2. (MFD) Terrain Coloring
Software Version 2.4.1 changes the terrain coloring parameters presented on the Terrain Overlay and the
terrain safety threshold.
A. or Ground Mode and Landing Mode, terrain that is greater than or equal to 100 feet above the
aircraft is shown in red while the terrain less than 100 feet above the aircraft is shown in topographic
terrain. This ensures that the nearby ground is not shown in red, while preserving the pilot
awareness of higher terrain in the airport environment.

B. or Departure Mode, terrain that is greater than or equal to 100 feet above the runway elevation is
shown in red or yellow while the terrain less than 100 feet is shown in topographic terrain. When the
aircraft is 700 feet above the runway, terrain coloring gradually transitions to the Enroute Mode.
