1INTRODUCTION
These instructions have been prepared carefully. If you have found that there is something
incorrect in this manual, please give us feedback then we can improve later.
We will make necessary changes about the data and display for the instructions with the
developing and improving of the product performance.

2FUNCTION SAFETY AND PRECAUTIONS
Please read this operating manual before use!
The performance of the device depended on the operation and maintenance.
Calibration and maintenance must be carried out by authorised person according to the
requirements of local government.
Maintenance can only be done by authorised service personnel.
Only spare parts from Shenzhen Intermed Co., Ltd. can be used for repairs.
The sensor used in the device contains chemical material and must be disposed according to
local regulations.
3PRODUCT AND FUNCTION
The AlcoEasy A65 is new generation alcohol analyzer. The newest technology has been used
in this device.
AlcoEasy A65 has used fuel cell sensor which doesn't react with other substances, so make
surethe accuracy of the test.
AlcoEasy A65 used the professional gas flow measurement technique, this ensures that the
sensor receives only deep lung air which reflects the blood alcohol content correctly.
The device is equipped with 20,000 data memory and USB port. The data can be printed out
through a printer or managed in PC. The PC software allow the user to take maintenance,
calibration and the device settings.
The AlcoEasy A65 has been developed for the fast and accurate measurement of the alcohol
level in a person’s breath. It is suitable for professional alcohol checking.

5Preparing for operation
5.1 Start with a new device
The AlcoEasy A65 is calibrated according to the requirements before they reach to the user.
5.2 Start with a used device
It should be clear that the device was calibrated before use. If it was expired for calibration,
the device can’t be used.
5.3 Operating on active mode
With active mode, the device can measure the alcohol with high accurate. It is ensured
that only deep lung air is sampled by the sensor in this mode.
5.4 How to take measure
Press down the power button for 1 second, the device will be switched on.There will have a
self-check after switch on.During this check,the device logo,software version and the date
and time for next calibration will be on the screen.

5.5 Take measure with active mode
5.5.1 Requirements
Residual alcohol in the mouth will cause a wrong reading during the measurement.
It should be clear that the person to be tested has not drunk any alcohol just before
measuring is taken. Otherwise, the test should wait at least 15 minutes.
The mouth freshener,syrup and medical also will cause wrong reading.
Smoking will destroy the device and lead to wrong reading. No smoking before
measnurement. Or the person should wait at least 2 minutes after smoking.
5.5.2 Measuring
Put in mouthpiece
The mouthpiece has to be inserted into the mouthpiece port before blow. The mouthpiece
can only be used one time.

There will have buzzer during blow, the test person should blow enough air into the device.
Please pay attention to make the expiration aperture free during blow.
Notice
You will hear beep sound during blow, and it will not stop until blowing enough volume.
When alcohol analysis, it will show as below:

TESTING
The time of automatic process is decided to the concentration of the breath alcohol.
5.5.3 Printing
After the air has been analysed, the reading is apper, the operator can print out the
reading by pressing the “print” button.

Attention:
Only after one printing has been completed,the next printing can be started.
The user can print any record in the “Results”menu.

The data will be stored on flash memoery inside, it will not lose any data even there is no
power in the device.
If the measured value is above of the measurement range (0-5,5‰) the display shows
the following message:

If there is no use for more than 2.5 minutes, the device will turn off automatically
5.7 Error message
5.7.1 Blow failure
If the test person didn’t blow enough air into the device,it will show Blow Failure on the
display.

5.7.2 Low battery
When the battery is low,there will have an alarm and Please Charge message will be on the
display.The device will be off in 10 minutes.

6Data store
The device can store 20,000 measrues data, including the reading, date, time and record
no.
The data in the flash memory will not be lost even there is no power on the device.
The flash memory will be overwritten if it is full, but there will have an alarm before
overwritten. The first data will be overwritten if the memory is full.
When 90% of the flash memory is full, there will have a message on the display.
When the device finish 5000 times measurements, it will show as below again.
And only after this, the device will recover the old data by new data.

7.1 Active mode
If select “Active mode”, you will hear beep sound during blow, and it will not stop untill
blowing volume reached 1.0 L. The screen will show:

7.2 Passive mode
The purpose of the passive mode is for detection of the alcohol in ambient.
This mode didn't serve as an accurate measurement. The value measured only indicates
that there is alcohol in air. Only active mode will have an accurate reading.
In Passive Mode, display will show “Sampling”, put the device close enough to the nose or
mouth to the tester, request they blow direct to the device and press “Start” button, the
device will sample and analyzed.

Notice:
No need to use mouthpieces during passive mode.
Put the device close enough to the nose or mouth to the tester, press “Start” button, the
device will sample and analyzed, and the result will be shown on the screen, meanwhile
the indicate light is on. The result is shown as below.

8Cleaning
8.1 General care
Only mild cleaning agents can be used to clean the device.
Organic solvents such as pure alcohol, acetone, turpentine etc. are not allowed for cleaning.
Be care for not let water come into the device inside.
8.2 USB Port
Keep the USB port in a dry and clean condition.

9Calibration & Services
Regarding the local regulations, the device must be calibrated every 6 months to make
sure the device work in good condition or required by local regulation.
Calibration should operate by authorized person.
