A. POWER INDICATOR: Lights when power is switched on.
B. CLIP: Lights when pre-amp is overloading. Please turn down gain or input signal.
C. BOOST: Use this control to boost the low frequency of the amplifier. Push down to engage.
D. BRIGHT:
Use this control to brighten the high frequency of the amplifier. Push down to engage.
E. INPUT: ¼” jack for instrument input.
F. GAIN: This control adjusts the amount of gain in your output sound.
G. LOW: This control adjusts the level of low frequency in your sound by 12dB +/-.
H. HIGH: This control adjusts the level of high frequency in your sound by 12dB +/-.
I. 6-BAND EQ: Control individual EQ levels by sliding each corresponding level up or down to +/-
12dB. See J for how to engage EQ system.
J. EQ SWITCH: Push switch down to engage the EQ system, the light will illuminate.
K/L. COLOUR CONTROL: Switch (K) to engage colour control, the light will illuminate. Then
to adjust the amount of colour in your output sound, turn the corresponding knob (L).
M/N. CONTOUR CONTROL: Switch (M) to engage contour control, the light will illuminate.
Then to adjust the amount of contour in your output sound, turn the corresponding knob (N).

A. POWER INPUT: This supplies the amp with AC power. The supplied cable fits into this
socket and plugs into an AC wall power outlet.
B. PHONES: ¼” jack for headphones output.
C. LINE OUT: ¼” jack for line out to external device.
D. RCA/AUX IN: RCA input for connection of external devices such as CD players and MP3
players. You will need to control the level of these devices externally.

O. MUTE: Press to mute all output sound. The light will illuminate to indicate mute is on.
P. MASTER: Turn to adjust master sound level. Always turn to left when turning amplifier
off to avoid blowing your amplifier when turning on again. When adjusting, monitor the
clip indicator (B) to avoid buzz in your sound.

If you are experiencing problems with your Ashton amplifier, please follow these
instructions before contacting a service technician:
1. Check that the power cord is plugged into a power outlet.
2. Check that the power is turned on at the outlet. If you are at a gig, make sure the
stage power has been turned on.
3. Check that the control knobs have been sufficiently turned up.
4. Check that the instrument is correctly plugged into the amplifier, both at the
instrument nand at the amplifier input.
5. Check the instrument lead - faulty leads are one of the most common causes of
problems. Always carry a spare working lead for this purpose.
6. Check that the volume is turned up on the instrument.
7. If the instrument has active pickups, make sure the battery is not dead.
If your amplifier still does not function, contact your local Ashton dealer, or an authorized
service agent.
