PRE-INST ALLA TION NOTES:
AUTO LOCK I UNLOCK: DIP SWITCH #1
The system is shippedwith this feature activated.
Any time the ignition key is turned to the off position, the doorswill automatically unlock. Any time the ignition key is turned to the
on position, the doors will automatically lock.
To disable the auto lock I unlock feature, move dip switch number 1to the "off' position.
pASSIVE I ACTIVE DOOR LOCK SELECTION: DIP SWITCH #2
This feature will only affect the operation of the systemif the passiveanning feature is selected.
When active door lock is selected,the doors will only lock when thetransmitter button is pressed.When the alann is allowed to ann
passively, at the endof the 30 secondanning cycle, the doors will not automatically lock. The system is shipped in the active door
lock mode, therefore, no modifications are required for this feature.
When passivedoor lock is selected,andthe alann is allowed to ann passively, at theendof the30 secondarming cycle, the doorswill
automatically lock. To program this feature, move dip switch number 2 to the on position.
PASSIVE I ACTIVE ARMING SELECTION: DIP SWITCH #3
This alann can be programmed to operate aseither a "PASSIVE" or" ACTIVE" anning security system.
As a"Passive" aiann, thesystemwill automatically ann itself approximately 30 secondsafter the ignition key is turned off, onedoor
is opened,then all vehicle doorsare closed, (anning is suspendeduntil the last door is closed). This featureprotects the vehicle in
the event you forget to ann the systemusing the keychain transmitter. When the optional door lock interface is installed, the doors
will operate according to the position of dip switch number 2.
This systemis shippedin thepassivemode, therefore no modifications arerequired to make thesystl:m operateasa"Passive" alann.
As an "Active" alann, the systemcan only be anned using the keychain transmitter. There will be no backup automatic arming.
To make the systemoperateasan ..Active" alann, move dip switch number 3 to the off position.
VOLTAGE SENSE I HARDWIRE SELECTION: DIP SWITCH #4
This alarm can be wired to operateasa Voltage Sensing or a Hardwire system.
As avoltage sensingsystem,the alarm will trigger any time an entry point that illuminates aCOW1eSylight is opened. The systemis
shipped in the voltage sensingmode, therefore, no modifications arerequired to make this system avoltage sensing alarm.
As ahardwire system,thealarm will trigger anytime adoor,hood,trunk, etc.isopened,by wiring directly to theswitches. This means
that if the coW1esylight isburnedout, or the coW1esylight fuseisblown, the alarm will continue to protect all points of entry.To make
this system operateasa hardwire alarm, move dip switch number 4 to the off position.
NOTE: When "Passive Arming" and "Voltage Sensing" areselected,you must hardwire the driver's door pin switch or passive
arming will never be initiated.

CHANNEL 2 OUTPUT:
This systemprovides an on board 10A relay to activate the factory installed trunk release solenoid.
CHANNEL 3 OUTPUT:
This system provides an additional hardwire remote output to control an assortmentof optional upgrades.
This output is an independent channel from the transmitter, and is controlled by pressing both buttons on the transmitter
simultaneously. It is alow current ground pulse (300 mA maximum), andthe duration or length of the pulse varies (this output will
provide a ground signal for as long as both buttons are held), making it a versatile feature. This output can be used to control;
.optional remote starter AS 9151
.optional window roll up AS 9153
REMOTE ENTRY ILLUMINATION:
This system provides an on board relay that will illuminate the dome light for 30 secondswhenever the system is disarmed.
This circuit will also flash the interior dome light when the alarm is triggered.

2-STEP UNLOCK:
This systemuseson board door lock relays, and will allow for the 2-step unlock feature.
The2-stepunlock featurewill work with most fully electronic doorlock circuits. The vehicle must haveanelectronic door lock switch
(not the lock knob or key switch), which locks and unlocks all of the vehicle's doors.
When wired for this feature,pressingthe disarm button onthe transmitter onetime will disarm thealarm andunlock only the driver's
door.
If, asyou approach the vehicle; the transmitter button is pressedtwo times within 3 seconds,the alarm will disann and all doors will
unlock.
FUTURE REFERENCE CHART:
As an added convenience to the professional security installer, a chart has been printed in this guide for recording wire colors,
component mounting locations, and any other useful tips particular to the vehicle you are working on. Taking a few extra moments
on eachinstallation to fill in the chart, can saveyou valuable time in the future.
TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING:
The transmitters included in this kit havebeen programed at the factory for the Channel I (arm, disann, and panic function) only.
Anyadditional functions of the system(receiver Channels2 and3) must beprogramed at the time of installation. These functions can
be assignedto transmitter button number 2, or a simultaneous pressof both buttons I and 2.
Refer to thetransmitter prograrnIning guide, included in this package,for more details regarding transmitter button assignmentsand
system functions. .
INSTALLA TION OF MAJOR COMPONENTS:
CONTROL MODULE:
Selecta mounting location inside the passengercompartment (up behind the dash),and secureusing two screws provided.
The control module can also be secured in place using cable ties.
Do not mount the control module in theenginecompartment, asit isnot waterproof. You should alsoavoid mounting theunit directly
ontofactory installed electronic components. ThesecomponentsmaycauseRFinterference, which canresult in poor transmitter range
or intermittent operation.
SIREN:
Selectamounting location in theengine compartment that is well protected from accessbelow the vehicle. Avoid areasnear high heat
componentsor moving parts within the engine compartment To prevent water retention, the flared end of the siren must be pointed
downward when mounted.
Mount the sire,nto the selectedlocation using the screwsandbracket provided.

DARK GREEN WIRE: (-) INSTANT TRIGGER ZONE 2
This is an instant on ground trigger wire. It must be connectedto the previously installed hood and trunk pin switches.
LIGHT GREEN WIRE: (-) INSTANT TRIGGER ZONE I

This is aninstant on ground trigger wire: This wire (zone) shouldbereservedfor connection to optional ground output trigger device£
suchasmotion and/or shock impact sensors.
PURPLE WIRE: + DOOR TRIGGER
If the vehicle's door courtesy light switches havea + 12volt output when the door is opened( most Fords and someImports ),
you must connect this wire to the positive output from one of the door switches. In most cases,the pwple wire will only needto
be connected to one door switch, no matter how many doors the vehicle has.
WARNING: Do not use the purple wire If the vehicle has ground output type door switches. (seeBROWN WIRE)
BROWN WIRE: -DOOR TRIGGER
this wire to the negative output from one of the door switches.
WARNING: Do not use the brown wire If the vehicle has + 12 Volt output type door switches. (seePURPLE WIRE)
2 DARK GREEN wl WHITE TRACE WIRES: ENTRY ILLUMINATION
The dark greenwl white tracewires provide the entry lighting, and flash the vehicles dome light while the alarm is sounding.
These are the NO (normally open) and COMMON contactsof an on board, 10A maximum, relay.
Connect one of the dark green wl white trace wires to the switched output of one of the door pin switches.
Connect the other dark greenwl white tracewire to either chassisground (GM andmost imports) or afused + 12volt battery source
(most Fords), depending upon the polarity of the dome light circuit in the vehicle.
NOTE: When wiring this feature In vehicles with factory equipped delay lighting circuits, it is best to connect to the output
of the timer which feeds the dome light, rather than at the door switch. This wIll ensure that the dome light pulses when the
alarm is triggered.
DARK GREEN wl BLACK TRACE WIRE: LATCHING OUTPUT I CHANNEL 3
The greenwl black tracewire latchesto ground via anindependentRF channel from thekeychain transmitter. This is atransistorized,
low current (300 mA.) output, and should only be usedto drive an external relay coil.
This wire provides an immediate ground signal, and staysat ground for as long asthe buttons on the keychain transmitter remain
pressed
WARNING! Connecting the dark green wl black trace wire to the high current switched output of trunk release circuits, some
remote starter trigger Inputs, and some window roll up trigger Inputs, wIll damage the contr~1 module.
Connect the dark green wl black tracer wire to terminal 86 of the AS 9256 relay (or an equivalent 30 A automotive relay), andwire
the remaining relay contacts to perform the selectedfunction of channel 3.
WHITE wl BLACK TRACE WIRE: POSITIVE OUTPill TO SIREN
Route this wire through a rubber grommet in the firewall, and to the siren location.
Connect the white/black wire to thepositive wire of the siren. Securethe black ground wire of the siren to chassisground
ORANGE WIRE: 300 mA GROUND OUTPUT WHEN ARMED
This wire isprovided to control thestartercut relay. Connecttheorangewire to terrninal86 of therelay, andwire theremaining relay
contacts asshown in the wiring diagram.
IMPORT ANT: Audiovox does not recommend using this relay to interrupt the ignition wire. Only connect this relay to the
low current starter solenoid feed wire, as indicated on the wiring diagram.
WHITE WIRE: + 12 VDC PULSED PARKING LIGHT OUTPUT ( 15 A MAX
This wire is provided to flash the vehicle's parking lights.
Connect the white wire to the positive side of one of the vehicle's parking lights.

6 PIN DOOR LOCK OUTPUT CONNECTOR: 2-STEP OPERATION
When wiring for 2-step unlock operation, you must connect the outputs of the on-board unlock relay to the driver's side door lock
motor. Wire theseoutputs asfollows;
Orange = N.O. Relay Contact to +12 VDC Battery
Dark Blue = N.C. Relay Contact to Motor leg switch side
White = Common Relay Contact to Motor leg motor side
Wire the transistorized negative "all doors unlock" output directly to the negative unlock wire from the door lock switch in vehicles
with 3 wire ground switched circuits.
In vehicles with 3 wire positive or 5wire alternating switched circuits, you must adda 30 Amp automotive relay to provide the "all
doors unlock" feature.
RED w/BLACK & GREEN w/BLACK 2 PIN RED CONNECTOR: 2-STEP UNLOCK CONNECTOR
The Green w/Black tracer wire provides a 300 mA ground pulse output for the all doors unlock signal, and can be connected to the
negative door unlock wire in 3 wire negative switched vehicles.
The Red w/Black tracer wire provides a + !2 VDC source for those applications that require a relay for the all doors unlock feature.
COMPLETING THE INST ALLA TION :
Avoid wrapping this wire aro\Uldmajor, high current wire looms.
WIRE DRESSING: Always wrap the alann wires in convoluted tubing, or with a spiral wrap of electrical tape. Securetheselooms
along the routing using cable ties.
This will ensurethat the alann wires arenot damagedby falling onto hot or sharpmoving surfaces in the vehicle.
