Thank you for purchasing The Leash static
audio load. This unique device allows you

Operating Manual
THE LEASH
MODEL THE LEASH PEDAL:
Armed with Bad Cat’s proprietary Innite Volume Control The Leash provides seamless
volume selection across your ampliers power section. Unlike the attenuators of days
gone by, The Leash will not tame your highs, choke your midrange, nor rob you of your
bass. Whether engaged, or switched to bypass. The Leash is virtually invisible to your
ears, even as you increase or decrease your volume. From growl to prowl, its as simple as
a twist of a knob, in fact that is all there is, one knob! You can reap all of your tube amps
potential without the fear of clicks, pops, radical volume changes, or unwanted noises
whatsoever. From bedroom rockers to the working Cats, the Leash will provide you with
all of your tone at any volume, no compromises!
Previously players had to purchase a different attenuator if they owned cabinets with vari-
ous ohm loads. Not with the Leash, you are free to select between 4, 8, or 16 ohm loads!
The Leash also features dual inputs for your stack ampliers, as well our A/C powered
internal fan cooling, which will ensure a rock solid performance.

HELP SECTION
1) AMP WILL NOT TURN ON
Check the power to the amp. Check for tripped circuit breakers, unplugged extension
cords or power-strip switches that may be turned off. Check the fuse. If a dark brownish
color or no wire can be seen within the glass tube, then replace. The amp may be perfectly
ne but occasionally a fuse may blow because of high AC voltage surges. After the fuse
has been replaced with the proper Slow Blow value and if the fuse fails again, the amp
will require servicing.
2) NO OUTPUT with POWER light ON
Tubes damaged in shipping will be the primary reason for your amp to not function
properly. Please give us a call to help guide you through this simple repair.
3) KEEP YOUR AMP LOOKING NEW
Use a damp cloth to wipe the controls on the front & rear chassis panels.Wipe the black
vinyl covering with a damp cloth.

Operation
The Leash is easy to use. Just follow these simple steps for years of trouble-free service. Your equipment should be “OFF” while connecting. Plug your
amplier into the jack marked “AMP” and your speaker into the jack marked “SPEAKER”. Now, turn on your amplier. The In/Out switch is true-bypass.
There is a small amount of insertion loss when switching the device “In” (typically1db). Set the Ohms selector to match the output impedance of your
amplier and the Ohms rating of your speaker. Using a mismatched load will result in degraded performance. For best results in any case, always match
the Ohms selector to the amplier. To help with Ohms calculation, the two speaker jacks are wired in parallel (for use with additional cabinets). The
large knob on the front controls your overall balance between speaker load, from whisper quiet to maximum loudness. The Leash dissipates unused
audio power by converting it to heat. An AC power cord operates a cooling fan located at the top of the housing. This fan allows The Leash to operate at
maximum efciency under all playing conditions. To prevent damage to The Leash or your amplier, it is absolutely essential that the onboard cooling
fan be operating whenever The Leash is in use.
