10.1 Step-by-step installation guide
In order to install this product correctly, please follow the steps below:
1. Find a desired location for measuring the water level e.g. beneath the chamber lid.
NOTE: Make sure to mount the level sensor pointing towards the surface where level
measuring is desired.
2. Make sure that the transmitter, wires and sensor are placed without interrupting the
operation of valves or similar.

measured values with five minutes resolution. In case an alarm is detected (tamper or battery
alarm), an additional data package is sent immediately.
10.3 Activation/deactivation
Transmitters are shipped with radio mode off. Once the installation of the transmitter is
complete, the transmitter must be activated. This is done by using an Android (5.0 or later
version) phone with NFC interface (E.g. Samsung S10e).

Download the application from Google Play store. If the application is hard to find, it is
recommended to search for “VIDI Tool ASW” in the search bar on Google Play store. The
application icon should look like the icon shown below:
Open the app and place the phone at the NFC symbol on the VIDI Transmitter like illustrated
below.
NOTE If the phone does not connect to the device, adjust the phone’s position a bit and try
again.
To activate the radio, press “ACTIVATE” without moving the phone from the NFC symbol on
the Smart Positioner. To disable the radio, press “DEACTIVATE”.

Deactivating the radio after it have been connected to the network, will reset the uplink
counter in the device and might cause some loss of data packages. This is only regarding
devices connected to a LoRa network.
The device information will be displayed on the phone’s display:
10.1 App features
The application has different actions when the radio is activated which is described in this
section.
Read distance:
This button allows the user to read a local distance measurement immediately, once pressed.
The returned value is from 0 –100% which corresponds to the total range of the level sensor
(example: The measured value on the phone’s display shows 50.0 and using a level sensor
0…5 meter the real distance value is 2,5 meters). During field testing and device setup check
this feature can be helpful.
Show status:
This button allows the user to see the status of the device. Once pressed, the user will get
access to functions such as type, radio, serial no., and battery condition. To make a device
condition check, this feature can be useful.
