INSTALLATION MANUAL
ODB/OSB (Non-Metallic)
INTRODUCTION
Amwaj Telecommunication Mfg. Co offers Optical
Distribution Box /Optical Splitter Box, a high quality
Polycarbonate which is used in FTTH/FTTB/FTTP and other
types of Fiber network design.
The offered ODB’s /OSB’s are ideal for building entrance
terminals, telecommunication closets, computer rooms &
other controlled environments. It is designed for either pre-
connectorized cables or field splicing of Pigtails.

INSTALALTION: ODB-48 (WITHOUT SPLITTER)

Install the adapter and pigtails
from side A. Route extra fibers
in the storage area and further
route in the splice tray to be
spliced with feeder cable fibers.

For Feeder cable, use 1 or 2 port and
for Drop cable use 12 port rubber
grommet as and when required.

Cut the rubber grommet for feeder/
drop cable as per cable dia as shown

Insert drop cable seal ring from back
side of the grommet as shown
Insert the cable through the
rubber grommet
Use 1 or 2 port grommet for feeder
cable and 12 port for drop cables
Insert feeder cable seal ring from
back side of the grommet as shown

Select rubber grommet Options as
per cable requirement
Open the front cover with
provided key and mount the
box on the wall with screw and
fissure provided.

Insert the drop cable with the
Rubber slit insert pin and fix it with
the cable clamp.

Feeder cable entering from center port and Drop cables entering from left and right of the feeder cable.
Center port can accommodate Max 3 Feeder cables, whereas left and right ports can accommodate Max 48 drop
cables (24 cables each side) as shown

Route the Feeder Cables # 1 & 2 in splice tray 1 & 2 respectively. Each tray has 24 colored fibers with
Number Group #1 (1F to 12F) and Number Group # 2 (13F to 24F ) .
Fix the Protection Tube (#1/2/3/4)
with the metal clip by cable ties and
insert the fibers of 6 drop cables
inside each tube . Total protection
tube : 8 ( 8x 6= 48F)
6 drop cables are cable tied as group and fibers from each
group are inserted inside one protection tube as shown.
6 group x 4 Protection tubes = 24F Side A
6 group x 4 Protection tubes = 24F Side B

Fix and cable tie all the 8 protection tubes carrying 48 cable fibers. 2 tubes from side A (#1 & 2) and 2 tubes
from side B (#5 &6) enter in splice tray 1 as shown. Similarly 2 tubes from side A (# 3 & 4) and 2 tubes from Side
B (# 7 & 8) enter splice tray # 2. Route the fibers entering the splice tray up to splice point as shown.
NOTE : Protection tube from side A enters splice tray from the far end as shown

After splicing, close the splice tray and lock the front
cover properly with the main and side lock.

Install the splitter in its position as shown and
route the extra length of input / output
splitter pigtails through fiber storage
management as shown.
Splitter Input and Output Pigtails is finally routed and
connected to adapters from side B as shown.

Schematic picture showing Splitter pigtails (I/P & O/P ) and
colored pigtail management and routing .
Install the colored pigtails from Side A and
route the extra length through fiber storage
management. Pigtails are finally protected by
spiral tube and routed up to the splice tray as
shown .

Adapters on Side A has All the splitter pigtails
(I/P & O/P), and on Side B has colored pigtails
going out up to the splice tray as shown.
Colored Pigtails from side A are protected by spiral tube
and routed up to the splice tray at the bottom as
shown.
After splicing, close the splice tray
and lock the front cover properly with
the main and side lock .
