Installing the AVB Assembly
To install an AVB assembly into Stage 32:
1If you have not already done so, unpack the new AVB assembly from its packaging.
2Being sure to orient the assembly correctly, carefully slide the new AVB assembly into its slot on the Stage 32 front panel. Make sure
the new assembly does not catch or bend any internal cables or other components.
3When the assembly is fully seated in its slot, secure it to the Stage 32 front panel by tightening the two captive fasteners on the as-
sembly faceplate.
4Inside the Stage 32, connect the red and black cable to the new card.
5Connect the ZIF ribbon cable to the new card.
• Make sure the cable is aligned correctly and fully inserted into its connector. Make sure the cable is inserted in the same orientation
as it was before it was disconnected.
• After inserting the cable into its connector fully, push the tab down so it is in its closed position.
To verify that the AVB Card is correctly installed, connected, and operational:
1Power on the system.
2Connect a mic to an analog input on the Stage 32.
3Patch the signal to an Input Channel, and assign that Input Channel to an analog output on the Stage 32.
4While speaking, look at the front panel of the Stage 32 and verify the signal LEDs (Sig) on at least one SRI and SRO card are indi-
cating signal activity.
5If the signal LEDs do not show activity it is likely that the ZIF cable was not connected properly during the repair.
• Shut down your system and Stage 32, then check all cable connections. Make sure the ribbon cable is correctly seated and secured
in its connector (see Figure 7).

Make sure the ZIF cable is fully inserted and seated correctly in its connector, and that you reset its retaining clip to the closed position.
