1. Getting Started
The Pacific X-HDU allows transmission of HDMI video/audio signal, extend keyboard/mouse, and IR
(infrared signal) over standard Cat-5e/6 (shielded*) cable. Consisting of an HDMI transmitter, the Pacific
X-HDUT (TX) and an HDMI receiver-Pacific X-HDUR (RX) that allows transmission of 1080p60 HD over
100 meters based on HDBaseT®technology. Moreover, KVM (keyboard and mouse) and IR features
can be extended as well through Pacific X-HDU. Extend application with Pacific X-HDU no matter where
the remote/monitored device is. Pacific X-HDU also supports HID (Human Interface Device) which allow
connection to a touch screen for controlling the remote device easily.
This chapter introduces the features and specifications as well as the external components of Avitech
Pacific X-HDUT/R.
Avitech recommends using a shielded twisted pair (STP) or screened fully shielded twisted pair (SFTP)
cat.5e/6 cable while using Avitech Pacific X-HDU for signal extension and KVM control.
1.1 Package Contents
After unpacking the shipping carton, the following standard items can be found:
Avitech Pacific X-HDUT/R Utility Disc (software and user manual)
5VDC/3A Power Adapter
(1pc per unit)
Magnetic Foot Stand with Screws

1.2 Product Features
The Pacific X-HDU is a compact and standalone device (rack-mountable) which extends the HDMI/
KVM/USB/IR transmission range up to 100m (328ft) at 1080p60 based on HDBaseT®. Use a set of
keyboard/mouse to control the remote computer or IR to remotely connect the device.
Incorporating the latest HDMI®technology, Pacific X-HDU can simultaneously support HDMI and DVI
(via optional DVI-to-HDMI adapter) output. VESA DDC, Hot-Plug Detect (HPD), and HDCP 1.3
specification are compliant as well. It is also capable of support for 10-bit deep color.
The Pacific X-HDU supports stereo audio output for monitoring (audio in PCM output). Dolby®TrueHD
and DTS-HD master audio pass-through are supported as well.
Moreover, Avitech Hook Utility* (patent pending) can be utilized with Pacific X-HDU to control the remote
computer easily. In the meantime, Pacific X-HDU is capable of working with Sequoia solo series and
Avitech Hook Utility for extending the multiviewing application.
1. Non-standard keyboards (e.g., keyboard with driver installation or programmable keyboard) are not
supported. Keyboard with USB hub feature is supported but without hub function.
2. Avitech Hook Utility currently supports the Sequoia solo series and Pacific X-HDU. When a laptop or
desktop computer is connected to Sequoia solo series or Pacific X-HDU, it can be used to simulate a
keyboard and mouse for processing remote control function (KVM feature).
3. Refer to the Avitech Hook Utility’s user manual for more details.
