be
connected to the suit. There is a strip electrode cable for this. The connection point for the arm
electrodes is at the front of the suit at the height of the breast; the connection for the leg electro-
des is on the outside of the leg of the AmpliShort.
To start the training, first turn on the AmpliCube at the bottom of the device. Start the AmpliApp.
Now touch the on/off field at the bottom-right corner of hte AmpliCube control panel. AmpliCube
and AmpliApp are now coupled. Once the coupling is successful, the text “amplitrain” lights up
in the centre of the AmpliCube. Finally, you still need to connect the distributor to the distribution
cable, plug the distribution cable into the socket on the AmpliCube and attach the distributor itself
to the distributor holder at the right of the suit. The connection between the distributor and the
holder is maintained magnetically. Once the connection has been correctly set up, you are ready
for the first Amplitraining with the AmpliCube.
Now, go to the AmpliApp and select one of the three options to start an Ampltraining (as descri-
bed in the user manual) and your training can start.
6.1.1 Basic understanding of the intensity
AmpliTraining is a full-body workout and the current of the AmpliCube is distinguished by its depth
and volume effect. This effect depends on the configured intensity, among other things. The hig-
her the intensity, the higher the field in which the current acts. The more balanced the settings on
the seven outputs, the more even is the training effect.
Furthermore, the intensity must also be in line with the training goal.
6.1.1.1 Index
With the index, the AmpliCube provides an “analysis” of the intensity. The index should help to
evaluate the training intensity and to make it comparable. An index of 100 is an accepted avera-
ge for intensive training. Those who want build strength or muscle should, therefore, not be too
much below this value of 100. Alternatively, for those who want to train endurance, do general
fitness or burn fat, the training intensity should be way below this value. Unfortunately, it cannot
yet be said which training needs which index, as it is also not possible to say in conventional trai-
ning. Biceps curls with 10 kg have a hypertrophic effect. This might be true for some people and
not for others. This is also the case with the index. It should and can be used for orientation, but
should also always be seen according to the individual.
Another point is that the index is also very dependent on the directness with which the current
from the electrode can be passed to the body and is also dependent on the conductivity of the
electrode and that of the fabric. This means, for example, that the index rises immediately when
using underclothing, since part of the flowing current is “eaten up”, so to speak, by the underclo-
thing. A poorly conducting electrode - or an insufficiently wet electrode - also eats part of the
current which can also lead to a much higher index.
All this shows that, despite the index display, it should be clear that the index needs to be evalua-
ted on a case-by-case basis.
6.1.1.2 Which intensity for which training or training programme
There is no rule of thumb for this since, just like the movable weight and heart frequency for en-
durance training are different for each person, it is also the case when training with electricity that
the effect of different amounts of electricity differ. Thus, everything said about this here can only
serve as a guideline.
The direct muscle effect should also be used as an intensity criterion in addition to the index. This
means that a correspondingly high intensity at an output also leads to a correspondingly high
contraction of the respective muscle group, and that the training intensity can be evaluated using
the muscle contraction that is caused by the electricity.

7 Troubleshooting
In general, all errors that are reported by people who are training should always be checked by the
owner of the device or the person who is responsible for it. If an error occurs, it is very important
to contain and localise it as a first step.
7.1 Possible errors
IMPORTANT!
Troubleshooting must never be carried out when a customer is connected to the
device. When troubleshooting, only one person, who is familiar with the training,
the electricity sensations and handling of the device, and who has been trained
in troubleshooting by specialist staff (as part of practical training at amplitrain
systems GmbH), should be connected.
On an AmpliTrode, the current feels uncomfortable or uneven. This loose contact feeling on an
AmpliTrode does not necessarily mean that the AmpliTrode has a loose connection.
Possible causes:
1. The unit has a defect
2. The distribution cable has a weak point (e.g. cable breakage)
3. The distributor is damaged (e.g. plug is defective, cable in the distributor is defective ...)
4. The AmpliTroden cable has a cable breakage
5. The AmpliTroden is defective (because there is no more conductivity, for example)
6. The AmpliTroden can also be unevenly sprayed or wetted
7. The underclothing could also be the cause of the problem
8. Finally, it could even be a problem due to the skin quality of the person who is training or
due to their physical condition.
With this example, we see that it is most important to limit a problem as much as possible in
order to find out where exactly the cause of it lies. For this purpose, we recommend ruling out all
possible “culprits” one by one. This is done as systematically as possible. In the above example,
this means trying to isolate each of the possible causes.
For 1) If possible, connect the person with the same suit, cable, distributor and distribution cable
to a different device and check if the error occurs again. If there is no second device, then all other
points need to be ruled out before it can be concluded that the device is the cause.
For 2) Replace the distribution cable with another one. If no other cable is available, then bend
the distribution cable under a flow of current (especially at the ends close to the plug) to see if this
affects the flow of current.
For 3) Replace the distributor with another one.
For 4) This is difficult to check if it is only a matter of a loose connection. If the cable really is de-
fective, this can be checked with a multimeter and identified as the cause. For this purpose, the
contact pin of the multimeter is held against the pushbutton on the electrode and then against
the respective contact on the distributor holder on the suit. For this test, please follow the special
instructions on the topic of electrodes.
For 5) If it is suspected that the AmpliTrode itself is damaged, then this can only really be finally
clarified with a suitable measuring device. Therefore, the process of elimination is recommended
