Outdoor Camera Setup

The AyrScout™ Outdoor
Camera includes the
following parts:
CAMERA BODY
ANTENNA MOUNTING BASE
POWER SUPPLY ETHERNET CABLE

While the AyrScout Camera can withstand moisture and cold temperatures, you’ll want to position
it so the “window” on the front stays dry.
Assemble the Camera
1.) Screw the antenna onto the antenna mount on the back of the camera.
What you’ll need:
1.) AyrScout™ Camera
2.) AyrMesh™ Router
3.) Computer or tablet device on your
local network
4.) Drill and/or screwdriver for
mounting
Planning your installation
You can use the AyrScout Camera connected
by WiFi to an AyrMesh Hub or to an AyrMesh
Router. The Camera can also be connected with
an Ethernet cable to an AyrMesh Remote Hub
or an AyrMesh Router. If you use the AyrScout
Camera with the AyrMesh Router (instead of an
AyrMesh Hub), make sure the AyrMesh Router is
configured to get its SSID and WPA Passkey from
ayrmesh.com.
The AyrScout Camera can be mounted on any
flat surface with the mounting bracket included.
Third-party mounting brackets can provide even
more flexibility.

2.) Connect the Camera to the Power Supply – we usually put a loose overhand knot in the cable
to keep the plug from being accidentally pulled out.
Configure the Camera
1.) Connect an Ethernet cable between the camera and your AyrMesh Router or AyrMesh
Remote Hub.
2.) Plug the Power supply
into wall power. If you
are going to use the
camera “cabled” to the
Hub or Router, you are
done. If you are going
to use the Camera’s
WiFi connection,
leave the camera for
at least 10 minutes to
make sure it is fully
configured.

Mount the camera and put it into service:
1.) Unplug the camera and take it to where you’ll be using it.
2.) Assemble the Mounting base by screwing the bottom onto the linkage.
3.) Attach the Mounting base to the camera. Snug the plastic nut up against the camera.
4.) Attach the Mounting Base to a solid object: wall, floor, rafters, etc. with at least two screws.
Note that the “visor” can easily be removed if desired.

5.) Plug the power supply into the wall or extension cord (must be dry).
The camera will show up on your ayrmesh.com account in 10 minutes
or so. From a computer, log in to your ayrmesh.com account. Note that
the username and password you log in with at ayrmesh.com are also the
username and password needed to log in to your camera(s). To log in to the
camera, begin at the first page of ayrmesh.com and Click on the Internal (LAN)
Link. A login menu for your camera will appear. Log in to the camera using
your ayrmesh.com username and password and click on Live Video to see the
picture from the camera. Adjust the Camera and Mounting Base so you see
exactly what you want to see.
If you are away from home and your AyrMesh network, you can still view
the AyrScout Indoor Camera. Instead of clicking on the Internal Link at
ayrmesh.com, click on the External Link. Again, use your ayrmesh.com
username and password to log in to your camera.
Notes:
Reset procedure: If you need
to reset the camera back to its
“Factory Defaults,” just hold
the reset button down for 20-30
seconds (until the lights on the
Ethernet jack both go out).
The camera will reboot back to
its default settings, and you can
re-connect it to the AyrMesh
router for configuration.
