1General Description
Thanks for choosing our Aristel KTS Special single line telephoneSLT70.
The SLT70 is expertly designed for Key Telephone System. It provides all the
functions of acaller IDtelephone as well as the following main special features:
lAll the existing settings can be savedin case of Power-fail.
lAdjustable hook-flashtime avoid on-hold problems.
lTransfer Key with adjustable flash time to ensure correct transfer operation.
lBy setting CO Hunting code, this phoneprovides last number re-dialing no
matter what system it is connected to.
lThis phone is very suitable as a hotel-telephone for it provides a message
waiting indicationLED.
lThis phoneprovides one-touch functionsby programming the 15 DSS keys.

3Facility Operation
3.1 Telephone Basic Parameter Setting
Telephone Basic Parameter Setting (on hook)
Description:
1> OnHook —Press prom Key to enter Setting Status, Press prom Key repeatedly to
change setting menu. (3.1.1-3.1.3)
2> After every setting, Press prom Key to save this setting and switch to another(3.1.1-3.1.3)
3> Off Hook / Press SPK Key to exit setting status.
3.1.1 LCD Brightness Adjustment
LCD Displaysas “LCD”
Press ?or?Key to adjust LCD brightness to the level required. (Totally there are 5
different brightness levels.)
Default: 2
3.1.2 Ringing Volume Adjustment
LCD Displaysas “rVOL”
Press ?or?Key to adjust ringing volume to the level required. (Totally there are 3
different volume levels.)
Default: 2
3.1.3 Local Area Code Setting
LCD Displaysas “LOCAL”
Press the local area code directly, and thentelephone can delete area code on LCD with
every incoming call.
3.1.4 Time Setting
Press CLOCK Key to enter setting, 1st digit of time blinks……
Press ?or?Key to adjust time, Press CLOCK Key to save and move the cursor.
Off hook to exit setting.
This telephone provides the function of FSK Auto time updating, that is, when this phone is
connected directly to telephone Line, the time and date will be updated automatically while
receiving a phone call with FSK CLI enabled.
3.1.5 Alarm Clock Setting
Press ALARM Key to enter setting, Press cfm Key to save and exit setting.
Off hook to cancel and exit setting.

Adjust Ringing Duration to “00”to close the alarm clock.
Default: 00 00 00
While Onhook, Left-bottom of LCD displays the time, and right-bottomdisplays the alarm.

Description:
This phone’s Basic Parameter Setting while Off hook.
3.1.6 Speaker Volume Adjustment
Press SPK Key to use handsfree, Press ?or?Key to adjust Speaker volume to the level
required. (Totally there are 3different volume levels.)
Right-above of LCD displays volume level.
Default: 2
3.1.7 Handset Volume Adjustment
Pick up handset, Press ?or?Key to adjust Handset volume to the level required.
(Totally there are 4different volume level required.)
Right-above of LCD displays volume level.
Default: 2
3.2 Telephone Basic Function Operation
3.2.1 Incoming Messages
Press IN Key to display the last incoming number, Use ?/ ?Key to display the incoming
number, date and time.
Press del Key to delete the current record.
3.2.2 Outgoing Messages
Press OUTKey to display the last outgoing number, Use ?/ ?Key to display the
outgoing number, date and time.
Press del Key to delete the current record.
3.2.3 Dial-back /Addition-dialing
While LCD displays incoming, outgoing, or VIP messages, Press REDIAL Key to dial-back
the displayed number.
Press REDIAL Key twice quickly to addition-dial the displaying number.(Telephone will
add a code “0” before this number automatically before dialing)

3.2.4 Transfer/Flash
Off Hook —Press TRF/FL Key, this is an adjustable hook flash; refer to “Chart 4.4 Function
Setting”. If this telephone is used as extension of a telephone system, press TRF/FL Key
and dial request extension number to transfer the call.
3.2.5 Re-dialing
Off Hook —Press REDIAL Key to redial the last number.
3.2.6 Pause Function
While dialing, Press PAUSE Key to insert a delay of 990ms (This duration is adjustable,
refer to “Chart 4.4 Function Setting”). During function setting, Press PAUSE Key once
means put in one unit pause time.
3.2.7 VIP Management
The phone number stored in incoming/outgoing messages can be memorized as VIP by
pressing ENTER Key.
Press VIP Key to display VIP number, Use ?/ ?Key to inquire the VIP messages.
Press del Key to delete the current record.
3.2.8 Mute Function
Whilst Talking —Press MUTE Key to mute, come back to converse by release that key.
3.2.9 One-touch Dialing
On hook/off hook —Press DSS Key (DSS1~DSS15)to dial the number programmed in the
DSS key (refer to Chart 4.3 DSS Key Setting).
When DSS key is programmed as a line, the telephone can auto add “CO Hunting Code”
while one-touch dialing.
3.2.10 Hands free Function
Onhook —Press SPK Key once,commence hands free dialing/speaker mode, Press
SPK Key again to end the call.
3.2.11 Auto Release Line
If not hung up properly, thetelephone can automatically cut off the line after CO Line
defined Busy-tone-detection time is reached.
3.2.12 IP Card Function?ARS/LCR?
Refer to Chart4.4.1 ARS/LCR Setting.

3.3 Special Function under Aristel KTS Mode
Special Function under Aristel KTS Mode
Description:
1> Under Aristel KTS mode, you can use almost all the functions that an Aristel Key Phone
can by operating specialcodes..
2> For theSLT70, we have already set these special codesto appointed DSS key to provide
one-touch functioningunder Aristel KTS mode. Of course, customers also can change
DSS key default by setting.
3.3.1 Ext. Paging (#0)
Press page Key directlyto page Aristel key phone and special SLT.
3.3.2 Meet Me Page (#*)
Hearing paging —Press be page Key to answer paging.
3.3.3 Pick Up (*1)
Press pick up Key directly to pick up a call to a ringing extension.
3.3.4 Account Code (#7*)
Press fac Key directly, dial account code, and then dial required phone no.
3.3.5 CO Auto Page
Talk with a CO Line —Press auto page Key to hold this line with LCD displays as: CO**
(** means CO line no.). At the same time, the telephone begins paging.
3.3.6 System Speed-dialing (#81)
Press spd Key, then dial individual speed-dialing number.
3.3.7Direct Outward Dialing (0 or 9)
Press dod Key, then telephone can auto hunt a free CO line.
3.3.7 Direct Trunk Dialing, CO1-CO8 (*41-*48)
Press 1–8Key, then telephone will auto hunt for the appointed CO line.

Description:
1> Advanced telephone function settings.
2> During function setting, press del key to delete characters; Press ?/ ?key to move the
cursor; Press cfm key to save current settings; Press prom key to cancel the last setting
and exit to main menu.
3> There are two kinds of setting method:
DSS Key Setting: This method is to use prom Key to define DSS-defined-code directly.
System Function Setting:This method is to use prom Key and function code to enable t
his
telephone’s special functionsand parameter defining.
4.1 Enter setting Status
Off hook —prom Key + password + cfm Key —Enter setting Status
Default of telephone’s password: 000000.

Setting Status —Onhook —Exit Setting Status.
4.3 DSS Key Setting
Setting Status —DSS Key + DSS-defined-code + cfm Key —Press ?/ ?Key to change
DSS Key’s function (Co. / Ext.)
Note:1. 15 DSS Key meansthe15 Memory Keys.
2. During setting DSS-defined-code, you may put in:
PAUSE Key: Press PAUSE Key once means put in one unit of pause time (Refer
to Chart 4.4.8). You may press PAUSE Key more than once
according to your requirement, displayed as ”P”.
REDIAL Key: Press REDIAL Key means voice Identification characters. While
finished dialing previous DSS-defined-code, you should dial next
code after Voice Detection, displayed as ”A”.
TRF/FL Key: Press TRF/FL Key once means put in one unit of flash time (Refer to
Chart 4.4.7), displayed as ”F”.
MUTE Key: Press MUTE Key once means put in one unit of ring off (Refer to
Chart 4.4.9), displayed as””(SPACE).

3. After DSS-defined-code setting, also do set the DSS Key’s function (Co. / Et.).
If set as “CO”, telephone can automatically add a CO Hunting code, then start
dialing.
Using: 1.Press DSS Key directly to dial the DSS-defined-code.
E.G.: In Aristel KTS, the Function-code of meet-me-page is “# * ”, After define DSS5
Key as “# * ”and set DSS5 Key’s attribute as Ext., DSS5 can provideone-touch
function of meet-me-page.
2.This definition can be used in conjunction with ARS/LCR setting to achieve more
functions.
4.4 System Function Setting
4.4.1 ARS/LCR Setting
Setting Status —00+ cfm Key +Initial Code (Max: 8 digits) + cfm Key
Note:1. a: Means DSS Key no. Only DSS1~DSS3 can use this function.
Press corresponding DSS Key (DSS1~3) to make choice.
2. b: Means Initial Code group no.
Press ?/?Key to change group no. Each DSS Key provides 30 (00~29) groups.
3. If the Initial code of dialing number is the same as any one among group
no.00~29, thetelephone will automatically add the corresponding
DSS-defined-code (this code can be put in flash, pause, voice ID and so on, see
Chart 4.3), then dialing.
4. DSS1-DSS3’s function should be defined as “CO”to enable ARS/LCR function.
4.4.2 Restricted Code Setting
Setting Status —00+ cfm Key + DSS4+Restricted number (Max:8digits) + cfm Key
Note:1. Press DSS4 Key to change a (1st digit) as “4”, and then enter restricted number
setting.

group no.00~29, thetelephone will restrict dialing.

4.4.3 Change Telephone’s Password

Note:Please do remember the password you set. When forgotten, please feel free to

Note:1. If thetelephone is used as extension of a KTS, you must do the above setting to
enable redialing, ARS/LCR and so on.
2.Thetelephone can be setthree groups of CO hunting code (each group Max. 8
digits)
3.Press REDIAL Key to put in one unit “A”. If the 2nd &3rd Group CO Hunting Code
include “A”, this digit is freewill-number.
4. When Re-dialing, Dial-back (incoming, outgoing or VIP number), it defaults the1st
group CO Hunting Code.
4.4.6 Busy Tone Parameter Setting
Setting Status —09+ cfm Key + Busy Tone On-1 Detection Time (0~199) + cfm Key
Default: 023 (23*15ms=345ms, unit: 15ms)
Setting Status —10+ cfm Key + Busy Tone Off-1 Detection Time (0~199) + cfm Key
Default: 023 (23*15ms=345ms, unit: 15ms)

Note:Thetelephone can set two groups of Busy Tone Detection Parameters.
KTSsmay have two kinds of Busy Tone, one supplied by the carrier; the other is
internal Busy Tone of the system. Some functionsof this telephone can work in
conjunction with Busy Tone Detection Technology.
4.4.7 Transfer Key Flash Time Setting
Setting Status —13+ cfm Key + Flash Time (0~199) + cfm Key
Default: 030 (30*10ms=300ms,unit: 10ms).
4.4.8 Pause Time Setting
Setting Status —14+ cfm Key + Pause Time (0~199) + cfm Key
Default: 033 (33*30ms=990ms,unit: 30ms).
4.4.9 Ring off Time Setting

Note: Some KTSsneed a delay time of off-hook signal detection, then start to receive
dialing digits.
Default under General Mode: 016 (16*30ms=480ms,unit: 30ms)
Default under Aristel KTS Mode: 004 (4*30ms=120ms,unit: 30ms)
4.4.11 Hook Delay Time Adjustment
Setting Status —17+ cfm Key + Hook Delay Time (0~199) + cfmKey
Default under General Mode: 010 (10*30ms=300ms,unit: 30ms)
Default under Aristel KTS Mode: 030 (30*30ms=900ms,unit: 30ms)
4.4.12 Be Paged Duration Setting
Setting Status —18+ cfm Key + Be Page Duration (0~199) + cfm Key
Default: 199 (199*1s=199s,unit: 1s)
Note: While the telephone is paged , it will hang up after the Be paged Duration time out. The
setting value “000”means Be Paged Duration takes no effect.
4.4.13 Headset Enable/Disable
Setting Status —19+ cfm Key + “0”or”1”+ cfm Key
(0:Disable,1:Enable)Default: 0
Note: When the headset is set enable, you will use a connected headset to have a call instead
of handset or handsfree. At this status, SPK is used to answer the call and hung up while the
hook switch takes no effect.
4.4.14 ARS/LCR Enable/Disable

(0:Disable,1:Enable)Default: 0
4.4.15 Tone/Pulse dialing Switch

Note: If above set as “1”(Pulse), you may press *Key to change to Tone-dialing mode
while off hook. After on hook,thetelephone will automatically return to Pulse-dialing mode.
