APPLICATIONS
Install attractive UL Listed UHT and UKT Series ceiling loudspeaker/baffle/transformer pack-
ages for dependable voice and alarm transmission in emergency audio evacuation systems.
Cone loudspeaker assemblies deliver superior intelligibility for application in multi-occupancy
and expanded space areas including high-rise residences, public buildings, health care and
educational facilities, offices, banks, shopping areas, motels/hotels, distribution centers, and
transportation terminals. Applied properly, single and dual voice coil models meet life safety
code requirements per N.F.P.A. Standard 72 for supervised loudspeakers in fire-protective sig-
naling and communication systems.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Atlas Sound’s UHT and UKT Series are 8" diameter single and dual voice coil loudspeakers
equipped with dual (whizzer) cone and 10 oz. ceramic magnet to deliver extended frequency
response with high intelligibility and minimal distortion. Cost-effective units are complete with
fire-retardant moisture-proof cones, factory-mounted transformer, 6" color-coded leads, and a
wide selection of architecturally pleasing baffles. UHT Series loudspeakers have a 1" dia. voice
coil, choice of 70.7 or 25-volt transformer, and DC blocking capacitor for line supervision appli-
cations. UKT Series loudspeakers are equipped with two 1" dia. voice coils, two transformers
(specify 70.7 or 25 volts), and a DC blocking capacitor. To comply with UL requirements, loud-
speaker packages must be used with UL-approved enclosures (refer to back page for baffle/
enclosure information and to SL6-1424 “Enclosures for UL Listed Loudspeakers”).

UL Listed 8" diameter fire-protective signaling loudspeaker shall be

UHT Series loudspeaker shall consist of a molded fire-retardant/mois-
ture-proof cone, whizzer cone, and 10 oz. ceramic magnet. It shall
have a single 1" diameter voice coil and shall be equipped with a
(70.7 or 25V) transformer, and a DC blocking capacitor for line super-
vision applications. Dual voice coil Series UKT shall provide for line
supervision with dual 1" dia. voice coils, two transformers, and a DC
blocking capacitor. Loudspeaker shall be pre-assembled to Atlas
Sound, baffle Model __________. Loudspeaker/baffle assembly shall
mount to Atlas Sound UL approved companion enclosure Model
__________.
