PARTS CHECKLIST
This package contains: one handset, one base unit,
one coiled handset cord, one straight cord, one
modular telephone plug and a user manual.
PRECAUTIONS AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•Please read the user manual before using this
appliance and keep the manual in a safe place.
•Never open the appliance.
•Ensure that the appliance is not exposed directly
to sunlight or other heat sources.
•To avoid damaging vocal quality, do not expose
the telephone to electromagnetic fields.
•Protect the appliance from damp, dust, vapour
and caustic substances.
•To avoid risk of electrocution, keep your
telephone away from water.

•Clean the appliance with an anti-static cloth.
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION
•Natural resources were used and consumed for
the manufacture of the appliance that you have
just purchased. It may therefore contain
substances that are dangerous to health and the
environment.
•To prevent further distribution of these
substances and to limit the use of natural
resources, you are encouraged to use the
appropriate recycling systems. With the help of
these systems, most of the components of your
old appliance will be reused or recycled.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect the base unit and
handset using the coiled
handset cord.
2. Connect the telephone to the
wall socket using the straight
cord.
3. If you want to mount the telephone on
a wall, screw two screws into the wall
(100mm apart) so that you can hang
the telephone.
4. Set the flash time switch to the correct position
(100/300ms). Contact your local telephone
company for associated guidelines.
FUNCTIONS
Receiving a call
Pick up the handset to receive a call. Replace the
handset once the call is finished.
Making a call
Pick up the handset to get the dial tone, then dial
the number. Replace the handset once the call is
finished.
Pause
If the telephone is installed behind a PABX it may be
necessary to insert a pause between the line access
code (0 or 9) and the number you want to dial.
When the PAUSE button is pressed the appliance
holds the line for a few seconds.
Flash
The FLASH button is used to get a new dial tone or
to activate customer services.

Redial
Pick up the handset to get the dial tone. Press the
REDIAL button to redial the last number dialled.
Volume control
The volume level of the handset can be adjusted
from !(high) to !(low) by moving the slide switch
on the handset.
Mute
Press the MUTE button and hold it down during the
conversation to switch off the microphone so that
the other person cannot hear what is being said.
TROUBLESHOOTING
“I am finding it difficult or impossible to hear
the other person’s voice during a call”
•Check the handset and cord connections.
•Set the volume switch to the highest position.
•Check whether there are other appliances
connected to the same line and remove them.
“The telephone is installed behind a PABX, and
I am unable to put calls through”
•Check whether the flash time switch has been set
to the correct position.
•Check the cord and PABX, and remove any other
appliances that are connected to the same line.
“There is no ring tone or dial tone”
•Switch the telephone off, remove all cords and re-
install the telephone as described in this user
manual.
•Check whether there are other appliances
connected to the same line and remove them.
•Check whether the phone line is working properly.

WARRANTY
The product you have bought is covered by a parts
and labour warranty against any material defect or
manufacturing fault for a period of one year, barring
provisions to the contrary. The warranty comes into
effect on the date of purchase of the appliance.
