EBC E80 Female Connector Assembly Instructions
Base Kit Components:

1. Strip wire per length specied in the table below (Figure 1)

2. Insert wire into contact crimp barrel unl wire booms in barrel. Solder or crimp contacts. Note: If using a double crimp locator, as shown in Figure 1A
make the outer crimp rst, then the inner crimp.
3. Pick up the holder and locate the Top and Boom sides based on the diagrams below.

4. For Use of Air Tube (Installed on boom side):
a. Orient air tube (Figure 2) so that air inlet faces towards holder
b. Line up air tube circular grooves in air tube to U-shapes in holder
c. Press on air tube unl the grooves snap into the U-shapes
d. Air tube should stay in place when holder is ipped over

5. For Use of Lower Pilot/Auxiliaries (Installed on boom side):
a. Orient lower pilot/auxiliaries as shown in (Figure 3)
b. Line up contact grooves to U-shapes in holder
c. Press on each contact unl the groove snaps into the U-shape

6. Install the upper auxiliary contacts on the top of the holder (Figure 5):
a. Pass the upper auxiliary leads on either side of the holder locking tab
b. Snap the groove of each contact into the retenon feature by pushing from
the center outward and down
c. The contacts should hold securely in the retenon feature

7. Install terminated power contacts into the contact holder:
CAUTION: Observe proper polarity. The posive and negave pin sides are indicated in Figure 6.
a. Line up the socket contact with the opening in the holder
b. Push the contact forward unl the snap feature grabs the contact shoulder
c. Repeat with the other socket on the opposite side

8. Install the fully assembled contact holder into the socket housing (Figure 7):
a. Orient both the holder and the housing with polarity markings facing up.
b. Slide the holder into the housing, lining up all contacts with their respec-
ve openings
c. Push from the back of the holder unl the holder locking tab snaps into
the rectangular/domed opening (Figure 8)

9. Install the voltage pin into the housing: The pin installs in the hex shaped opening on the inside of the plug housing.
a. Orient the pin for the desired voltage. With the dry or wet voltage pins, the inner numbers correspond to the
socket housing voltage.
b. Push the pin forward, verifying that the pin is in the right orientaon. (Figure 9)
c. Once the front of the pin is equal with the front of the housing, use a screwdriver to push the pin further unl it
snaps in place.
NOTE: Yellow universal key is not used with female housings

10. Secure the power cables using the cable clamps and self-tapping screws:
a. Line up the top and boom clamp with open pillars at the cable side of the housing (note the upper clamp
has a larger “U” and should be on the side with polarity markings). (Figure 10)
b. Install the two screws in the open holes on the upper clamp.
c. Hold the two clamps ght to the cable while ghtening the screws. Auxiliary wires will pass through “U”
and may not be grabbed by the clamp.
d. Tighten to .7 to 1.0 N-M [6 – 9 in-lb] of torque. (Figure 10)

11. Install the oponal handle on the top (polarity mark side) of the housing (Figure 11):
a. Align the two posts on the underside of the handle with the two holes on the housing.
b. Push down on the handle unl the it is all the way down on the housing
c. Use the two self-tapping screws to secure the handle. Tighten to .7 to 1.0 N-M [6 – 9 in-lb] of torque. Figure 11
If necessary to disassemble the connector, follow these instrucons (Figure 12):
1. Turn o all power sources
2. Remove the top and boom cable clamps (oponal handle does not need to be removed)
3. Slide a small at screwdriver in through the back of the housing near the holder catch
4. Carefully rotate the screwdriver towards the back of the housing. The blade must wedge between the catch
and the inside top of the housing, forcing the catch down.
5. Grasp both power wires and pull back unl the holder is clear of the housing. This may require some force.

INNENAUFNAHMEN
1. Isolieren Sie das Kabel der Länge nach ab, wie in der Tabelle unten gezeigt (Abbildung 1)

2. Stecken Sie das Kabel in die Crimphülse, bis es anstößt. Kontakte verlöten oder crimpen. Hinweis: Bei der Verwendung einer gecrimpten Doppelaufnahme,
wie in Abbildung 1A gezeigt, stellen Sie zunächst die äußere Crimpverbindung her und danach die innere.
3. Nehmen Sie den Halter auf und idenzieren Sie die Ober- und Unterseite anhand der Zeichnungen unten

4. Für die Verwendung mit einem Luschlauch (an der Unterseite monert):
a. Luschlauch (Abbildung 2) ausrichten, so dass der Lueinlass in Richtung des Halters weist
b. Die umlaufenden Nuten des Luschlauchs in den U-Formen im Halter platzieren
c. Auf den Luschlauch drücken, bis die Nuten in die U-Formen einrasten
d. Luschlauch sollte xiert sein, wenn der Halter umgedreht wird

HINWEIS: Nutzen Sie entweder den Luschlauch oder die unteren Führungs-/Hilfskontakte
5. Für die Verwendung mit unteren Führungs-/Hilfskabeln (an der Unterseite monert):
a. Die unteren Führungs-/Hilfskabel wie in (Abbildung 3) gezeigt ausrichten
b. Kontaktnuten an den U-Formen des Halters ausrichten
c. Auf jeden Kontakt drücken, bis die Nuten in die U-Formen einrasten

6. Die oberen Hilfskontakte auf dem Halter moneren (Abbildung 5):
a. Die oberen Hilfsleitungen an einer beliebigen Seite der Halterungssperrhaken
entlangführen
b. Die Nut jedes Kontakts in die Rückhaltevorrichtung einrasten, indem von der
Mie nach außen gedrückt wird
c. Die Kontakte sollten sicher in der Rückhaltevorrichtung gehalten werden

7. Angeschlossene Stromkontakte im Kontakthalter moneren:
VORSICHT: Richge Polarität beachten. Die posive und negave Steckerseite wird in Abbildung 6 gezeigt.
a. Den Buchsenkontakt auf die Önung in der Halterung ausrichten
b. Den Kontakt nach vorn drücken, bis die Einrastvorrichtung den Kontaktbund grei
c. Mit der anderen Buchse auf der anderen Seite wiederholen

8. Den vollständig zusammengebauten Kontakthalter im Buchsengehäuse
moneren (Abbildung 7):
a. Halter und Gehäuse mit den Polaritätskennzeichen nach oben ausrichten
b. Den Halter in das Gehäuse schieben, wobei alle Kontakte den jeweiligen
Önungen zugeordnet werden
c. Von der Rückseite des Halters drücken, bis der Sperrhaken des Halters
in die rechteckige/gewölbte Önung (Abbildung 8) einrastet

9. Den Spannungsstecker im Gehäuse moneren: Der Stecker wird in der Sechskantönung innen im Steckergehäuse
monert.
a. Den Stecker an der gewünschten Spannung ausrichten. Bei Trocken-/Feuchtspannungssteckern entsprechen die
inneren Zahlen der Buchsengehäuse-Spannung
b. Den Stecker nach vorn drücken, wobei sichergestellt wird, dass der Stecker richg ausgerichtet ist (Abbildung 9)
c. Sobald der Stecker mit der Gehäusevorderseite abschließt, einen Schraubenzieher verwenden, um den Stecker
weiterzudrücken, bis er einrastet
HINWEIS: Der gelbe Universalkeil wird bei Buchsengehäusen nicht verwendet

10. Die Stromkabel miels Kabelklammern und selbstschneidenden Schrauben befesgen:
a. Obere und untere Klammer an den oenen Stützen auf der Kabelseite des Gehäuses ausrichten (beachten
Sie, dass die obere Klammer ein größeres „U“ hat und sich auf der Seite der Polaritätskennzeichen benden
sollte) (Abbildung 10)
b. Die beiden Schrauben in den oenen Löchern der oberen Klammer platzieren
c. Die beiden Klammern eng an das Kabel drücken, während die Schrauben angezogen werden. Hilfskabel
werden durch das „U“ geführt und dürfen nicht von der Klammer berührt werden
d. Auf ein Drehmoment von 0,7 bis 1,0 Nm anziehen (Abbildung 10)

11. Den oponalen Gri an der Oberseite (Polaritätskennzeichenseite) des Gehäuses (Abbildung 11) moneren:
a. Die zwei Stützen auf der Unterseite des Gris an den zwei äußeren Löchern des Gehäuses ausrichten
b. Den Gri vollständig auf das Gehäuse herunterdrücken
c. Die zwei selbstschneidenden Schrauben zur Fixierung des Gris verwenden. Auf ein Drehmoment von
0,7 bis 1,0 Nm anziehen Abbildung 11
Wenn es notwendig ist, den Stecker auseinanderzubauen, diese Anweisungen (Abbildung 12) befolgen:
1. Alle Stromquellen abschalten
2. Die oberen und unteren Kabelklammern enernen (oponaler Gri muss nicht enernt werden)
3. Schlitzschraubendreher durch die Gehäuserückseite in der Nähe des Verschlusses einführen
4. Den Schraubendreher vorsichg in Richtung der Gehäuserückseite drehen. Das vordere Schraubendreherende muss zwischen
den Verschluss und das Gehäuseoberseiteninnere gedrückt werden, wobei der Verschluss nach unten gedrückt wird
5. Beide Stromkabel greifen und zurückziehen, bis der Halter vom Gehäuse getrennt ist. Benögt möglicherweise etwas Kra
