Pilot Guide Addendum,
PFD/MFD Evolution Software Version 2.4.1 pgrade
This addendum is applicable to the following Primary light Display Pilot Guides:
•E D1000 P D Pilot’s Guide
•E D 1000 PRO P D Pilot’s Guide
•E D1000/500 M D Pilot’s Guide
Evolution Software Version 2.4.1 incorporates several new features that enhance the functionality and operation
of your Evolution light Display System. This Pilot Guide Addendum describes these new features and
enhancements.
1. (MFD) Obstruction Symbols
A. Software Version 2.4.1 adds the Blue Obstruction symbols and changes the previous 200 foot safety
threshold to 100 feet.
B. All obstructions that are 200 feet AGL and higher
are presented on the Nav Map VIEW and on the
Terrain VIEW.
1. The blue towers represent obstacles that are
between 500 feet and 2500 feet below the
aircraft.
2. The amber towers represent obstacles that
are between 100 feet and 500 feet below the
aircraft.
3. Red towers represent obstacles that are
above the aircraft altitude or within 100 feet
below the aircraft.

2. (MFD) Terrain Coloring
Software Version 2.4.1 changes the terrain coloring parameters presented on the Terrain Overlay and the
terrain safety threshold.
A. or Ground Mode and Landing Mode, terrain that is greater than or equal to 100 feet above the
aircraft is shown in red while the terrain less than 100 feet above the aircraft is shown in topographic
terrain. This ensures that the nearby ground is not shown in red, while preserving the pilot
awareness of higher terrain in the airport environment.

B. or Departure Mode, terrain that is greater than or equal to 100 feet above the runway elevation is
shown in red or yellow while the terrain less than 100 feet is shown in topographic terrain. When the
aircraft is 700 feet above the runway, terrain coloring gradually transitions to the Enroute Mode.
C. The terrain coloring for the Enroute Mode is depicted below:

D. When operating around the airport environment (within 2nm and less than 1900 feet above the
runway elevation) terrain that is less than 100 feet above the runway elevation is rendered Black on the
Dedicated Terrain VIEW and Topographic Terrain on the Terrain Overlay.

3. (MFD) Data Bar
With Software Version 2.4.1, TRK and ETE
on the second line of the Data Bar have
exchanged their positions. TRK is located
on the left and ETE is in the center.
4. (MFD/PFD) Hot Key Color Legend
Software Version 2.4.1 modifies the Hot Key label color display as follows:

Gray Letters with Blue Background
eature is configured but unavailable for selection
Green Letters with Blue Background
eature is not selected (disabled)
Blue Letters with Green Background
eature is selected (enabled)
Blue Background - No feature is available

5. (PFD) Basemap Symbol Declutter Settings
A. Software Version 2.4.1 removes the ‘ON” setting from the following Basemap features:
•light Plan
•Airports
•VOR and
•Intersections/NDB
B. Available settings for the Basemap features are “AUTO” and “O ”
