Owner's Manual
The PRO-9600 is a full featured security system with on board paging technology that provides
you with a direct link to your vehicle from anywhere in the world. In addition to operating the
system from your keychain transmitter, this patent pending technology allows you to operate
the vehicle from any land or mobile telephone. You can command the security system to arm
or disarm, release the trunk, start the vehicle, and in case of a carjacking, put the PRO-9600 in
a special carjack mode that will flash the lights, sound the siren and prevent restarting of the
vehicle.
The PRO-9600 can be operated from a telephone by placing a call to the 1-800 number listed
on the wallet card enclosed. The voice prompt interface will request your subscriber # and Pin
#. Then enter the numerical reference # for the command you want to send. The command will
be sent through the satellite and land based network and within minutes your vehicle will re-
spond. It is advised that you read this manual in it's entirety to understand all the features and
options available to your vehicle.

Your PRO-9600 Remote Security System with on-board Satellite/Paging Access has many
features and available options; some of which are selected at time of installation. For your
reference, the list on the back page of this manual shows what features and options have
been installed. Consult your installing dealer for options that may have been installed and
are not listed.
YOUR ANTI CODE GRABBING TRANSMITTERS:
The transmitters included with the PRO-9600 use technology considered to be the most
secure form of radio frequency transmission available on today's Automotive Security Sys-
tems. Thieves today may use a device commonly referred to as a code grabber. With this
device, the code transmitted from a common RF transmitter can be captured and played
back at a later date to disarm a standard security system. With the use of Anti Code Grab-
bing Technology, every time you activate your transmitter button, the code changes. This
changed code is now anticipated by the alarm and any prior code will no longer operate the
system. In this way, if a thief were to capture your code, it would be useless because your
alarm system is now looking for the next code in the transmitter's sequence.
If your transmitter is operated more than 50 times out of range of the alarm's receiver, (i.e.,
Children playing with your keys) the transmitter will not operate the alarm when you return to
the vehicle. The transmitter, in this situation, will have to be realigned. To realign your
transmitter, while within range of your alarm's receiver, simply press the transmitter's button
1 twice within one second. The system will now respond to that transmitter normally.
ARMING THE SYSTEM - ACTIVE OPERATION:
1. Turn the engine off, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood and trunk.
2. Press and release the arm/disarm button of your key chain transmitter one time.
The parking lights will flash once, the siren will chirp once, and the dash mounted LED will
begin to flash slowly confirming the system is armed. If you have the optional door lock/
unlock circuit installed, the doors will lock.
Note: If the siren chirped three times, then you have left a door, hood, or trunk ajar. Simply
closing that opening will provide full protection. If the siren did not sound when arming,
then the chirps have been turned off. Refer to the section on "Eliminating the Arm/Disarm
Chirps" shown later in this manual.
SILENT ARMING - ACTIVE OPERATION:
1. Turn the engine off, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood and trunk.
2. Press and hold the arm/disarm button of your key chain transmitter for two seconds.
The parking lights will flash once, and the dash mounted LED will begin to flash slowly
confirming the system is armed. The siren will not chirp. If you have the optional door
lock/unlock circuit installed, the doors will lock.
Note: If the siren chirped three times, then you have left a door, hood, or trunk ajar. Simply
closing that opening will provide full protection.
ARMING THE SYSTEM - PASSIVE OPERATION: (AUTOMATIC)
If the passive arming feature has been selected:
1. Turn the engine off, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood and trunk.
The dash mounted LED will begin to flash rapidly indicating that the 30 second passive
arming timer has begun. If the LED does not begin to flash rapidly, then you have left a door,
hood, or trunk ajar. Closing this entry point will allow the arming cycle will begin. If any entry

point is opened during the 30 second arming cycle, arming will be suspended. When all
entry points are closed, the arming cycle will begin again.
At the end of the 30 seconds, The parking lights will flash once, the siren will chirp once, and
the dash mounted LED will begin to flash slowly confirming the system is armed. If the siren
did not sound when arming, then the chirps have been turned off. Refer to the section on
"Eliminating the Arm/Disarm Chirps" shown later in this manual. Passive door locking is a
selectable feature. If you have the optional door lock/unlock circuit installed, the doors may
or may not lock passively dependent upon the setup during installation.
PROTECTION WHILE THE SYSTEM IS ARMED:
Opening any protected entry point, hood, trunk, or doors will cause the alarm to trigger
immediately. The siren will sound and the parking lights will flash for 30 seconds, then stop
and continue to monitor all protected entry points. If the thief left the door opened, the unit
will sound for six 30 second cycles then shut down, ignore the triggered zone and continue
to protect all other zones.
Whenever the system is armed, the dash mounted LED will slowly flash. This serves as a
visual deterrent to a potential thief. This LED is a very low current light emitting diode, and
will not cause he battery to drain even if left unattended for long periods of time.
Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle parking lights will flash for the full siren sounding
period. As an option, whenever the system is triggered, the interior courtesy light will flash
for the full siren sounding period.
Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle starter circuit is disabled; the ignition key will not
allow the vehicle to start.
Whenever the system is armed, any strong impact to the vehicle will cause the shock detec-
tor to trigger the alarm. Any lesser impact will cause the pre-detect stage of the shock
sensor to emit a few short series of warning tones from the siren.
DISARMING THE SYSTEM:
As you approach the vehicle, press and release the ARM/DISARM button on the keychain
transmitter.
The parking lights will flash two times, the siren will chirp twice, and dash mounted LED will
turn off.
If you have the optional door lock/unlock circuit installed, the doors will unlock. If you have
the optional entry illumination circuit installed, the interior light will turn on for 30 seconds or
until the ignition key is switched on.
Note: If the passive arming mode was selected at time of installation, the dash mounted
LED will start flashing rapidly indicating that the system is rearming. Opening any door will
suspend the automatic arming.
If the parking lights flashed three times, and the siren chirps four times, this indicates that
the alarm system had been triggered during your absence. Before turning on the ignition
key, examine the dash mounted LED's flash pattern. The number of flashes identifies the
triggered zone. For additional information, refer to INTRUSION WARNING SIGNALS found
later in this manual.
If the siren did not sound upon disarm, then the chirps have been turned off. Refer to the
section titled ELIMINATING THE ARM/DISARM CHIRPS.

As you approach the vehicle, press and hold the arm/disarm button of your key chain trans-
mitter for two seconds.
The parking lights will flash twice, and the dash mounted LED will turn off confirming that the
system is disarmed. If you have the optional door lock/unlock circuit installed, the doors will
unlock. If you have the optional entry illumination circuit installed, the interior light will turn on
for 30 seconds or until the ignition key is switched on.
Note: If the passive arming mode was selected at time of installation, the dash mounted LED
will start flashing rapidly indicating that the system is rearming. Opening any door will sus-
pend the automatic arming.
If the parking lights flashed three times, and the siren chirps four times, this indicates that the
alarm system had been triggered during your absence. Before turning on the ignition key,
examine the dash mounted LED's flash pattern. The number of flashes identifies the triggered
zone. For additional information, refer to INTRUSION WARNING SIGNALS found later in this
manual.
INTRUSION WARNING SIGNAL:
This system will inform you if an intrusion attempt has occurred while you were away from the
vehicle. Upon disarming the unit, the siren will chirp 4 times and the parking lights will flash 3
times. Enter the vehicle and before turning on the ignition switch, observe the LED flash
pattern.
If the LED flashes one time...pause, one time...pause etc., then an intrusion attempt was
made by impact or a strong vibration that the shock sensor detected. Check the vehicle for
possible damage to the glass or body panels.
If the LED flashes two times...pause, two times...pause etc., then an intrusion attempt was
made to open the hood, trunk, or by an accessory triggering device. Check the vehicle for
indications of forced entry to these openings.
If the LED flashes three times...pause, three times...pause etc., then an intrusion attempt was
made to the vehicle doors. Check all doors for indications of forced entry.
NOTE: The LED intrusion warning indications are stored in the system's memory and will be
erased when the ignition switch is turned on.
VALET SWITCH:
The valet switch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, eliminating the need to
hand your keychain transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics. When the system
is in the valet mode, all alarm functions are bypassed, however the remote panic feature, and
the optional remote door lock/unlock will remain operational. To enter the valet mode;
1. Start with the valet switch in the "off" position
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "on" position.
3. Within 10 seconds of step 2, move the valet switch to the "on" position.
The dash mounted LED will turn on solid indicating that the valet mode has successfully been
entered.
To return to the normal, (alarm mode), operation, move the valet switch to the "off" position
any time the ignition switch is in the on position.
NOTE: Always remember to move the valet switch back to the off position. This will ensure
that the vehicle remains protected at all times.

PROGRAMMING YOUR MANUAL OVERRIDE CODE:
Your security system can be disarmed without the use of the keychain transmitter. This is
necessary, since you will need the ability to disarm the system if you lose your transmitter, or
if the transmitter battery fails.
In order to provide the highest level of security, this system will allow you to program your
personal manual override code. This two (2) digit code comprises a first digit which must be
a digit from 1 through 9, and a second digit which must be either 1, 2, or 3.
To program your override code, the unit must be in the disarmed mode. Once disarmed,
program your code as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch on, then off, then on.
2. Within three seconds of step 1, move the valet switch on, then off. The siren will emit one
short chirp followed by one long chirp. This indicates that the system is in the manual
override programming mode.
3. The dash mounted LED will begin to count by flashing. Allow the LED to count up to the
first digit you've selected, (1 through 9).
4. As soon as the LED flashes the corresponding count of your first selected digit, quickly turn
the ignition key;
a) Off then on one time for second digit 1
b) Off then on two times for second digit 2
c) Off then on three times for second digit 3
5. The siren will emit one short chirp, followed by one long chirp, indicating that the code has
been memorized.
6. After a 2 second pause, the LED will flash confirmation of the stored code, beginning with
the first digit, pause then the second digit.
EXAMPLE: To program the code 52, you would;
1. From the disarmed state, turn the ignition key on, then off, then on.
2. Within 3 seconds, flip the valet switch on, then off.
The siren will emit one short chirp followed by one long chirp. This indicates that the
system is in the manual override programming mode.
3. Allow the LED to flash 5 times and during or immediately after the fifth flash, quickly turn the
ignition key off, then on, then off, then on.
4. The siren will emit one short chirp followed by one long chirp, indicating that the code has
been memorized.
5. After a 2 second pause, the LED will flash 5 times, pause then flash 2 times. This confirms
that the code, 52, has been successfully programmed and stored into memory.
USING YOUR MANUAL OVERRIDE:
It is very important that you understand the operation of the manual override feature as there
may be times that you need to bypass the alarm system if your transmitter is lost or becomes
inoperative due to battery failure. You should also write down your personal custom override
code, and keep it in a safe accessible place within the vehicle for future reference.
To override the alarm system:
1. Open the door the alarm will sound.
2. Turn the ignition key to the on position. The alarm will stop sounding for three seconds,
then the siren will begin counting with long chirps. First chirp = 1, second chirp = 2, third
chirp = 3 ....

3. As soon as the chirp that corresponds to your first digit sounds, quickly turn the ignition
key;
a) Off then on if your second digit is 1
b) Off then on, then off, then on if your second digit is 2.
c) Off then on, off then on, off then on, if your second digit is 3.
4. The alarm will stop sounding, and you can now start and operate your vehicle normally.
IMPORTANT NOTICE! If you elected not to program your personal manual override code,
the factory preset code is 1:1. To override the system with the factory default code (1:1) still
in memory;
1. Open the door the alarm will sound.
2. Turn the ignition key to the on position. The alarm will stop sounding for three seconds,
then the siren will begin counting with long chirps.
3. As soon as the first long chirp is head, quickly turn the ignition key Off then on
4. The alarm will stop sounding, indicating that the system is disarmed. You can now start
and operate your vehicle normally.
ELIMINATING THE NORMAL ARM/DISARM CHIRPS:
You can selectively eliminate the normal arm & disarm chirps by holding the transmitter
button slightly longer when arming and disarming. This will prevent the siren chirps for one
arm or disarm cycle. If you find this inconvenient and wish to eliminate these chirps perma-
nently.
1. Start with the valet switch in the off position.
2. Turn the ignition switch on then off.
3. Within 10 seconds of turning off the ignition, flip the valet switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
4. If the chirps were on before you started, the siren will emit 2 short chirps indicating that the
chirps are now off. If the chirps were off before you started, the siren will emit one short
chirp indicating that the chirps are now on.
NOTE: Whenever the chirps are bypassed, the 4 chirp intrusion and the 3 chirp defective
zone indicators will continue to operate. Since these are important warnings to you that
something has happened, they cannot be eliminated.
REMOTE PANIC OPERATION:
The Arm/Disarm button of your transmitter also functions as a panic switch for use in emer-
gency situations.
To use the panic feature:
1. Press and hold the Arm/Disarm button of your keychain transmitter for 3 or more seconds.
The alarm will immediately sound.
2. To stop the siren from sounding, press and release the Arm/Disarm button of the keychain
transmitter. If the transmitter is not used to cancel the panic mode, the unit will automati-
cally stop sounding after 30 seconds.
NOTE: All alarm and transmitter functions will operate while in the panic mode.
ADDITIONAL REMOTE CHANNELS AVAILABLE FROM YOUR TRANSMITTER OR BY
PAGING THE VEHICLE:
The PRO-9600 security system has additional features that can be controlled from your
keychain transmitter as well from the satellite paging network. These features can be config-
ured to operate from a single transmitter button or from a combination of transmitter buttons.

The configuration listed indicates the default setting from the factory. If the installation of
your unit specifies a different transmitter configuration, the transmitter operation will be listed
on the rear page of this manual.
REMOTE CHANNEL 2 / AUXILIARY 1 FUNCTIONS:
This security system has an additional feature that can be connected to a number of optional
accessories. Some of the more common uses of channel 2 / auxiliary 1 functions are;

ADDITIONAL SATELLITE/PAGING FUNCTIONS AVAILABLE FROM ANY TELEPHONE:
When it becomes necessary for you to send a satellite/paging command to your vehicle,
follow the simple steps listed on the wallet card presented with your system.
You have the option to control:
1. Arming of the Alarm; This command allows alarm arming.
2. Disarming of the Alarm; If your transmitter is lost or the battery fails, this command allows
disarm without the use of your keychain transmitter.

3. Unlocking of the vehicle Doors; (Must have power door locks and optional interface in-
stalled). If you've ever locked your keys in your vehicle, this command requires no expla-
nation. A simple phone call to the 1-800 number and you're in.
4. Channel 2 / Auxiliary 1; Whatever function is controlled by the alarm's channel 2 can also
be activated by satellite paging. The function of auxiliary 1 is listed on your user's card as
well, indicated on the last page of this manual.
5. Channel 3 / Auxiliary 2; Whatever function is controlled by the alarm's channel 3 can also
be activated by satellite paging. The function of auxiliary 2 is listed on your user's card as
well, indicated on the last page of this manual.
6. Channel 4 / Auxiliary 3; Whatever function is controlled by the alarm's channel 4 can also
be activated by satellite paging. The function of auxiliary 3 is listed on your user's card as
well, indicated on the last page of this manual.
7. Theft / Carjack; If the vehicle has been stolen, or if the vehicle has been hijacked, you can
activate this command from any telephone. While in this mode, the vehicle lights and horn
/ siren will sound a specialized S.O.S. pattern, (3 short flashes and chirps, followed by 3
long flashes and chirps, followed by 3 short flashes and chirps...). In addition, the starter
inhibit feature is activated. This prevents restarting of the vehicle once it has been turned
off. In addition, the vehicle speed sensor is monitored and will allow the vehicle to be driven
a short distance. Once the vehicle comes to a complete stop for more than 5 seconds the
PRO-9600 will cause the engine to shut off, disabling the vehicle and leaving the thief
stranded. If the need arises to activate a theft command, the only way to reset this function
is to call in a "Reset" command. (see command 8 below)
8. Reset; While in the theft mode from a satellite command, reset will reset all light, siren,
and starter inhibit activity. After a reset command is issued, the vehicle doors will remain
locked. (Only with optional power door lock interface installed)
9. Test; This command allows you to confirm the operation of all of the paging features and
functions available to you. Upon request of the test command, the system will sequentially
test the features of your vehicle as follows:
Auxiliary 1, Auxiliary 2, Auxiliary 3, Unlock, Arm, Disarm, Theft, Reset.
NOTE: Do not leave keys in vehicle when requesting a test. Upon completion of the
test routine, the doors will lock.
NOTE: Auxiliary 1, 2, 3 if installed are listed later in this manual.
10. Auto Locate; This command allows you to locate your vehicle in a crowded parking lot.
Upon activation of this command, the vehicle's lights will flash and the horn/siren will sound
with a specialized S.O.S. pattern, (3 short flashes and chirps, followed by 3 long flashes
and chirps, followed by 3 short flashes and chirps). In addition, the starter inhibit feature
will be activated. This flash and chirp mode will remain active for 3 minutes after which,
only the lights will flash for an additional 2 minutes. The unit will then go into a sequenc-
ing of lights and siren for 30 seconds followed by lights only for 2 minutes followed by lights
and siren etc..... This mode will be reset by use of the arm/disarm button of your keychain
transmitter or by following the manual override sequence explained earlier in this manual.
