1. Introduction
Congratulations to the purchase of the
Keyboard BuKee!
The BuKee can be used for all devices supporting
external Bluetooth® keyboards –irrespective of the
used operating system (Windows XP, Windows Vista,
Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, MacOS, dierent avors of
Linux, Android, iOS).
Some special features of this keyboard are its robust
design, the wireless communication with the computer
or device, and its compact size. It also oers additional,
useful keys and functions, normally only known from
notebook keyboards. This manual will provide a guide
to get most out of the new keyboard. The Bluetooth®
3.0 keyboard does not have a numeric keypad, thereby
allowing for a more compact design.
Please keep in mind to buy a keyboard with the correct
country-specic layout.Thereby it’s easier for you to use
it and you’ll not be faced with diculties of adaptation.

2. System requirements
t A device supporting the usage of an external Bluetooth® keyboard
t Correct Bluetooth® functionality
t Support of the bought keyboard layout by the operating system for
a convenient use
t iPad/iPod touch/iPhone (at least iOS 4)
t iMac/Macbook (at least OS X 10.2.8)
Please keep in mind:
Not all function keys can be used with all operating systems.
The keyboard can be used with the following operating systems:
t Windows XP
t Windows Server 2003
t Windows Server 2008
t Windows Vista
t Windows 7
t Windows 8/8.1
t MacOS with at least OS X 10.2.8 (Macbook, iMac, cannot be used with Mac Mini)
t Dierent avors of Linux
t Smartphones with at least Android 3.0
t iPad/iPod touch/iPhone (iOS 7 not fully supported, Hotkeys for viewing photos
and searching are not working)
Please keep in mind:
Most old devices don’t support Bluetooth® keyboards. Please refer to the
manual of the system and/or the BIOS, to evaluate the possibility to use a
Bluetooth® keyboard.

4. Installation of the keyboard
The new keyboard as all other Bluetooth® devices has to be coupled with the
computer or the smartphone. We describe this procedure in the following for the
most common operating systems.
Please also refer to the manual of your device and/or operating system concerning
the usage of the Bluetooth® devices. Depending on the used operating system and
the keyboard layout you might need to explicitly select this layout.
Windows XP and Windows Vista
t Insert the batteries into the keyboard
t Switch on the keyboard
t Press the“connect”button on the back of the keyboard
`The LED is ashing blue
`The keyboard is prepared for the connection
t Open the control panel:
`Windows XP: Start Settings à Control panel
`Windows Vista: Start Control panel
t Click to‘Add device’
`The search is starting automatically
t Select the Bluetooth® keyboard
t Click to‘Continue’
t A code for the coupling is shown
t Type this code on the keyboard and press‘Enter’in the end
`The Bluetooth® keyboard is now paired
t Close the assistant by clicking to‘Close’
All keys should be working correctly right away, if the new layout is identical
to the old one.

t Click to ‘Congure Bluetooth® device’ (if this is not possible, you need to switch
on the Bluetooth® functionality by selecting ‘Activate Bluetooth®’)
t The computer searches for new Bluetooth® devices
t Select the Bluetooth® keyboard
t A code for the coupling is shown
t Type this code on the keyboard and press‘Enter’in the end
`The Bluetooth® keyboard is now paired
t Close the assistant by clicking to‘Finish’
All keys should be working correctly right away, if the new layout is identical
to the old one.
Android devices
t Insert the batteries into the keyboard
t Switch on the keyboard
t Press the“connect”button on the back of the keyboard

t Switch on Bluetooth® functionality of your Android device
t Select ‘Search’
t Select the found Bluetooth® keyboard
t A small box will appear asking you to pair your device with the Bluetooth®
keyboard
t Type the code on the keyboard and press‘Enter’in the end

t You will shortly see a ‘coupled’ notice
All keys should be working correctly right away; there is no need to change

Changing the keyboard’s mode (Android/Windows/Apple)
The BuKee keyboard has 3 dierent modes for the dierent devices it can be used
with. The modes are Apple (for Macs, iPhones and iPads), Android (for Android
smartphones and tablets), and Windows (for Windows PCs).
You can easily switch them:
t For switching to the Apple mode press

Please keep in mind: We do not encourage you to use a keyboard with a layout
dierent from the country-specic or the original one as this could lead to diculties
in adaption and to a productivity loss.
Please also refer to the manual of the computer and/or the operating system as we
only provide a short general overview of the needed steps. The presented approach
should allow you to deal with keyboard mapping issues.
The two main keyboard layout groups are: QWERTY (e.g. US layout) and QWERTZ

To enable the language bar, proceed as follows:
t Open the control panel
t Click on‘Regional and language options’
t Change to the tab‘languages’
t Click to ’details’in the ‘text services and input languages’section
t Change to‘language bar’ (could be found in the‘settings’section)
t Activate the check-box‘show language bar on the desktop’
t Close all dialog windows by clicking to‘OK’
t Continue as described in case 1

t The directly opening dialog, ‘text services and input languages’ shows to
you all actually available keyboard layouts/languages of the computer (you
can add new one be clicking to ‘Add’)
t You can choose the preferred keyboard layout by using the dropdown list
t Please close all opened dialog windows by clicking to ‘OK’

t Click to‘properties’
t Choose‘input indicator’ from the list of system symbols and enable it
t Continue as described in case 1
To add the needed language, proceed as follows:

Also Mac OS X supports dierent key mapping for installed keyboards. Similar
to the various Windows variants, there is also a language bar used for setting
the keyboard mapping.
When you connect the keyboard to your Macintosh, the computer is detecting
it telling you to help him with the identication. The used routine is self-
explaining:

If the keyboard doesn’t have the standard country-specic or a layout dierent to the
one, which you used before, you might still need to change the keyboard mapping.
To do so, you rst need to check, if this language bar is visible (as shown in the gure).
It’s showing a small ag of the country of the keyboard mapping.

t If you don’t see the language bar, it’s either
not activated or only one keyboard layout is
installed. Please follow the next steps to activate
it and/or install the needed additional layouts.

t After storing the settings and closing of the windows, you’ll see the ag of
the language bar and you can change to your preferred keyboard layout
Using the additional function keys

mapped with additional functions useful to enhance the productivity. Please
keep in mind: Not all function keys and keyboard functions cannot be used with
all platforms and operating systems.
