Essence™ Spa Operating Manual
Prior to Operating the Essence™ Spa
Prior to operating the Essence™ Spa, it is critical that the following items be performed.
Proper Training
Proper training in the use of the equipment is required and will enhance the pleasure of the bathing experience.
It will also provide the required safety awareness that must be observed with this and all bathing equipment.
Door Safety
e Essence™ Spa has a unique powered door system that provides a large door with a low entry height to
provide an easy entry. is door can also sense obstructions or resistance during operation to protect the
resident from injury. Because of the sensitivity of this system, the door must be stored in the up position when
not in use. If the door is le in the down position for an extended period of time, the safety system in the door
may prevent the door from rising completely. is occurs because the door material can retain a curl from being
le in the down position. is extra resistance is sensed by the safety system and the door stops. If this occurs,
it may be necessary to lightly assist the door while it is going up, until the door gets to the full up position and is
sealed. e door should function normally aer it has been in the up position through the next bathing cycle. To
prevent this, be sure to leave the door in the up position between baths.
Check proper operation of the mixing valve
Hot water can scald. It is important that a comfortable bathing water temperature be reached and maintained.
Open the drain and turn on the water to the bath. Monitor the incoming water by watching the color coded
thermometer and by feeling the water as it enters the bath. Adjust water to desired temperature by rotating
the control knob of the mixing valve. e mixing valve is number coded as well as color coded. Rotating
the knob toward the lower numbers delivers cooler water and rotating the knob toward the higher numbers
delivers warmer water. If comfortable water cannot be reached or maintained, immediately contact a qualied
maintenance person, or the Technical Service Department at the Apollo Corporation.
To prevent possible personal injury from slippage, be sure the oor around the bathing area
is kept dry and a non-slip mat or towel is available to step on when exiting the bath.
Transportation and Storage Conditions
