Installation Guide
SOLO, CUBO, XYLO & ZARA Heated Rails used with In-Wall Kit - 12V
OVERVIEW
Note: Non thermostatically controlled heated towel rails only heat to optimal temperature when covered with a towel.
Thank you for choosing an Avenir heated towel rail - All Avenir products are designed, developed and tested in Australia to last a lifetime and
to exceed your expectations. Its important to understand that with low voltage products the performance of the product can be impeded
significantly if not installed correctly and in accordance with this installation guide. Common issues arise from not using the supplied low
voltage wire, installing the transformer too far away or using a low voltage wire with the incorrect specifications - Please only use the
supplied low voltage wire. Installing SOLO, CUBO and XYLO Heated Rails is done in 2 separate stages.
1. IN-WALL KIT
Assemble the In-Wall Kit as follows:
• Insert the aluminium threaded spigots into the spacing template (max 5 per In-Wall Kit)
• Feed red and black wires in parallel to all installed spigots
• Slide the aluminium C-channel over the spigots
• Install the assembled In-Wall Kit below the wall surface (wall lining or render).
• Install the transformer in a serviceable and ventilated location - usually this is in the ceiling space above - within 2 meters.
• Connect 240V switched supply to the primary of the transformer
• Tile / render over the spigots such that at least 10mm of thread protrudes.
2. SINGLE HEATED RAILS
Install the heated rails as follows:
• Using the supplied double sided tape, stick the Drilling Templates on the wall by locating the large hole over the protruding spigots
• Using the supplied diamond drill bit and the MDF Drilling Template as a guide, drill holes in the wall surface (remove template after)
• Using the supplied plugs screws and washers fit the wall mounting components
• Screw wall mounting a component onto each spigot
Connect and install heated rails
• Using the supplied green connector, connect the element to the red and black supply wire from the spigots
• Feed the looped end of the element wires into the rails
• Fit the rails onto the mounting components
• Test - heating takes 30 minutes to reach full temperature.
WARNING
• This appliance MUST be installed by a licenced registered electrician.
• In order to avoid hazards for children, this appliance shall be installed so that the lowest rail is at least 600mm above the floor.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to
avoid a hazard. All pole disconnection in the fixed wiring shall be provided.
• This product should be supplied by an approved transformer which provides 12V~ output voltage and sufficient output power
appropriate to the specification of the product - see product rating label. Transformer must not be overloaded.
