COMMISSION OF VIBRATION METER
4.1. Operation conditions of vibration meter
• environmental temperature, °С - from 0 to +50
• relative humidity at 25 °С: to 95%
4.2. Setting-up procedures
4.2.1. and exterior check of xture
To unpack the xture you just need to draw it out of the
packing cartoon.
Before starting the measurements it is necessary to make
exterior check of the xture on absence of mechanical damages
and contaminations.
To check the delivery set of the xture according to division 3.3.
«Structure of vibration meter».
In the presence of contaminations it is necessary to make
technical service according to division 5 of the present OM.
7
4
ATTENTION
In the presence of any mechanical damages please make
sure that they do not inuence on xture reading, otherwise
send the xture for repair.
4.2.2. Sensor installation
Vibration meter BALTECH VP-3410 uses an acceleration sensor,
which is connected to the electronic xture with a help of low-
noise cable.
Sensor installation on the object is done with the help of magnet
clamp, shipped with the sensor.
The place of installation need to be cleaned
and put consistent lubricant for resonance
lowering. (Pic. 4-1)

4.3. Application of vibration meter
Before making measurements make sure that the battery is not
discharged. If it is necessary, change the battery according to
division 5.1.
4.3.1. Measurement mode
Press the button «A•V•S» for the choice of measurement mode
(Pic. 3-2): acceleration, velocity or displacement. Selected
measurement mode is indicated by arrow in the right part of the
screen. (Pic. 4-3).
8
ATTENTION
Before sensor installation it is necessary to remove chip
shield.
ATTENTION
Before operation please make sure that the sensor rmly
connected to magnet clamp.
NOTE
The vibration meter switches off automatically in a minute
without pressing the button of measurement.

4.3.3. Execution of measurements
To carry out the following measurements:
1. Press and withhold the measurement button during
several seconds, after that the vibration meter is ready for
measurement;
2. Install a sensor on measurement point. Press
measurement button and withhold it. Upon that on the
screen it will appear the result of measurement.
3. Release the measurement button. The measured value
will be on the screen, and you can read and record it.
4. Press the measurement button for further measurements.
MAINTENANCE SUPPORT OF VIBRATION
METER
It is necessary to keep vibration meter VP-3410 clean, not to
allow severe contamination. If there any contaminations on the
electronic unit, then one should wipe it with wet nap.
5.1. Replacement of batteries
If while operation with the xture it will appear a message
«BAT» and it means that battery supply is very low, it is
necessary to replace battery.
For replacement of battery (Pic. 5-1):
Step 1 Open the battery pack;
Step 2 Insert the battery type D in accordance with
markings of battery polarity;
Step 3 Close the battery pack.
10
ATTENTION
The sensor must be reliably connected with measured object,
otherwise the results of measurement can be inaccurate.
