Toreventnetworkeavesdroing,therootasswordcanbesetviaanencrytedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS
certicate.HTTPS(HyertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isarotocolusedtoencryttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The
HTTPScerticateensuresencrytedexchangeofinformation.SeeHTTPonpage46.
Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootisermanentandcannotbedeleted.Iftheasswordforrootislost,theroductmustbe

Selecttheowerlinefrequency(50Hzor60Hz)usedatthelocationoftheAxisroduct.Selectingthewrongfrequencymaycause
imageickeriftheroductisusedinuorescentlightenvironments.
Whenusing50Hz,themaximumframerateislimitedto25fs.

Powerlinefrequencyvariesdeendingongeograhicregion.TheAmericasusuallyuse60Hz,whereasmostotherartsof
theworlduse50Hz.Localvariationscouldaly.Alwayscheckwiththelocalauthorities.
PTZMode
PTZmodeissetthersttimetheAxisroductisaccessedandcanonlybechangedbyresettingtheroducttofactorydefault.
DigitalPTZisthedefaultmodeandshouldbeusedwhenaan/tiltmotorisnotused.
Ifthecameraismountedtoaan/tiltmotor,selectUploadablePTZdriver.ForinformationabouthowtouloadaPTZdriver,see
HowtoinstallaPTZdriveronpage35.
Congurecapturemode
CaturemodedenesthemaximumresolutionandmaximumframerateavailableintheAxisroduct.Thecaturemodesettingalso
affectsthecamera’sangleofview.
Selectthedesiredcaturemodefromthedro-downlistandclickOK.
Ifyouselectanothercaturemodethandefault,theroductneedstorebootforthechangestotakeeffect.

H.264can,withoutcomromisingimagequality,reducethesizeofadigitalvideolebymorethan80%comaredwiththeMotion
