Senator1Msystemis inspectedfor scratches,bumps or abrasions
during packing, and iswarranted to befree £romdefects.
1.Aashboard
Theflashboardisbandedinto aheavycardboardenclosure.
with foaminsertsateachendandin themiddle.Thiscartonis
markedwith variouswarninglabelsandstampings.Laythe
cartonflat,observingthattheoutsideoverlappingcoverof
theflashboardisonthetopside. .
Beforeopening, closelyinspectthe carton for evidenceof
shipping damagesuchaspuncture holes,tears,and crushed
edgesor corners.Damageto the carton may alert you to
damageto the flashboard. H damageis detectedrefer to the
DamageAction Processsection(p.3) for procedures.
Usescissorsto cut all straps.Carefully lift off the carton top.
Cut the tape on the four cornersof the cartonbottom and lay
thecarton flaps down fIat. Slideboth endsand the top center
foam piecesoff to allow accessto theflashboard.To prevent
scratches,make surethe flashboard remainson cardboard
prior to actual installation: Obtain assistancein setting the
f1ashboardupright.
Donotdestroyor discardcartonmaterialsuntil afterfinal
inspectionandtesting.
Inspectthe flashboard to llsUJ'ethat all acrylic panelsarein

At this point you should inspectthe consolefor shipping
damage.All acrylic panelsshould bein place.Metal panels
and their associatedswitchesand parts should beoperational.

contactyour distributor for advice and refer to the Damage
Action Processsection(p.3)for procedures.

switcheson.Usethe other controls asneeded.
8. Flashboard Installation
1. Data connectionsfor the Bingo flashboards aremadewith the
consoledata cableoutput connectors,located on the SenatorTM
InputlOutput panel, in the left hand compartment of the console.
Permanentinstallations usethe 3"x 1"accesshole under the1/0
panel to run the cables.Temporary installation utilize the gap
betweenthe bottom of theleft-hand consoledoor and the bottom
of theconsoleto run the cables.

2. Install the £lashboarddata cable.When possible,we recommend
using aone-piececableavoiding splices,adapters and other
mating devices.Wiring to the flashboard may bepermanently
installed using a wire mold. Where apermanent installation is
not possible,install the flashboard data cablethrough the walls
and/ or ceiling to where the consolecanberolled in and easily
connectedwith all data and power cables.Avoid running the
flashboard cablenext to high-current lines suchassmokeeaters,
air conditioners, etc.
For metal fabricated style £lashboards,plug the 3-pin male data
connectorinto the lower connectorlabeled "JNPUT...For alumi-

thedatacableintotheSenatorTMinput/output panelandthenthe

You may have an installation that requires hook tIP ()fmore than
one£1a.shboard.In suchan instance,the secondand subsequent
flashboards may bedaisy chainedby connecting the datacableto
the "OUTPUT' connection on the first flashboard to the "INPUT"
connection on the second£lashboard,and soon.This allows
virtually an unlimited number of Capitol Bingo £lashboardsto be
added.A 3-pin Jones-styleto a 6-pin telephone-styledata cable
adapter is supplied with the aluminum extruded flashboardsfor
when daisy chaining aluminum extruded flashboardswith
metal fabricated flashboards.Werecommend utilizing two
consoledata outputs if using threeor more flashboards.

Beforeattemptingto mountanyflashboardto thewall,youmustfirst
determinethetypeofwall construction.Forhollowwalls,werecom-
mendthattheflashboardmountingbracketsbefasteneddirectlyinto
wall studs.Forconcrete,brickandcinder-blockconstruction,the
mountingbracketsshouldbefastenedusinga'boltandanchor
method(molybolt).If othermethodsofwall constructionareused,
considerceilingmountingorconsulttheCapitolBingoEquipment
Servicedepartmentforadvice.Placeflashboardstooffermaximum
playervisibility with minimaleffort.
Before drilling anyholes, check for possible electrical or
plumbing interference behind the mounting holes and
make sure that the £lashboard is level from side to side.
Caution:Before attemptingany
installation,have8qualified,
licensedandbondedrigger and
electrician verify the typeof
installation.In manycases,the
local building inspector may
requireapermit aswellas an
inspectionof the sitefor struc-
tural stability.

directly into wall studs. For masonry. construction, use a 3/8" or larger
lag-screw expansion shield with suitable~length lag screw.

To begin abingo session,turn on the consolepower switch, the
blower lamp switch, mixer motor switch, and blower,motor switch
on the SenatorTMconsole.You will notice that theballs immediately
goup theball tube and held in theball catcheravailable for play~
Next, turn on the power switches to any additional flashboards
connectedto your console.Start calling balls at anice steadypa,ceand
placethemintothecorrespondingballtrayslot. '
Thetimer will evenlypaceyourballcalling,adjustthepaceofthe
gameand build player confidenceto play additional bingo faces,thus
increasingrevenues.Until you find a time that's most comfortable for
you and your players, a good calling time might beevery 14to 20
seconds.When the beepersounds,it is time to call the next balL
At this time, verify aUthebingos that havebeencalled. It is usually
bestif thefloor worker callsout the serialnumber of thebingo paper
to verify ~ from your hall. Thenhavethe floor worker call out
eachnumber in the bingo pattern from thebingo carowith caller
confumingeachcall.

Cleaning Your SenatorTM Bingo System
Periodic servicing of your SenatorTMBingo System should include

Changing Ftashboard Light Bulbs
Gently push light bi.11bin ~hile tumirig. c~unter'cl~ckwise.
Socketisspringloadedandonlyrequires.a1/4 turn to
releasethe light bulb from the socket.
Removethe light bulb from the socket.

4. Changing Fuses. . .
When changing fusesin a.fuseblock the folloWing steps
should be followed:
Determine which fuseis defectiveby referring to thefuse
block diagram (pp.4041) or with the useof avoltmeter.
Gain accessto the fuseblock by removing thesix
Phillips screwsfrom thefront of the power pack panel
and remove the panel.. . . .
Removethefusewith afusepuller or with asmall flat
blade.screwdriver by carefully prying oneend of thefuse
up, grasping the endand removing the fuse.
Replacethebad fusewith aproperly rated fuse.Referto
thefuse illustration (pp.40-41).

Plug the unit into a 120volt grounded wall outlet.

Unplug the consolepower cord from the wall outlet.
Unlock and openthe right-hand-side blower compartment door.
Removeany balls that may be on theblower basepan assembly.
Disconnectthepower plug locatedbelow theblower base
pan and pull the assemblyout of the console.
Lay theremoved blower basepan assemblyupside down
on aflat surface,remove the four Phillips screws(two
from eachside) from theprotective guard, and lay the
protectiveguardonitsside. . .
Put afew drops of 20Woil into the two oiling ports
locatedon the top side at eachend of the blower motor.

Oil the mixer motor by removing the two 1/4"bolts from the rear
plate of themixer motor. Oil thefelt pad with 20W oil, replace
plate and reinsert theboi~s,being careful not to overtighten them.
Checkthe blower motor squiITelcagebladesfor debris. If
dirty, loosenthecagefrom theshaftwith ant /s"Allen
wrench and remove from the shaft. Qean the bladeswith a small
stiff brosh, using soapand water, towel diy. Reinstall the
squirrel cageand check that thebladesarefreewheeling
andnotbinding. .
Reassembleand carefully slide thebasepan back into
the consolewith the mixer arm pointing towards the
front of theconsole.
Inspecttheair filter and replaceif necessary.

Beforereferring to the troubleshooting table,pleasecheckto seethat
the following conditions aremet:
1. Checkthat all power and data connectionsto the system
are properly installed. Look for looseCOnnectorsor
broken wires. Do not attempt to service.thecontrol panel
in the SenatorTMconsole.Only trained sel-vicepersonnel
arequalified to work in this area.
2. If flashboard difficulties arise,checkthe power and data
cableconnectionsto the ~hboard If the power is being
supplied to thefJashboards,the vertical BINGO lamps
should be on.If theselampsarenot on, checktheprimary
power to the flashboards.
