Assembling Instructions
Assembling the 4-Post Rack
Post Assembly - Corner Brackets
Each set of pressure plates are assembled to the corner brackets prior to delivery.
1. Please verify the following (see Fig. 4):
• Check if pressure plates are attached to the corner bracket with two M12 x 30 socket
low-head bolts.
• Verify that the lockwashers are installed at their proper place as shown.
Fig. 4
2. Fasten the corner bracket assembly to the top of each post. Do so for all four posts.
• Properly insert the two screws (M10 x 75 HEX) through the post and tighten to a torque
of 20 N•m (15 lbf•ft). Secure them with the corresponding locknuts using a 17 mm socket
tool or hexagonal key.
• Verify that the lockwashers are installed at their proper place as shown.
NOTE: At this stage, there is no need to tighten this part of the assembly.

11
Assembling Instructions
Post Assembly - Levelling Feet
3. Make sure that the levelling feet turn easily and without friction.
• Verify that the M6 x 10 HC screws (part #000.03030) does not protrude into the inner
cavity of the levelling feet before attempting to insert the posts.
Fig. 5
4. Adjust the bottom part of the levelling feet so as to leave about 10 mm (3/8 in) for later
adjustments. Insert each post within its corresponding levelling foot.

12
Assembling Instructions
• Tighten the M6 x 10 HC screws to a torque of 4 N•m (3 lbf•ft).
Fig. 7
End Stoppers
5. End stoppers must be securely positioned in various places within the Semi-Permanent
Rack system. These stoppers:
• prevent collisions between the mobile XY track and the corner brackets;
• make the installation safer by greatly reducing the risk of the mobile track shifting from
its position in the event that the end of the track should be subjected to a violent impact;
• prevent the installed track lift from falling from either end of the mobile track.
Follow these assembly instructions carefully and refer to Figures 9 to 20 for the installation of
the end stoppers.

screws to 4 N•m

Assembling Instructions
Fastening the Fixed Tracks to the Post Assembly
Make sure that the fixed tracks are properly inserted on the correct side (see Fig. 8).
Fig. 8
6. Choose two of the four fixed track sections that will hold the trolleys for the mobile track
(see Fig. 2, item #4)
7. Slide the individual XY kit trolleys and end stoppers into both of the selected fixed track
sections (see Fig. 9).

14
Assembling Instructions
8. Insert the selected fixed track sections into the corner brackets with the pressure plates
positioned in the lower channel of the fixed track (see Fig. 10). Be careful not to allow the
trolleys for the mobile track or the end stoppers to fall out.
Fig. 10
9. Make sure that the fixed tracks are positioned flush with the outer edges of the corner
bracket of the top post assembly (see Fig. 11).
Fig. 11
10. Secure the assembly by firmly tightening the four M12 x 30 low head socket screws
located on the bottom of each of the corner brackets (see Fig. 12).

15
Assembling Instructions
Fig. 12
11. Slide the four individual autolock end stoppers towards the four ends of the two parallel
tracks, to prevent the mobile XY track from running into any of the corner brackets.
12. Tighten the setscrews on the end stoppers using a 6 mm Allen key. Make sure that the
lockwashers are installed in their correct positions.
13. Insert the white plastic caps onto the ends of the 4 tracks.
Levelling the assembly
14. Place a bubble level on one of the horizontal tracks.
15. The first person can raise the posts from the ground while the other adjusts the level by
rotating the bottom of the levelling feet until the horizontal track is perfectly horizontal.
16. Move the bubble level to the next horizontal track and repeat these steps until the entire
rack is perfectly levelled.
CAUTION: Make sure that the lockwashers are installed at the proper locations.
8 mm Allen key
NOTE: You must level the assembly before mounting the mobile track to the system.
Two people are needed to level the Semi-Permanent Rack system.
Do not place hands under the posts. Grab the levelling feet by the side to prevent the
risk of fingers being pinching when performing adjustments.
Do not force the levelling feet to extend beyond their maximum adjustable height of
25,4 mm (1 in).

16
Assembling Instructions
Mounting the Mobile Track
The 4-Post Semi-Permanent Rack system is designed to receive a track lift for safe patient
transfers. The track lift is installed on a mobile track that allows the lift to move within the area
spanned by the 4-Post system.
Once all four fixed tracks are joined to their corresponding posts:
17. Slide the mobile track onto the wheeled trolleys suspended under the parallel fixed tracks.
Be sure to include the end stoppers that came wrapped with the XY trolley kit in the right
sequence and direction (see Fig. 13 and Fig. 14).
Fig. 13

17
Assembling Instructions
Fig. 14
Once the mobile track is in place:
18. Straighten the track so that it is squared to the fixed tracks.
19. Tighten both M12 bolts on each trolley with a 19 mm wrench (see Fig. 15).
Fig. 15

18
Assembling Instructions
20. Slide the mobile track completely from one end of the 4-post system to the other end to
make sure that the track is perfectly squared. The mobile track should contact the end
stoppers of the fixed track evenly. If not, loosen the setscrews, readjust the mobile track,
and retighten the setscrews (see Fig. 15).
21. Slide the autolock end stoppers on the mobile track to a distance of 25 mm (1 in) from
each of the XY trolleys (see Fig. 16).
22. Tighten the setscrews on the end stoppers using a 6 mm Allen key (see Fig. 17).

Assembling Instructions
Inserting the Track Lift into the Mobile Track
Once the XY mobile track has been properly mounted and secured:
23. Position the first end stopper at the edge of the mobile track. Secure the end stopper
according to the following procedure (see Fig. 18).
• Attach the U-clip connected to the end stopper to the track.
• Insert the end stopper into the track and test the end stopper by trying to push it back out
of the track. The stopper should not be able to move.
• Firmly tighten the setscrews using a 6 mm Allen key. The end stopper is now installed.
• Slide the lift or portable trolley into the mobile track (see Fig. 19).
24. Insert the second stopper into the mobile track. Secure the end stopper according to the
same procedure listed above.
Fig. 18
25. Install the plastic end cap at each end of the mobile track (see Fig. 20).
