CONNECTIONS
To access the dipswitches and all connections, please open the Universal Gateway
case by unfastening the front screw (PZ1) and removing the lid.

INSTALLATION
Before xing the device in place, check the network coverage
within the immediate environment. The Universal Gateway can
be used as a coverage meter by changing the jumper switch J10
to ON (see g 1). The ve LEDs on the front of the unit will show
the network signal level. Once a suitable location has been found,
switch J10 back to OFF.
To x the device in position, drill two holes in the wall and insert
the plugs and screws provided with the device. Then hang the Universal Gateway on
these two points using the tear-shaped bracket.

STARTING THE DEVICE
+Insert SIM card in connector J2, pressing it until it clicks
+Ensure that the antenna is screwed in completely in J1 – only use antennas from the
Memco range.
+Connect the emergency telephone to connector J7 or terminal J8
+Connect 12VDC power to J5
+To switch o the device, remove the power supply from J5.
DEVICE HEALTH CHECK
See below for an overview of all LEDs. On start-up, you should see the following within
60seconds:

The Universal Gateway has indicator LEDs that constantly report the
device status.
Each indicator will be fully on, fully o or ashing. Details of each
indicator and function are detailed below:

SIM CARD SETTINGS
AVIRE SIM CARDS
Avire SIM cards come precongured to be used with our products
immediately after plugging them in. You will need to know the CCID number
to add this information to the Avire Hub.

NON AVIRE SIM CARDS
If you are using a dierent SIM card, you may need to unlock it via its PIN code in order
to connect with the mobile operator. In this case, follow either of these steps:
OPTION 1 (RECOMMENDED)
You can program the PIN code of the SIM card into the DCP using an analogue phone
plugged into to the J1A or J9 connection.
Enter conguration mode :
Update SIM card PIN parameter:
is the PIN code given by the service provider.
At this point, the SIM card LED will stop ashing. If it does not, make sure the SIM is
correctly inserted and you entered the correct PIN.
OPTION 2
Disable the blocking PIN code using a conventional mobile phone. Plug the SIM into a
dierent mobile device and unlock it in the device settings.
BASIC GSM GATEWAY
In this operation mode, the Universal Gateway can be used as a converter for an
analogue phone line into a GSM line. It can send and receive data by DTMF and place
voice calls for trapped personnel.

MONITORING
Monitoring can be set up for the Universal Gateway via the Avire Hub. This is in
compliance with EN81-28. Alternatively, at any time a status can be retrieved using SMS
as follows. User sends an SMS to the device using the SIM telephone number:

Assuming the device password/PIN is 1234, the Universal Gateway will reply:

ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS
This device is designed to be used indoors (0oC to 45oC with relative humidity between
20% to 80% not condensing). Sudden changes of temperature and humidity should be
avoided.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Use a soft dry cloth. Do not use solvent or abrasive products.
SAFETY
Please read these safety instructions before starting the device.
+Do not expose this device to liquids or excessive humidity. The Universal Gateway is
an indoor device and is not waterproof.
+Do not expose the device to re.
+Do not try to modify the device.
+Do not use the device in potentially hazardous areas or where there is risk of
explosion.
The Universal Gateway emits low levels of radio frequency when in operation.
DISPOSAL
The device complies with regulations 2002/95/CE and 2003/108/CE regarding
the use and disposal of hazardous substances in electric appliances.
Do not dispose of this device with unsorted household waste. Disposing
of the device in an unauthorised way could result in a ne in line with local
regulations.

ANSCHLÜSSE
Um an die Dipschalter und alle Anschlüsse zu gelangen, önen Sie das Gehäuse des
Universal Gateway, indem Sie die Frontschraube lösen und den Deckel abnehmen.

INSTALLATION
Bevor Sie das Gerät am Aufstellungsort xieren, kontrollieren
Sie bitte die Netzabdeckung in der unmittelbaren Umgebung.
Das Universal Gateway kann als Signalstärkenanzeige verwendet
werden, indem der Jumper J10 auf AN gesetzt wird (siehe Abb.
1). Die fünf LEDs an der Gerätefront zeigen die Signalstärke an.
Sobald eine geeignete Stelle gefunden wurde, stellen Sie J10
wieder zurück auf AUS.
Um das Gerät zu xieren, bohren Sie zwei Löcher in die Wand und setzen die
mitgelieferten Dübel und Schrauben ein. Dann hängen Sie das Universal Gateway an
den beiden Befestigungspunkten auf.

STARTEN DES GERÄTS
+Schieben Sie die SIM-Karte in Konnektor J2, bis sie klickt.
+Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Antenne vollständig in J1 eingeschraubt ist –
verwenden Sie nur eine Antenne aus dem AVIRE-Sortiment.
+Schließen Sie das Notruftelefon an Konnektor J7 oder Anschluss J8 an.
+Verbinden Sie den 12VDC-Stromanschluss mit J5.
+Um das Gerät abzuschalten, entfernen Sie die Stromversorgung aus J5.

Nachfolgend ein Überblick über alle LEDs. Beim Start sollten Sie innerhalb von 60
Sekunden Folgendes sehen:

EINSTELLUNGEN DER SIM-KARTE
AVIRE SIM-KARTEN
Avire SIM-Karten sind vorkonguriert, sodass diese nach dem Einsetzen in unsere
Produkte sofort verwendet werden können. Sie müssen die CCID-Nummer kennen, die
Sie im Avire Hub eingeben.

SIM-KARTEN, DIE NICHT VON AVIRE STAMMEN
Wenn Sie eine andere SIM-Karte verwenden, müssen Sie diese eventuell über deren
PIN-Code entsperren, um die Verbindung zum Mobilnetzanbieter herstellen zu können.
Gehen Sie in diesem Fall entsprechend den nachfolgenden Schritten vor:
OPTION 1 (EMPFOHLEN)
Sie können den PIN-Code der SIM-Karte unter Verwendung eines Analogtelefons, das
in den Anschluss J1A oder J9 eingesteckt ist, in die DCP programmieren.
Kongurationsmodus aufrufen:
PIN-Parameter der SIM-Karte aktualisieren:
ist der vom Netzbetreiber bereitgestellte PIN-Code.
Jetzt hört die SIM-Karten-LED auf, rot zu blinken. Falls nicht, prüfen Sie, ob die SIM-
Karte korrekt eingesetzt ist und Sie die korrekte PIN eingegeben haben.
OPTION 2
Den sperrenden PIN-Code unter Verwendung eines konventionellen Mobiltelefons
deaktivieren. Die SIM-Karte in ein anderes Mobilgerät einsetzen und sie in den
Geräteeinstellungen entsperren.
BASIC GSM-GATEWAY
In diesem Betriebsmodus kann das Universal Gateway als Konverter verwendet werden,
der eine analoge Telefonleitung in eine GSM-Verbindung umwandelt.
Es kann über das Mehrfrequenzwahlverfahren Daten senden und empfangen und
Sprachanrufe mit eingeschlossenen Personen tätigen.

ÜBERWACHUNG
Die Überwachung des Universal Gateway kann über den Avire Hub eingestellt werden.
Dies entspricht EN81-28. Alternativ kann der Status, wie nachfolgend beschrieben,
jederzeit per SMS abgerufen werden. Der Benutzer sendet eine SMS an die SIM-
Karten-Telefonnummer des Geräts:

UMGEBUNGSBEDINGUNGEN
Dieses Gerät ist für den Betrieb in Innenräumen geeignet (0oC bis 45oC, bei einer
relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit von 20% bis 80%, nicht kondensierend).
Abrupte Veränderungen von Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit sollten vermieden werden.

hinsichtlich der Verwendung und Entsorgung gefährlicher Substanzen in
elektrischen Geräten.
Geben Sie dieses Gerät nicht in den Hausmüll. Im Falle einer

CONNEXIONS
Pour accéder aux Commutateurs DIP, veuillez ouvrir le boitier du Passerelle Universelle en
dévissant la vis de devant (PZ1) puis en retirant le couvercle.

INSTALLATION
Avant de xer le dispositif, vériez la couverture du réseau dans
les environs. Le Passerelle Universelle peut être utilisé pour
mesurer la couverture en changeant le switch à cavalier de J10 à
ON (voir ci-dessus). Les cinq LED du devant de l’unité indiquent
la force du signal du réseau. Une fois que vous aurez trouvé un
endroit adapté, remettez le J10 sur OFF et xez l’unité.
Pour xer l’unité à sa place, percez deux trous et insérez les
chevilles et les vis fournies. Puis accrochez le Passerelle Universelle sur ces deux vis en
utilisant le support en forme de goutte.

DÉMARRER LE DISPOSITIF
+Insérez la carte SIM dans le connecteur J2, pressez jusqu’à ce qu’elle clique.
+Assurez-vous que l’antenne est vissée jusqu’au bout en J1 - n’utilisez que des
antennes de la gamme Memco.
+Connectez le téléphone de secours à le connecteur J7 ou à le terminal J8
+Connectez l’alimentation 12VDC à J5
+Pour éteindre le dispositif, retirez l’alimentation de J5.
CONTRÔLE DE SANTÉ DU DISPOSITIF
Voir ci-dessous pour un aperçu de toutes les LED. Au démarrage, vous devriez
observer les éléments suivants dans les 60s :

Le Passerelle Universelle comporte indicateurs à LED qui achent en
permanence le statut du dispositif.

CONDITIONS DE L’ENVIRONNEMENT
Ce dispositif est conçu pour une utilisation en intérieur (de 0oC à 45oC avec une
humidité relative allant de 20% à 80 % sans condensation). Il faut éviter tout
changement brusque de la température ou de l’humidité.
NETTOYAGE ET MAINTENANCE
Utilisez un linge sec doux. N’utilisez pas de solvant ou de produit abrasif.
SÉCURITÉ
Veuillez lire les instructions de sécurité avant de démarrer le dispositif.
+N’exposez pas ce dispositif à des liquides ou une humidité excessive. Le Passerelle
Universelle est un dispositif d’intérieur et n’est pas étanche.
+N’exposez pas ce dispositif au feu.
+N’essayez pas de modier le dispositif.
+N’utilisez pas le dispositif dans des zones potentiellement dangereuses ou
présentant des risques d’explosion.
Le Passerelle Universelle émet de faibles niveaux de fréquences radio quand il
fonctionne.
ÉLIMINATION
Le dispositif est conforme aux règlementations 2002/95/CE et 2003/108/
CE concernant l’utilisation et l’élimination des substances dangereuses dans
les appareils électriques.
Ne jetez pas ce dispositif dans les ordures ménagères. L’élimination de ce
dispositif de façon non autorisée peut générer des amendes en fonction de
la règlementation locale.

Avire certie que le processus de production respecte la Directive européenne

OPTION 1 (RECOMMANDÉE)
Vous pouvez programmer le code PIN de la carte SIM dans le Passerelle
Universelle en utilisant un téléphone analogique branché dans ls
connexion J7 (Voir le diagramme de la page 2)
Entrez en mode conguration :
Mettez à jour le paramètre PIN de la carte SIM :
c’est le code PIN fourni par le fournisseur d’accès.
À cette étape, la LED de la carte SIM arrêtera de clignoter en rouge. Si ce n’est pas le
cas, assurez-vous que la carte SIM est correctement insérée et que vous avez entré le
bon code PIN.
OPTION 2
Désactivez le code PIN de blocage en utilisant un téléphone portable conventionnel.
Insérez la SIM dans un autre dispositif mobile et débloquez-la dans les réglages du
dispositif.
PASSERELLE GSM BASIQUE
En mode fonctionnement, le Passerelle Universelle peut être utilisé comme
convertisseur pour une ligne téléphonique analogique dans une ligne GSM. Il peut
envoyer et recevoir des données par DTMF et passer des appels vocaux pour le
personnel bloqué.
Le paramètre P020 doit être réglé sur 00 en mode conguration.

SUIVI
Le suivi peut être réglé pour le Passerelle Universelle via le Hub Avire. Cette fonction
respecte la norme EN81-28.
Sinon, le statut peut être reçu à tout moment en utilisant un SMS comme suit.
L’utilisateur envoie un SMS au dispositif en utilisant le numéro de téléphone de la SIM :

En supposant que le mot de passe/code PIN du dispositif est 1234, le Passerelle
Universelle répondra :

COLLEGAMENTI
Per accedere ai dipswitch e a tutti i collegamenti, aprire il contenitore Gateway Universale
svitando le viti frontali (PZ1) e rimuovendo il coperchio.

INSTALLAZIONE
Prima di bloccare in posizione il dispositivo, vericare la copertura
della rete nell’ambiente circostante. È possibile utilizzare il
Gateway Universale come misuratore di copertura portando il
ponticello di commutazione J10 su ON (vedere g. 1). I cinque LED
sulla parte frontale dell’unità mostrano il livello di segnale della
rete. Una volta individuata la posizione adatta, riportare J10 su
OFF.
Per bloccare in posizione il dispositivo, eettuare due fori nella parete e inserire i
tasselli e le viti forniti con il dispositivo. Appendere a tali punti il Gateway Universale
utilizzando l’apposita staa.

AVVIO DEL DISPOSITIVO
+Inserire la scheda SIM nel connettore J2 premendola no ad avvertire un clic.
+Assicurarsi che l’antenna sia completamente avvitata in J1 - utilizzare solo antenne
della serie Memco.
+Collegare il telefono d’emergenza al connettore J7 o al terminale J8
+Collegare l’alimentazione a 12VDC su J5
+Per disattivare il dispositivo, scollegare l’alimentazione elettrica da J5.
VERIFICA CORRETTO FUNZIONAMENTO DEL DISPOSITIVO
Per la descrizione di tutti i LED vedere di seguito. Entro 60 secondi dall’accensione,
deve essere visibile quanto segue:
