YOUR“CODEHOPPING“TRANSMITTERS
The transmitters included with your new security system use the most advanced
and secure form of radio frequency transmission available on any current automo-
tive security system. Some of today’s sophisticated auto thieves use a device
known as a code grabber, which will receive and store the signal from your key-
chain transmitter and re-transmit at a later time to disarm your system.
Your Keeloq Code Hopping transmitters will change their signal every time the
button is pressed, so when a thief grabs then re-transmits your signal, the alarm
system will not respond.
If your transmitter button is pressed more than fifty times while it is out of range of
the vehicle (children playing with your keys), the transmitter will not operate when
you return to the vehicle, and will need to be re-aligned to the receiver. To do this,
simply press button 1, (lock), two times within a one second time period. The
system will now respond to that transmitter each time a button is pressed.
NOTE: This system is custom configurable and can be set up to
operate with a number of options controlled from any transmitter
button or button combination. For reference, we will describe op-
eration assuming that your system is programmed for separate
lock and unlock buttons. Also reference will be made to the icons
as shown on the buttons of the transmitter to the left.
NOTE: Your system has the option of using a siren, the vehicle
horn, or both for the sounding device. Where the siren is refer-
enced below, the horn or both may in fact chirp, or beep.
ARMINGTHE SYSTEM-ACTIVE
1. Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood lid and trunk lid.
2. Press and release Lock/Arm button on the keychain transmitter.
The dash mounted LED begins to flash slowly.
Parking Lights flash one time.
Siren sounds one chirp.
If the siren/horn sounds 3 chirps, then you have left a door, trunk, or hood
lid ajar. Simply close the opened entry point to provide full protection. If
the siren "chirped" three times, sometime after arming, the exclusive
delayed dome light learn circuit has been programmed and the system
detected a open entry point after the learned delay expired.Again, closing
the hood, trunk, or doors will correct the problem and you do not need to
disarm the system to make the correction. If the siren/horn did not sound
when arming, then the chirps have been turned off and you should refer
to the section titled "ELIMINATING THE ARM/DISARM CHIRPS" in this
manual.
Doors Lock - Optional
NOTE: If the optional Headlamp illumination feature has been added, and has
been selected for operation when arming, as an added convenience, the
system will turn on the headlights when the system is armed.

SILENT ARMING - ACTIVE (Feature must be activated during programming)
During step 2 above, hold the transmitter button for 2 seconds then release.
The unit will arm without the chirps for this one lock cycle.
ARMINGTHE SYSTEM-PASSIVE(AUTOMATIC)
(Must be activated during programming)
1. Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle and close and lock all doors, hood lid and
trunk lid.
The dash mounted LED begins to flash rapidly, indicating 30 second passive
arming has begun.
2. Opening any protected entry point during the 30 second passive arming cycle
will immediately suspend automatic arming and the 30 second passive arming
cycle will restart when all doors are closed. At the end of the passive arming
cycle;
The dash mounted LED begins to flash slowly.
Parking Lights flash one time.
Siren sounds one chirp
If the siren did not sound when arming, then the chirps have been turned off and
you should refer to the section titled “ELIMINATING THEARM / DISARM CHIRPS“
in this manual.
Doors Lock - Optional
Door locking during passive arming is a selectable feature. The alarm can be
programmed to allow the doors to lock only when arming using the keychain
transmitter and they will not automatically lock during passive arming.
PROTECTIONWHILE THESYSTEM ISARMED
Opening any protected door, hood or trunk lid will cause the alarm to immedi-
ately sound. The alarm will continue to sound for 30 seconds, then stop and
continue to monitor all protected entry points. If the thief left a door opened, the
alarm will sound for six 30 second cycles, remain armed and ignore that triggered
zone.
Whenever the system is armed, the dash mounted LED indicator will slowly
flash. This serves as a visual deterrent to the potential thief. The LED is a very low
current bulb and will not cause the vehicle’s battery to drain, even when left unat-
tended for extended periods.
Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle’s parking lights will flash for the
full 30 second alarm cycle, attracting visual attention to the vehicle.
Optional - Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle’s starting circuit will be
bypassed. If the thief should choose to ignore the siren, the vehicle can not be
started.

Any mild impact to the vehicle’s glass will cause the alarm to sound a short
series of warning tones.
Any strong impact to the vehicle’s glass will cause the alarm to trigger for the full
30 second alarm cycle.
NOTE: If the optional interior illumination circuit was installed, the interior light will
flash as well for the full 30 second alarm cycle.
DISARMINGTHESYSTEM
Asyouapproachthevehicle,pressandreleasetheDisarmbuttononthekeychaintransmitter.
Theparkinglightswillflash twotimes,the sirenwill chirptwice,and thedashmountedLED
will turn off.
Ifyouhave the optionaldoorlock/unlock circuitinstalled,the doors willunlock.If youhave
theoptionalentryilluminationcircuit installed,theinterior lightwillturnonfor 30secondsor
untiltheignition key isswitchedon.
NOTE: Ifthepassivearmingmodewasselectedattimeofinstallation,thedashmountedLED
willstart flashingrapidly indicatingthatthesystemisrearming.Openinganydoorwill
suspendthe automaticarming.
Ifthe parkinglightsflashedthreetimes,andthesirenchirpsfourtimes,thisindicatesthatthe
alarmsystemwastriggeredduring yourabsence.Before turningon theignitionkey, exam-
inethedashmounted LED's flash pattern. Thenumberofflashes identifies the triggered
zone.Foradditionalinformation,refertoINTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNALSfoundlaterinthis
manual.
If the siren did not sound upon disarm, then the chirps have been turned off. Refer to the
sectiontitledELIMINATINGTHE ARM/DISARMCHIRPS.
NOTE: If the optional 2 step door unlock circuit is installed, when the unlock transmitter
button is activated, the drivers door only will unlock, pressing the unlock button a
second time will cause all doors to unlock. If your transmitter has a sperate lock
unlockbuttons,pressingtheunlockbuttonanytime afterthefirstunlockcommandwill
causeallthe vehicledoorstounlock.
SILENT DISARMING (Feature must be activated during programming)
During step 1 above, hold the transmitter button for 2 seconds then release.
The unit will arm without the chirps for this one lock cycle.
WHILETHESYSTEMISSOUNDING
If during a triggered state, you wish to shut off the siren without disarming your security
system,simplypressandrelease anytransmitterbutton otherthanthedisarmbutton. This
actionwillturn off thesirenyet leave thevehiclefullyarmed andprotected.Thisfeature is
particularlyusefulifyouare awareof childrenplayingnear yourvehicle thatmayaccidently
triggeryoursecuritysystem. In thiscaseyoucan cancel thesirensounding.
INTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNAL
This systemwillinform youifan intrusionattempthas occurredwhileyou wereawayfrom
thevehicle. Upondisarm,thesirenwill chirp4 timesandtheparkinglightswillflash 3times.

Enterthevehicle andbeforeturningon theignitionswitch, observetheLEDflash pattern.
IftheLEDflashes one time...pause, onetime...pauseetc., then an intrusionattemptwas
madebyimpact ora strongvibrationthat theshocksensor detected.Checkthe vehiclefor
possibledamageto theglassor bodypanels.
IftheLED flashestwotimes...pause,twotimes...pause etc.,thenan intrusionattemptwas
madetoopen the hood,trunk,or by anaccessorytriggering device.Checkthevehicle for
indicationsofforcedentry to theseopenings.
IftheLED flashes threetimes...pause,threetimes...pause etc., thenanintrusion attempt
wasmadetothe vehicle doors. Checkalldoorsfor indications of forcedentry.
NOTE: TheLED intrusionwarning indicationsarestoredinthesystem'smemoryandwillbe
erasedwhentheignition switch is turned on.
PUSH-BUTTONLEDRECEIVERVALET/OVERRIDE/SAFETYCONTROLSWITCH
The Push-Button LED switch located in the receiver allows you to temporarily bypass all
alarm functions, eliminating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or
garagemechanics.Whenthesystem is in valet mode, allalarmfunctionsarebypassed,
howeverthe remotepanicfeatureand remotedoor lockswill remainoperational.To usethe
valetmode,thesystemmust firstbedisarmed eitherbyusingyourkeychain transmitter,or
byactivatingyour personalizedmanualoverride code.
1. Enterthevehicle, andturnthe ignitionkeyto theon position.
2. Press and hold the Push-Button switch until the LED turns on solid. The system will
remainin thevaletmode.
3. Toreturn to normaloperation,pressand release the Push-Button switchanytimethe
ignitionis on.
NOTE: Alwaysremembertoreturnthe vehicletothe valetoffposition. Thiswill ensurethat
thevehicleremainsprotectedat alltimes.
MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
Using The Receivers Push-Button Override Switch
YourSecuritySystem canbedisarmed without theuseof thekeychaintransmitter.This is
necessary, sinceyouwill needtheability to operateyourvehicle ifthetransmitter is lostor
its battery fails. If your system has been selected for Valet Switch manual override as
indicatedonthe lastpageof thismanual,to bypassthealarm system;
1. Openthevehicle door.Thealarmwill sound.
2. Turntheignition keytothe onposition.
3. Within5seconds,press and release thepush-buttonoverride switch.
The alarm system will stop sounding and enter the (bypassed) mode.You can now start
andoperate thevehiclenormally.
Typicallythis overridemodeis usedonlyif thetransmitterhas becomeinoperative.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:
Unlikeoverrideswitcheseasily found, anddefeated,thissecurity system allowsthecon-
sumer to program a personal override code, offering a higher level of security. To take

advantageof thisoption,programmablefeature#10must beselected fortheCustomCode
Option.Consultyourinstallationcenterforprogramming details.Thesystem comesfromthe
factorywith apre-programmedoverridecodeof11.Tochangethis defaultoverride code,do
thefollowing:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.Turnthe ignitionswitchto theonposition.
2. Within10seconds, press andreleasethe Receivers Push-buttonswitch,3 times.
3. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesirenor horn will beepandthe lights willflashonetime.)
4. Within10seconds, begintoenteryourchosen 10thsdigit bypressingand releasingthe
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from 1upto 9 times.
5. Within10secondsof the lastentered10ths digit, turn theignitionswitch off then on.
6. Within10seconds, begintoenter yourchosenunits digitbypressing andreleasingthe
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from 1upto 9 times.
7. Finishbyturning the ignitionswitchtothe offposition.
Ifthenew codewasaccepted,the unitwillreport back thenewlyentered code,byflashing
theLED, firstindicatingthe10thsdigit, pauseand thentheunitsdigit.Theunitwill reportthe
new code three times with a one second pause between each code, then the system will
beginarming.IftheLED flashpattern reportsthepreviouslystoredcode, thenewcodewas
notenteredcorrectly.Please repeat steps1 through 7aboveconsidering the following.
NOTE: Acceptable digits, 10ths or units are 1 through 9. The unit will not recognize a 0
(Zero),orno digit entered inanyplace, units ortenths.
NOTE: If15secondsofinactivity expire, or if theignitionswitchisturned off for more then
5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last
successfully stored code.
Custom Code Programming Example:
To Change the code from the factory pre-assigned code of 11 to “52” you would do the
following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.
2. Turntheignition switch totheon position.
3. Within10seconds, press andreleasethe Receivers Push-buttonswitch,3 times.
4. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesirenor horn will beepandthe lights willflashonetime.)
5. Within10seconds, begintopress andreleasethe ReceiversPush-buttonswitch toset
thetenthsdigit. (Asperthe example,pressand release5times tosetthe tenthsdigitto
5)
6. Within10seconds ofthe lastpressofthepushbutton,turntheignitionswitchoffthen on.
7. Within10seconds, begintopress andrelease the ReceiversPush-buttonswitchtoset
theunitsdigit.
(Asperthe example, pressandrelease2 times tosetthe units digit to2).
8. Turntheignition switchtothe offposition.Immediately observetheLED flashpattern.
YouwillnotetheLEDflashingfivetimes,pause,andthenflashtwotimes,pause.Thispatternwillbe
repeatedthreetimesindicatingthenewcode(52)hasbeenacceptedandstoredinmemory.
NOTE: If after step 7, the LED flashes a code other than what was just entered, this

indicatesthatthe codehasnotbeenchanged.Youwillhave torepeat steps1through
7abovebeing certain tonotethe following:
Acceptabledigitsfor10thsor unitsare1 through9.Theunitwill notrecognizea 0(Zero), or
nodigitentered inanyplace, units ortenths.
NOTE: If15secondsofinactivityexpire,oriftheignitionswitchisturnedoffformorethen5seconds
duringanyoftheabovesteps,theunitwillrevertbacktothelastsuccessfullystoredcode.
MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
USINGTHECUSTOMCODEOVERRIDE
Assumingtheoverride code programmedhasnot beenchanged,and the defaultoverride
codeof11is in thesystem'smemory.
1) Enterthe vehicle andturnthe ignitionswitchto the onposition.
NOTE:The sirenwillsound.
2) Within5 seconds, pressandrelease the ReceiversPush-buttonswitch 1time.
3) Within5 seconds, turn theignitionswitchoff then on.
4) Within5 seconds, pressandrelease the ReceiversPush-buttonswitch 1time.
5) Turnthe ignition switch offthenonand start the vehicle.
NOTE: Ifyouhave changed theprogrammedoverride code thensubstituteyour new code
tenths for step 2 above, and units for step 5 above.
ELIMINATING THENORMALARM/DISARMCHIRPS
Youcanselectivelyeliminatethenormalarm&disarmchirpsbyholdingthetransmitterbutton
slightlylongerwhenarming or disarming. This willpreventthesiren chirps for onearmor
disarmcycle.If youfindthis inconvenient andwishto eliminatethesechirpspermanently,
1.Turntheignition switch 'on" then'off".
2.Within 10seconds ofturning offthe ignition,press andrelease theReceivers Push-button
switch 3 times.
3.Ifthechirps were on before youstarted,thesiren will emit 2shortchirpsindicating that
the chirps are now off. If the chirps were off before you started, the siren will emit one
shortchirpindicatingthat the chirps arenowon.
NOTE: If the vehicle battery is disconnected then reconnected, the unit will return to the
defaultsettingofchirpson. Repeatthe aboveproceduretoeliminatethe arm/disarm
chirps.
REMOTEPANICOPERATION
TheLockor Unlockbutton onyourkeychain transmitteralsofunctions asapanic switchfor
useinemergency situations.To useremotepanic:
1. Press and hold the Lock or Unlock button on the keychain transmitter for 3 or more
seconds.The alarmwill immediatelysound.
2.Tostopthealarm,press andholdthe Lockor Unlockbuttonon thetransmitteragain for3
seconds.Ifthe buttonisnot pressed,thealarm willautomaticallystop after30seconds.
Also if any transmitter button other than the Lock or Unlock button is pressed and
released, the Panic mode will be turned off immediately. The normal function of this
transmitterbuttonwillbesuspended duringthePanic soundingperiod.

NOTE: Whilein thePanicmode,pressingand releasingtheLock,orthe Unlockbuttons will,
if the option is installed, lock and unlock the doors respectively. While in the panic
mode,anytimetheunlockbutton is pressed, the panic feature willcontinueforthe
allotted 30 seconds, however, the security system will be disarmed allowing the
vehicletostart.
PUSH-BUTTONLEDRECEIVERSAFETYCONTROLSWITCH
ThePush-ButtonLED control switchallowsyou to temporarilydisabletheremote starting
function of the system. This is recommended whenever the vehicle is being serviced.To
placethesystem intheservice mode:
1.Withthe systemdisarmed/unlocked,and theignitionswitch offPressand Holdthe
Push-Button,foundonthe windsheild receiver,in.
2. Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3.TheLEDbegins to flash twoshortflashesfollowed by one longflashesandcontinues
thispatternuntil returned tonormalmode of operation.
Thisputsthe unitinto theR/SOverride modeindicatingthat theremotestartisin the
servicemodeandwill not startfromRFor any otherinputPosseor otherwise.
ToExitR/SOverride Mode
1.Withthe systemdisarmed, PressandHold thePush-Button,found onthewindsheild
receiver, in.
2. Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3.TheLED turnsoffindicating thattheR/S unitisfully functionaloneagain.
TURBO TIMER MODE
This system provides a means to cool down the vehicles turbo charger, if so equipped, by
allowing the vehicle to continue to run for a prescribed period of time every time the vehicle's
engine is turned off. This feature requires the system to be set up for turbo timer during
installation. Consult with your installation center to be certain this feature was activated and
how long the vehicle will continue to run, 3, 5, or 10 minutes after the ignition switch is turned
off.
To activate the turbo timer:
Anytime the ignition key is in the on position for more than 15 seconds:
1. Place the gear selector in park.
2. Set the parking, (hand), brake.
3. Be certain your foot is off the brake pedal.
4. Press the receiver's program/Push-Button switch 2 times within 5 seconds.
The parking lights will flash two times indicating the mode was successfully entered.
If your parking lights flashed four times, this indicates the turbo mode was on and is now
turned off.
With the turbo timer mode selected on, after you've arrived at your destination, while the
engine is still running, set the parking brake, pause 2 seconds, then turn the ignition switch
to the off position. The engine will continue to run the allotted time according to the selection
during installation.
If you do not want the vehicle to continue to run for one cycle, simply step on the vehicle's
brake, or release the parking brake, or activate the transmitter's start button two times in
succession. Any of these will cause the engine to turn off.

REMOTESTARTINGTHEVEHICLE
TheunitWILL NOT startthevehicle if anyoneof thefollowingconditionsexists:
1.Thevehiclehoodis opened.
2.Thegear selector isinanygear other thenpark.
3.Thebrake isdepressed.
4.Thesystem isinthe remotestartoverride mode.
WARNING! Becertain thatthevehicle isoutdoorsbeforeusing this oranyremote vehicle
startingdevice. Arunningengineproducesdangerouscarbonmonoxidefumes
whichcanbe harmful orfatalifprolonged exposure occurs.DONOT remote
startthevehicleif it is garaged.
To Remote Start the Vehicle:
Press and release the trunk/key button of your keychain transmitter two times within 2
seconds.Thevehicle willstartand remainrunningfor thepre-programmed5, 10,15,or 20
minutes. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or turn on depending on the
programmingsetupbyyour installationcenter.
When you arrive at your vehicle, disarm the alarm system by pressing and releasing the
Disarmbuttonofyourkeychain transmitter.Enterthevehicle andturntheignitionkey tothe
onposition.
NOTE: This system has the ability to be configured to a single press start if you so desire.
Please check with your installation center if your system was changed from the default safe
start setting of two press start or if you wish to change your configuration.
CAUTION! Do not turn the key to the start position. This will cause the starter motor to
engagewiththealreadyrunning enginewhichcouldresultin damage.Stepon
thebrakepedal todisengage theremotestart unit.Thevehicle willcontinueto
run but now on its own power.
NOTE: Theengine willstoprunningbeforethe expirationof thepre-programmedruntimerif
youcompleteany of the following:
1. Press and release trunk/key button of your keychain transmitter two times within 2
seconds.
2.Depressthebrakepedal.
3.Open thehood.
4.Place thesystem inRemote StartOverrideMode.
5.Race theengine toabove 4000RPM.
OPERATING ONAUTOMATICSTART UPTIMERMODE
Thisunithas the abilitytoautomaticallystart the vehicleevery2 or 4 hoursovera 48 hour
period.Thisfeature is especiallyusefulin cold climateswherethe only meanstokeep the
engineandengine fluidswarmis to periodicallystartthe engine.
WARNING! Becertainthat the vehicleisoutdoors before usingthisor any remotevehicle
startingdevice. Arunningengineproducesdangerouscarbonmonoxide fumes
whichcanbe harmful or fatalifprolonged exposure occurs. DONOTremote
startthevehicleif it is garaged.

TOBEGINTHEAUTOMATICSTARTUPTIMER
1. Turntheignition key onthenoff.
2. Within10 seconds,activatetheRFstartcommandtwo times.(Push thetrunk/key button
ofyourkeychain transmitter4times).
Theparkinglightswillflash andthesiren willchirp4timesindicating thetimedstart modeis
activated.
The vehicle, on a 2 or 4 hour interval basis, will automatically start, run for the pre-pro-

TELEMATICUPGRADE:
This system has the ability to have a Telematic Upgrade Module connected to it.
This is an upgrade that can give you control of certain functions of your vehicle
from a telephone, or in some cases a computer interface. Please check with your
installation center for most recent Telematic upgrades. If you had a Telematic
Upgrade Module installed, the manual supplied with the upgrade unit will provide
a operators manual advising of the features of the system and means available to
control these features of your vehicle.

PROGRAMMED TRANSMITTER NOTIFICATION (PTN)
Everytimeafter Disarmwhenthe ignitionkeyis turned on,theunit's LEDwillreport the
numberoftransmitters programmed intothesystem. This safetyfeaturewill alertyouif
anunauthorizedtransmitter hasbeenprogrammed intoyourvehicle's securitysystem
withoutyourknowledge.Typicalfromthe factory, there will be a2flash,pause, repeated
3timesindicating thattwotransmitters areprogrammedinto thesystem.If younote
additionalflashes,there mayhevebeen anadditional transmitteraddedwithout your
knowledgeorauthorization. Ifyounotice achangein thetransmitterLED reportpattern,
youcancorrectthis by looking uphowto erase and reprogramyourtransmittersfound
inthe transmitterprogrammingguide.Thisreprogram operationwill eraseallunauthorized
orunwantedtransmitters.
PROGRAMMINGNEW ORREPLACEMENTTRANSMITTERS(BANK1)
The Transmitter Model Name Is Found On Back Of Transmitter Case
1. Turn the ignition key to the on position.
2. Press and release the valet/programming switch 3 times (Siren Chirps).
3. Press the Lock Button of each transmitter you want programmed until you hear
a chirp from the horn or siren.
4. Turn the ignition switch off.
The above action programs the Lock, Unlock, Start/Trunk, and Option 1 buttons
which are typical for most systems.
For additional channel programming beyond the option 1 button, you can use any
unused button or combination of buttons not in use.
In other words, to access option channel 5, 6, 7, you would do the following:
From step 3 above:
a. Press and release the valet/programming button 4 additional times to get to
channel 5, then Press any unused transmitter button or button combination to
program.
b. From a, press and release the valet/programming button 1 time to get to
channel 6, then press any unused transmitter button or button combination to
program.
c. From b, press and release the valet/programming button 1 time to get to
channel 7, then press any unused transmitter button or button combination to
program.
NOTE: Not all systems have channels above 3, check with your installation center
for options your system may or may not have.

Note: Certain systems have the ability to utilize channels 6 & 7 for driver priority
programming. For driver priority, the vehicle must be equipped with this
feature, and the optional feature must be set up and installed by your
installation center. Once this feature is added when the unlock button of
transmitter 1 is used, it will set driver 1 priority, and when the unlock button
of transmitter 2 is used it will set driver 2 priority. In this situation, the unlock
button can be programmed into two receiver channels, unlock, channel 2
and driver priority 6 or 7. In no other circumstance will the system allow a
transmitter button to be programmed into 2 receiver channels at the same
time.
