will help to ensure that your vehicle is protected at all times.
NOTE: This system can be installed as a remote start upgrade operating
without any alarm functions. If this is the case with your vehicle's
installation, there will be no audible alert when the vehicle door,
hood, or trunk is opened while locked from the transmitter.
Also,the system has the ability to beep the vehicle's horn, sound
a siren, or both. Where a beep or chirp is mentioned, consider
either or both may sound.

NOTE: Yoursystemhastheoptionof usinga siren,the vehiclehorn, orboth
for the sounding device. Where the siren is referenced below, the
horn or both may in fact chirp, or beep.
ARMING THE SYSTEM - ACTIVE
1. Turn the ignition key off, exit the vehicle and close all doors.
2. Press and release the Lock button on the keychain transmitter.
3. Thesirenand orhornwill beeponetime, theparkinglamps willflashone
time,andtheDashMounted,LEDortheoptionalLEDfoundontheglass
mountedwindsheild receiverwillbegin toslowlyflash,indicatingthat the
system is ARMED.
Ifthesiren/hornsounds3chirps,thenyouhaveleftadoor,trunk,orhood
lidajar.Simplyclosetheopenedentrypointtoprovidefullprotection.Ifthe
siren"chirped"threetimes,sometimeafterarming,theexclusivedelayed
domelightlearncircuithasbeenprogrammedandthesystemdetecteda
openentrypointafterthelearneddelayexpired.Again,closingthehood,
trunk,ordoorswillcorrecttheproblemandyoudonotneedtodisarmthe
systemtomakethecorrection.Ifthesiren/horndidnotsoundwhenarming,
thenthe chirpshave beenturned off,and youshould referto thesection
titled“ ELIMINATINGTHE ARM/ DISARMCHIRPS “in thismanual.
4. Any time the door lock switch in the vehicle is used to lock the doors
while the ignition key is turned off, the system will immediately arm.
Tolockthedoorsafterentering thevehicle,make surethe ignitionkeyis
switchedonfirst.Turningtheignitionkeyonfirstwillstopthesystemfrom
arming.

ARMINGTHE SYSTEM-PASSIVE(AUTOMATIC)
(Mustbe activatedduringprogramming)
1. Turn the ignition key off, exit the vehicle, and close all doors.
2. TheDashMounted,LEDortheoptionalLEDfoundontheglassmounted
receiver will begin to flash rapidly, indicating that the system is
automatically(passively) arming.Asan addedconvenience, the30
second automaticpassive armingwill notbegin untilall doorsare closed,
allowingpassengersto exitthevehicleattheirconvenience.
3. In 30 seconds, you will hear a single short chip from the siren and the
vehicle’sparkinglampswillflashonetime,indicatingthat thesystemhas
ARMED.Atthistime,thedashmountedPRLEDortheoptionalLEDfound
onthewindsheildmountedreceiverwillbegintoflashslowly,providinga
visual indication that the system is fully armed.
4. It is possible to program the system, that when the alarm is allowed to
automatically passivearm,therewillbea15seconddelayafteradooris
openedbeforethealarmwillsound.However,ifthesystemisprogrammed
for instant trigger there will be no delay. Check with your installer for the
setting of this feature.
IMPORTANT! Whenthesystemisprogrammedforpassivearming,the
systemwill always arm, even when the keychain transmitter has not
been used to lock the doors.
When you leave the vehicle, and a door has been left opened, the
system will arm after 10 minutes. If you plan to vacuum the car, or if
serviceworkisbeingperformed,eitherleavethekeyintheignitionand
switchedtotheon position,orputthesystemintovaletmode.Ifyoudo
notdothis,thesystemwillarmin10minutes,andyoumayinadvertently
trip the alarm.
PROTECTIONWHILE THESYSTEM ISARMED
1. Opening any door, hood, or trunk will cause the alarm to immediately
sound. The alarm will continue to sound for 30 seconds, then stop and
automaticallyrearmthevehicle.Ifthepotentialthiefleftadooropened,the
alarmwillsoundforthreemore30secondcycles,thenre-armandignore
theopeneddoorzone.

2. Wheneverthesystemisarmed,theDashMountPRLED,ortheoptional
onwindsheildmountreceiver'sLEDindicatorwillslowlyflash.Thisserves
as a visual deterrent to the potential thief. The LED is a very low current
bulb,andwillnotcausethevehicle’sbatterytodrain,evenwhenthevehicle
isleftunattendedforextendedperiods.
3. Wheneverthesystemistriggered,thevehicle’sparkinglightswillflashfor
the30secondalarmcycle,attractingaddedvisualattentiontothevehicle.
4. Wheneverthesystemisarmed,thevehicle’sstarterwillbedisabled.The
vehicle will not start.
DISARMINGTHESYSTEM:(OnlyIfAlarmFeaturesAreSelectedOn)
1. Asyouapproachthevehicle,pressandreleasetheunlockbuttononthe
keychaintransmitter.
2. Thesirenandorhornwillbeeptwotimes,theparkinglampswillflashtwo
times,and the PRLED, or optional onglass receiver'sLED will turn off,
indicating that the system is DISARMED.
NOTE: Ifyoursystemhasbeenprogrammedfor"passivearming",then
it will begin to re-arm immediately after disarming. This is
indicated by a rapid flashing of the dash mounted PRLED, ot
the optional on glass receiver's LED. Opening one of the
vehicle’s doors will suspend the passive arming process until
all doors have been closed, or until the ignition key has been
turned on.
INTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNALS:(OnlyIfAlarmFeaturesAreSelectedOn)
Thesystemwillinformyouifanintrusionattempthasoccurredwhileyouwere
awayfrom thevehicle.If anintrusionattempt hasoccurred,the sirenand or
hornwillbeepfourtimeswhenthesystemisdisarmed.Thevehicle’sparking
lights will also flash three times to indicate an intrusion has occurred.
EnterthevehicleandobservethedashmountedLEDortheoptionalonglass
receiver'sLEDforfurtherinformation.
1. If the LED is flashing one time, pause, one time, pause, etc., then an
intrusion attempt was made to a sensor connected to zone 1.

2. If the LED is flashing two times, pause, two times, pause, etc., then
anintrusion attempt was made to the hood or trunk, or to an optional
sensor connected to zone 2.
3. If the LED is flashing three times, pause, three times, pause, etc., then
anintrusionattemptwasmadethroughoneofthevehicle’sdoors.
Theseintrusionwarningindicatorsarestoredinthesystem’smemory,andwill
only be erased when the ignition key is turned to the on position.
OPERATINGTHEEMERGENCYPANIC:
Thebuttonsonyourkeychaintransmitterwillallowyoutoimmediatelyactivate
the alarm in emergency situations. To use the remote panic switch:
1. Press the unlock, then lock, then unlock buttons on your keychain
transmitterwithin3seconds.Thealarmwillimmediatelysound,andcontinue
to sound for 30 seconds.
2. Tostopthealarmbeforethe30secondcyclehasexpired,simplypress
andrelease the unlock button on your keychain transmitter.
NOTE: Ifthefactorysystemhasapanicmode,itissuggestedthatthefactory
panicfeature beused insteadof theupgrade systemto preventany
potentialproblemofturningoffthepanicmode.
USINGTHE VALET SWITCH:
The valet switch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, elimi-
nating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage
mechanics. When the system is in valet mode, all alarm functions are by-
passed,however theremotepanic featureand remotedoorlocks willremain
operational. To use the valet mode, the system must first be disarmed
either by using your keychain transmitter, or by overriding the system as
explainedin theManual OverrideSection ofthis manual.
TOENTERTHEVALETMODE:
1. Disarm the unit by use of the factory transmitter or by use of the manual
overridesequence.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the on position.

3. PressandholdthepushbuttonswitchfoundonthedashmountPRLED,
orontheoptionalglassmountedreceiverassemblyfor5seconds,untilthe
LEDturnson, indicatingvaletmode hasbeen successfullyentered.
TOEXITVALET:
With the ignition switch in the on position, press and release the same
pushbuttonswitch usedtoenter thevaletmode onetime. TheLEDturns off
indicating the valet mode has successfully been exited.
MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOUR SYSTEM:
USING SIMPLE VALET SWITCH MANUAL OVERRIDE
If your factory transmitter is lost, broken, or otherwise rendered inoperable
your Security System can be disarmed without the use of the keychain
transmitter.This isnecessary,since youwillneed theability tooperate your
vehicle if the transmitter is lost or its battery fails. If your system has been
selected for Valet Switch manual override as indicated on the last page of
this manual, to override the alarm system;
1.Openthe vehicledoor.The alarmwill sound.
2.Turn the ignition key to the on position.
3.Within 5 seconds, press and hold the valet pushbutton switch found the
dashmount PRLED,or ontheoptionalglassmounted receiver.
The alarm system will stop sounding and enter the (bypassed) mode.
Youcannow startand operate thevehicle normally.
Typically this override mode is used only if the transmitter has become
inoperative.
PROGRAMMINGYOURCUSTOMCODE OVERRIDE CODE:
Unlike override switches easily found, and defeated, this system allows
the consumer toprogram apersonaloverride code,offeringa higherlevelof
security. The system comes from the factory with a pre-programmed over-
ridecode of11.To changethis defaultoverride code,do thefollowing:

1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency
overridesequence. Turntheignition switchto theon position.
2. Within 10 seconds, press and release PRLED, or the optional
push-buttonswitchfoundontheglassmountedreceiverassembly3times.
3. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(The siren or horn will beep and the lights will flash one time.)
4. Within 10 seconds, begin to enter your chosen 10ths digit by
pressing and releasing thePRLED, orthe optionalpush-button
switch found on the glass mounted receiver assembly from 1 up to 9
times.
5. Within10secondsof thelastentered10thsdigit, turntheignitionswitchoff
thenon.
6. Within 10 seconds, begin to enter your chosen units digit by
pressing and releasing thePRLED, orthe optionalpush-button switch
found on the glass mounted receiver assembly from 1 up to 9 times.
7. Finish by turning the ignition switch to the off position.
If the new code was accepted, the unit will report back the newly entered
code,by flashing theLED, firstindicating the10ths digit,pause and thenthe
units digit. The unit will report the new code three times with a one second
pause between each code, then the system will begin arming. If the LED
flash pattern reports the previously stored code, the new code was not
entered correctly. Please repeat steps 1 through 7 above considering the
following.
NOTE: Acceptable digits 10ths or units are 1 through 9. The unit will not
recognizea 0(Zero),or nodigit enteredin anyplace, unitsor tenths.
NOTE: If 15 seconds of inactivity expire, or if the ignition switch is turned off
for more then 5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will
revert back to the last successfully stored code.
USINGCUSTOM CODE MANUALOVERRIDE:
If your factory transmitter is lost, broken, or otherwise rendered inoperable,

yoursystem canbeoverriddenallowingoperationof thevehicle.Themanual
overridecodeispre-programmedatthefactoryto11.Thiscodecanbechanged
by the operator to a more familiar two digit number. Once you’ve become
familiarwith thesystem’soperation andoverride procedure,wesuggest you
changethe codeforadded security.
NOTE: The override procedure below describesuse, assuming that the
factory preset code has not been changed and is still set to the
factorydefault11.The dash mount PRLED, or the optional on glass
receiver'sLEDvalet/overridepush button switch is used to enter
the tenths and units digits, pressing and releasing this button
onetimefor eachdigit required.
Ifyour systemhas beenselectedfor CustomCode manualoverride asindi-
cated on the last page of this manual, to bypass the alarm system; with a
code of 11, follow the sequence listed below:
1. TheLEDis flashingindicatingtheunitisarmed,enter thevehicle,thesiren
will sound, turn the ignition switch to the “on” position.
2. Within 10 seconds begin to enter tenths digit of override code.
(Inthis ex-amplethe codeis 11, sopress andrelease thedash mounted
PRLED,or the optionalpush-button switchfound onthe glassmounted
receiverassembly onetime).
3. Within 10 seconds of entering the last tenths digit, turn ignition “off then
on”.
4. Within 10 seconds of turning the ignition switch on, begin to enterunits
digit of override code. (In this example the code is 11, so press and
release the dashmounted PRLED,orthe optionalpush-button switch
foundon theglass mounted receiver assembly onetime).
5. Within 5 seconds after the last units digit is entered, turn the ignition
switch off, then on, and start your vehicle.
Ifthe manualoverridecode isentered properly,theunit stopssounding,the
LEDturns off,indicating asuccessful override.The systemis nowdisarmed
andyou canstartand operateyour vehicle.Theunit willallowthree attempts
to disarm via the manual override sequence. If the code is not successfully
enteredwithin thethreeattempts, disarmingwith themanualoverride switch
will be locked for 10 minutes.

In many cases, to increase the security of your system, you may elect to
changethe manualoverride codeto anumber thatis morefamiliartoyou,or
simplyto havea differentcode thanwas pre-assignedfrom thefactory.
To changethe pre-assignedoverridecodefollowthe stepsoutlinedbelow.
Itisadvised youreadboth sectionsunderthe headings“Programming Your
CustomOverride Code”and,“CustomCodeProgramming Example”,tocom-
pletelyunderstandthe procedurebefore youbegin:
CUSTOMCODEOVERRIDEEXAMPLE:
Tochange the codefrom thefactory pre-assignedcodeof 11 to“52” you
woulddo thefollowing:
1. Disarmthe system byuse ofthe transmitter, orby useofthe emergency
overridesequence.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the on position.
3. Within 10 seconds, press and release the PRLED, or the optional
push-buttonswitchfoundontheglass mountedreceiverassembly3times.
4. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(The siren or horn will beep and the lights will flash one time.)
5. Within 10 seconds, begin to press and release the PRLED, or the
optionalpush-button switch foundon theglass mountedreceiver
assembly to set the tenths digit.
(As per the example, press 5 times to set the tenths digit to 5)
6. Within 10 seconds of the last press of the push-button, turn the ignition
` switch off then on.
7. Within 10 seconds, begin to press and release the PRLED, or the
optionalpush-button switchfound onthe glassmounted receiver
assembly to set the units digit.
(As per the example, press 2 times to set the units digit to 2).
8. Turn the ignition switch totheoffposition. Immediately observe the
LED flashpattern.
