Proper service and repair is important to the safe, reliable operation of all AOC Company Equipment. The service
procedures recommended by AOC and described in this service manual are effective methods of performing service
operations. Some of these service operations require the use of tools specially designed for the purpose. The
special tools should be used when and as recommended.
It is important to note that this manual contains various CAUTIONS and NOTICES which should be carefully read in
order to minimize the risk of personal injury to service personnel. The possibility exists that improper service
methods may damage the equipment. It is also important to understand that these CAUTIONS and NOTICES ARE
NOT EXHAUSTIVE. AOC could not possibly know, evaluate and advise the service trade of all conceivable ways in
which service might be done or of the possible hazardous consequences of each way. Consequently, AOC has not
undertaken any such broad evaluation. Accordingly, a servicer who uses a service procedure or tool which is not
recommended by AOC must first satisfy himself thoroughly that neither his safety nor the safe operation of the
equipment will be jeopardized by the service method selected.
Hereafter throughout this manual, AOC Company will be referred to as AOC.

Take care during handling the LCD module with backlight unit
-Must mount the module using mounting holes arranged in four corners.
-Do not press on the panel, edge of the frame strongly or electric shock as this will result in damage to the screen.
-Do not scratch or press on the panel with any sharp objects, such as pencil or pen as this may result in damage to
the panel.
-Protect the module from the ESD as it may damage the electronic circuit (C-MOS).
-Make certain that treatment person’s body is grounded through wristband.
-Do not leave the module in high temperature and in areas of high humidity for a long time.
-Avoid contact with water as it may a short circuit within the module.
-If the surface of panel becomes dirty, please wipe it off with a soft material. (Cleaning with a dirty or rough cloth may
damage the panel.)

2.1 The Use of Remote Control

2.2 To Use the Menus
1. Press the MENU button to display or close main menu.
2. Use the up/down to select a menu item.
3. Use the cursor left/right to enter a submenu or enable/disable the function.
4. Press the MENU button to exit the menu.
Press the MENU button to enter the main OSD (On Screen Display). Adjust the items including Audio setup, Video
setup, V-Chip setup, Function setup and TV setup. When the input source is VGA or Component mode, only the
Audio setup, Video setup and Function setup can be selected;
When the input source is TV mode, the Audio Setup, Video Setup, V-chip Setup, Function Setup and TV Setup can
be selected.
Audio Setup (Same as in VGA, TV, AV, S-Video and Components mode)
1. The range of Volume, Bass and Treble is 0~100.
2. The range of Balance is -50~+50. Adjusted from 0 to -50, the sound from the right track fades until silent.
Adjusted from 0 to +50, the sound from the left track fades until silent.
3. Preset: Select audio preset mode according to your preference. You can select Personal, Voice, Music and
Theatre mode.
4. Equalizer: You can select and adjust 100, 300, 1K, 3K and 8K respectively (the figures represent the sound
frequency range).

5. Reset to default: Reset the audio setting to the factory default value.
Video setup
When the input source is in VGA mode, you can select Brightness, Contrast, Position, Video noise, Sharpness,
Auto adjust, Information, Color Temp. and Reset to default .
1. Brightness and Contrast: The range can be adjusted from 0~100.
2. Position: There are two options, Horizontal and Vertical, could adjust from -50 to +50 to adjust picture position on
screen.
3. Video noise: There are two options, Phase and Clock, could adjust from -50 to +50.
4. Sharpness: Select from five options of Normal, Softest, Soft, Sharp and Sharpest.
5. Auto adjust: Automatically adjust PC input to the optimal screen size.
6. Information: Prompt the current size for PC input definition
7. Color Temp.: There are five options of color temperature provided for users –SRGB, Normal, Cool, Warm and
User. You can select the four-color temperatures of SRGB, Normal, Cool and warm or manually adjust red, green
or blue in the user setting (you can only adjust red, green and blue in the user color).
8. Reset to default: Reset the video setting to the factory default value. When the input source is in
TV/AV/S-Video/Component mode, you can select Brightness, Contrast ,Color, Sharpness, Tint, Dyn. skin tone,
Color Temp. , Preset, Size and Reset to default.

1. Brightness and Contrast: The range can be adjusted from 0~100.
2. Color: Could adjust from 0 to 100 to adjust the color saturation of picture.
3. Sharpness: Select from five options of Normal, Softest, Soft, Sharp and Sharpest.
4. Tint: Could adjust from 0 to 100 to adjust the color of picture.
5. Dyn. Skin tone: When the Dynamic skin tone is ON, the skin tone of person in the picture will be more vivid.
6. Color Temp.: There are three options of color temperature provided for users –Normal, Cool and Warm.
7. Preset: Select video preset mode according to your preference. You can select Personal, Movie, Sport Weak
signal and Game.
8. Size: There are five options –Normal, Wide 1, Wide 2, Zoom and Cinema.
9. Reset to default: Reset the video setting to the factory default value.
Function Setup
When the input source is in all mode, you can select Set time, Language , Sleep time and Reset to default ,But CC
and CC Preset just only for AV/S-Video/TV mode
1. Set time: You can set clock with up/down key. After pulling out power cord, clock will be call back to 12:00 AM.
You should set again when you plug power cord.
2. Language: Three languages provided - English, Portuguese and Spanish.
3. Sleep timer: Set the sleeping timer and the alert function, which will indicate the time left. You can set as
5,10,15,30,45,60,90,120,180,240 Min or off
4. CC: Set Close caption function on or off
5. CC Preset: Set Close caption channel. You can select CC1~CC4,TT1~TT4.
6. Reset to default: Reset the function setting to the factory default value.

V-Chip Setup
The following menu appears only in AV, S-Video and TV mode.
1. Child Lock: You can set child lock function on or disable it.
2. Age: It could set to be Child, Youth, Youth Adult, Adult, Custom and off. Each Age setting changes the rating
settings accordingly. When Age is set to Custom, you can set the below rating respectively.
3. MPAA Rating: Select the movie ratings from low to high - G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, X and off.
4. PG Rating: To set the TV rating from low to high: TV-Y, TV-Y7, TV-G, TV-PG, TV-14 and TV-MA.
5. Can. English: To set the rating from low to high: E, C, C8+, G, PG,14+ and 18+.
6. Can. French: To set the rating from low to high: E, G, 8+, 13+, 16+ and 18+.
7. Set password: You can set new password with this item. Select Set password, then press right key, will show
below window:
Press the number buttons to enter the old password. If you have not set a password, enter 0000. If you forget the
password you set, please input 3448, then set new password again.After input old password, there will show below
window:
Input new password you want set, then there will show confirm window as below:

Press the number buttons to enter the new password again, to confirm.
TV Setup
The following menu appears only in the TV mode.
1. Program no.: Shows the current channel number. You can change program no with left/right key of remote
control.
2. Tuning mode: Select the mode of TV signal –Cable
3. TV System: There are four options as NTSC-M, Auto, PAL-M and PAL-N. Recommend set it to auto.
4. Auto search: Select "Auto Search" to search all signaled channel; when the search is complete, it stays at the
first channel with signal and all channels that have been located are stored. If you would like to stop "Auto
Search" during the process, press the Menu button.
5. Fine Tuning: Fine Tune frequency of current program.
6. AFC: AFC can be set to ON or OFF. When it is set to ON, the TV will search the TV signal automatically. When
there is any offset in the signal, it will automatically adjust the channel to the correct position.
7. Skip: can be set to ON or OFF. When it is set to ON, the channel without signal can be skipped by pressing the
up/down button on the remote control or on the front panel.
8. Reset to default: Reset the TV setting to the factory default value.

2.3 How to Connect
Remove the back plate at the back of the TV as shown on the illustration opposite. Lay the LCD TV with the screen
down on a table, as it will be easier to connect your peripheral equipment. Please take precaution not to damage the
screen.

Video recorder
How to connect
1. Connect the supplied antenna cable to the RF IN port of your VCR.
2. Connect another FR cable from the port of your VCR to the antenna port of you TV set. If you have connected the
video/audio cable to the video AV port, you may have better sound and picture when playing the VCR .
If your VCR has an S-VHS video jack:
For improved picture quality, connect a S-Video cable with the S-VIDEO input on the TV.
S-Video does not provide audio, audio cables must still be connected to provide sound (AV and S terminal share
one audio input).
Watching VCR
1. If you use connection TV, select the TV channel auto search.
2. If you use connection AV, select video AV input.
3. Insert videotape in the VCR and press the PLAY button.

DVD Player
How to connect
1. Connect 3 separate components signal cables to the Y, Pb and Pr ports of the component signal of the DVD
player, and the Y, Pb and Pr ports of the component signal of theTV set.
2. Connect the audio cable to the audio output port of the DVD player and the audio input port of the component
signal of the TV set.
How to use
1. Select Component mode.
2. Turn on the DVD set.
Camera camcorder video game set….
How to connect
1. Connect the camera, camcorder and game set to the ports of the audio/video set.
2. The camcorder may get better picture by connecting a S-Video cable between the equipment and the TV set.
How to use it
1. Select the video AV or S-Video input.
2. Enable the exterior AV equipment.
Digital set top box
Connect the top box to the input port of the component signal.
How to connect
1. Connect 3 separate component signal cables to the Y, Pb and Pr ports of the component signal of the Digital TV/
Top Box, and the Y, Pb and Pr ports of the component signal of theTV set.
2. Connect the audio cable with the audio port of the Digital TV/Top Box and the audio port of the TV set.
How to use
1. Select Component.
2. Turn on the DVD set-Top box set.
Headphone
1. The headphone jack is located at the rear corner of the TV.
2. The MUTE key on the remote control works on both internal speaker and the headphone.
3. Use volume key to adjust the volume.
