SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the
following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. This appliance must be properly installed and located in accordance with these
instructions prior to use.
3. This appliance is intended for adults of legal drinking age. This appliance is not
intended for use by children or by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
5. To protect against a risk of electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or base in
water or other liquid.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning or maintenance. To unplug,
grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply cord
replacement and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or

8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
10. Only use the bottles provided with your cocktail machine. The use of accessory
attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause
injuries.
11. Do not use a broken, chipped, or cracked spirit bottle.
12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
13. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To
disconnect, put appliance to “Sleep“, then remove plug from wall outlet.
14. Water reservoir is for water only. Do not fill with any other liquid. Do not overfill the
water reservoir with water.
15. Use lid handle to open the lid. Do not lift the lid handle when a drink is being
prepared.
16. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
17. CAUTION: The machine has two sharp needles that puncture the cocktail capsule;
one above the capsule holder, and the other in the bottom of the capsule holder. To
avoid risk of injury, do not put your fingers in the removable capsule holder or under
lid.
18. Use only with the power supply cord provided with the appliance. Do not attempt
to use the power supply with any other products. Replacement and repairs must be
conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
19. Only use cocktail capsules sold or recommended by the appliance manufacturer.

The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming
tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension
cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater
than the rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounding type, the extension cord
should be a grounding-type, 3-wire cord. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so
that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
accidentally tripped over.
If using an extension cord, it should be connected to the unit’s power cord before it is plugged
into the outlet. In the case of a power failure, the same procedure should be followed.

1. Remove the Water Reservoir from the Base and fill with water only. Do not fill with
mixes, juices, club soda or other liquid. Cocktail Machine will stop working and void
warranty if other liquids are used.
NOTE: Because water quality varies, use bottled or filtered water for the best-tasting
premium cocktails.
2. Place Water Reservoir in Base.
3. Insert Removable Power Cord end into Power Cord Port in back of Base.
4. Plug into outlet. After 5 seconds, press the Control Panel, rotate Selector Dial, or open
and close the Lid Handle to wake up the Cocktail Machine. Initial Setup screen will be
displayed.
5. Follow the instructions for ”Initial Setup“on page 7 before continuing.
6. Before first use, out of the box, follow the directions on page 11 on ”How to Rinse“
() and ”How to Transport“ ( ).
7. Center an 8-ounce (237 mL) container under Dispenser.
8. Go to the First Use () function in the function Menu ( ), then press the Control
Panel and follow prompts to prime water line.
9. Fill each Spirit Bottle with your favorite spirits. Place the lid
inside the collar and screw Lids securely in place.
GETTING STARTED
Important Instructions Before First Use
Remove Cocktail Machine and components from box and place on a flat, sturdy surface.
Wash all removable parts following “Care and Cleaning“ instructions.
Since the mixers in the Cocktail Capsules are concentrated, all drinks are mixed with
water to deliver the optimal flavor. Before using the Cocktail Machine, the water line
needs to be primed.
10. Align arrow on Spirit Bottle Collar with corresponding
liquor on Spirit Bottle Collar Band.
11. Tip Spirit Bottles upside down and insert into Port 1 or
Port 2 as indicated on Display. Spirit Bottles will fit securely
when in place. NOTE: The Cocktail Machine will prompt
you to switch bottles if necessary for your cocktail. It is
very important to put the Spirit Bottles in the correct Spirit
Bottle Port as indicated on Display. If in the wrong position,
the finished cocktail will be incorrectly mixed.

Initial Setup
Tip: V–Vodka, T–Tequila, R–Rum, G–Gin, W–Whiskey.
When the unit is first plugged into the power supply, the
“Initial Setup” screen will display. The screen will allow
you to set which spirits are loaded onto the Base. The
default spirits are Vodka in Port 1 and Tequila in Port 2. If
default spirits are correct, press Accept.
To change a spirit at initial setup, select which port you
want to change by rotating the Selector Dial, then select
the spirit you want to use. After selection is made, the
“Accept” screen is displayed. Press Accept.
Once the setup has been accepted, the Home screen will be displayed. The Home
screen will show the updated spirit selection until the unit is unplugged.

Getting to Know Your Control Panel
Selector Dial – Use the Selector Dial to see options, then
press the Control Panel to select the option.
Home Screen – The Home Screen will show the capsule
highlighted, indicating that the unit is ready to make a
drink.
By rotating the Selector Dial you can access the function
Menu ( ).
Continue to rotate the Selector Dial to put the unit to sleep ( ).
The Home screen will display the spirits that are programmed to Ports 1 and 2.
Review the cocktail capsule packaging to verify correct spirits are loaded onto the
machine. If a different spirit is needed for a new cocktail, select the port you want
to change and follow the instructions for ”How to Switch Spirits“.

GETTING STARTED
Home Screen
After the Initial Setup is completed, the Home screen is the initial instruction screen
that is displayed after the product logo. From the Home screen, you can make a
drink, go to the function Menu ( ), put the unit to sleep, or change a spirit in either
of the ports. After pouring a drink or performing a function, the Cocktail Machine
will automatically return to the Home screen. Home ( ) can be selected at any
time when the Home icon is shown.
Sleep – Sleep mode is a low power mode; this will
allow the user to avoid having to wait for the machine
to reboot. The Cocktail Machine will automatically go
into sleep mode after 30 minutes if Control Panel is not
pressed. To wake up Cocktail Machine, press Control
Panel, rotate Selector Dial, or open and close the Lid.
Menu
The function Menu ( ) provides quick access to the
available functions, which include the following options:
First Use, Rinse, Transport and Home. To go to function
Menu ( ) rotate Selector Dial until menu icon is
highlighted and press Menu. To select one of the of the
function Menu options, rotate Selector Dial and press
First Use ( ), Rinse ( ), Transport ( ), or Home ( ).
First Use ( ) – The First Use function primes Cocktail Machine with water to
ensure machine will pump spirits and water. Follow “Important Instructions Before
First Use“ on page 6.
Rinse ( ) – It is recommended to use the Rinse function if Cocktail Machine will
not be used for an extended period of time. Follow instructions for “How to Rinse “
on page 11 .
Transport ( ) – The Cocktail Machine should be emptied when it is transported,
or if it will not be used for a long period of time. This function will purge all spirits
and water from system. Follow instructions for “How to Transport“ on page 11.
Home ( ) – Select Home ( ) to return to Home screen at any time.

How to Switch Spirits

Before making a cocktail, check to see if you have the correct spirits installed on the
base. If the new cocktail uses a spirit not displayed on the Home screen, follow the
instructions below for changing the spirit.
1. Place a glass under the Dispenser. From the Home
screen, rotate the Selector Dial to highlight the Spirit
Port to be changed.

2. Follow the prompts to remove the old spirit and
purge the line of spirits.
3. Rotate Selector Dial until the correct spirit is shown
in the highlighted circle. Press Next and follow
prompts to insert the new bottle. When operation
is complete, screen will go back to Home. From the
Home screen, you are ready to make your cocktail.
4. If you have punctured a capsule with the incorrect
spirit set in the Cocktail Machine, you will see a
prompt indicating that you do not have the correct
spirit to make the Cocktail correctly. Follow the
prompts to reset the Spirit Bottle Port to change the
spirit.
NOTE: In this case, the Cocktail Machine will NOT
purge the old spirit. A small amount of the previous
spirit will be included in your cocktail.
IMPORTANT: This Cocktail Machine can only make
cocktails with up to 2 spirits. If the cocktail requires
more than 2 spirits, the cocktail will NOT be poured.

How to Make Cocktails
1. Press Control Panel, rotate Selector Dial, or open and
close the Lid Handle to wake up machine. Lift Lid Handle
and insert a Cocktail Capsule in Capsule Holder with tab
facing front center position.
2. Lower Handle and press firmly until latch is in the fully
closed position.
NOTE: Once Capsule is punctured, the drink must be
made. The contents of the Capsule will drain if removed
from Holder before finishing drink.
3. Barcode Reader will recognize cocktail. Display will
indicate what type of glass to place under Dispenser,
and if ice is recommended. Drinks may also be
dispensed into a Shaker. After placing the appropriate
drink ware, press Next on Control Panel.
IMPORTANT: If Home screen is displayed after
puncturing Capsule, open Lid and wipe top of Capsule
and Barcode Reader with a soft, dry cloth and close Lid.
NOTE: If the spirit needed to make the cocktail is not
set in the program, machine will prompt to switch Spirit
Bottle in your choice of Spirit Bottle Port.
4. Rotate Selector Dial to see choices of strength:
Mocktail, Light, Regular, or Strong. Refer to Cocktail
Capsule Packaging to understand strength for each
cocktail. When desired strength is visible in display,
press Mix to select that strength.
5. Cocktail Machine will dispense appropriate spirit,
contents of Capsule, and water. Control Panel will show
a circle that tracks progress. Bubbles will appear in Spirit
Bottle as spirit is being dispensed.
6. Once drink is complete, lift Lid Handle to remove
Cocktail Capsule and dispose of recyclable container.
Cocktail Machine is ready for next drink.
NOTE: When finished making cocktails, remove Water
Reservoir and discard water, then replace Reservoir
on Base. Remove Capsule Holder and rinse with warm
water to remove residue. Using a damp cloth, wipe
underside of Lid and surrounding area before replacing
Capsule Holder.

How to Rinse
To reduce the buildup of sugar residue from the Spirits in the internals of the Cocktail
Machine, if not used regularly, it is recommended to empty Spirit Bottles and
complete a Rinse ( ) cycle after use.
1. Remove Spirit Bottles and return spirits back to original bottle or a suitable container.
2. Wash and rinse Water Reservoir and Spirit Bottles, then fill with water.
3. Place Spirit Bottle Lids on Bottles and screw Lids securely in place.
4. Insert the Water Reservoir and water-filled bottles in the two Spirit Bottle Ports.
5. Place a 10-ounce (296 mL) or larger container under Dispenser on Bar Mat.
6. On Control Panel, access the function Menu ( ).
7. Rotate Selector Dial to Rinse ( ) and press the button.
Follow prompts. You may also select back ( ) to go back
to the function Menu screen, or Home ( ).
8. When operation is complete, screen will go back to
Home.
9. To remove water from the Spirit lines, remove Water
Reservoir and water-filled Spirit Bottles. Rotate Selector
Dial and press Transport ( ), then follow prompts.

How to Transport
If the Cocktail Machine will not be used for a few months or if it is moved to a
different location, remove water and spirits from the machine. It is recommended to
follow instructions for Rinse ( ) before the Transport ( ) function.
1. Follow the instructions in “How to Rinse.“
2. Remove Water Reservoir and Spirit Bottles. Place container under Dispenser.
3. On Control Panel, access the function Menu.
4. Rotate Selector Dial to Transport ( ) and press.
5. The screen will display a reminder to run the First
Use function when using the Bartesian again. Press
Next and purging of spirit lines will start. Cocktail
Machine will automatically remove remaining water
and spirit from lines.
6. When operation is complete, screen will go back to
Home.
Upon arrival at new

wWARNING Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not
immerse cord, plug, or base in any liquid.
1. Unplug Cocktail Machine.
2. Remove Bar Mat and Removable Water Reservoir.
3. Wipe outside surface of machine with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Dry
surface with a clean cloth.
4. Wash Bar Mat in hot, soapy water. Rinse and air-dry.
5. Capsule Holder, Spirit Bottles with Lid, and Water
Reservoir are dishwasher safe. DO NOT use
“SANITIZE” setting when washing in dishwasher.
SANITIZE cycle temperatures could damage your
product.
CARE AND CLEANING
Cleaning Cocktail Machine
1. To remove Capsule Holder, lift Lid Handle. Push
Capsule Holder from bottom center to pop out.
CAUTION: The Capsule Holder contains a sharp
needle that punctures the Cocktail Capsule. To avoid
risk of injury, do not put your fingers inside the
Capsule Holder.

6. Lift Lid Handle. Wipe Barcode Reader with a damp
cloth.

2. Carefully pull down on Removable Capsule Seal to
clean. Wash in hot, soapy water and rinse. This part
must be reinstalled before making cocktails.
CAUTION: The Capsule Seal surrounds a sharp
needle that punctures the Cocktail Capsule. To avoid
risk of injury, do not put your fingers on the needle.
3. Capsule Holder, Spirit Bottles with Lid, and Water
Reservoir are dishwasher-safe.
4. Remove Duck-Bill Valve from Spirit Lid Center.
5. Squeeze Duck-Bill Valve to open mouth and free
any buildup. Rinse and dry. Ensure part is properly
inserted onto Spirit Lid Center before use. Not
having Duck-Bill Valve in place will cause spirits to
leak.
6. Wash all removable parts in hot, soapy water. Rinse
and air-dry.

Troubleshooting
TROUBLESHOOTING
Cocktail Machine does not have power.
• Ensure unit is plugged into a working outlet.
• Ensure Removable Power Cord is plugged into Power Cord Port on back of unit.
Cocktail Machine will not make drinks.
• Check to see if “ADD WATER“ is displayed on Control Panel. If so, add water to
Water Reservoir and press Next.
• Check that Cocktail Capsule is properly placed in Capsule Holder.
• Open Lid. Using a soft, dry cloth wipe off top of Cocktail Capsule and Barcode
Reader under Lid. Close and latch Lid. Check Display on Control Panel.
Spirit/water flows over the Capsule.
• Ensure Removable Capsule Seal is in place on upper needle. Close Lid and
make sure Lid is latched and locked in place.
Cocktail Machine will not pump alcohol.
• Check if Spirit Bottle is placed in correct Spirit Bottle Port.
• Clean Spirit Bottle Lids.
• Follow “Important Instructions Before First Use.“
• Clean Duck-Bill Valve. Follow Steps 4 and 5 of “Cleaning Removable Parts.“
The Cocktail Machine does not respond or recognize when a Cocktail Capsule has
been inserted.
• Open Lid. Using a soft, dry cloth, wipe off the top of Cocktail Capsule and
Barcode Reader under Lid. Close and latch Lid. Check Display on Control Panel.
• Ensure that Lid is properly latched.
Lid will not close with Cocktail Capsule installed.
• Make sure you are pushing down on Handle when closing Lid.
• Open Lid, reposition Cocktail Capsule, and try again. Ensure that Cocktail
Capsule is installed correctly. See “How to Make Cocktails“.
Cocktail tastes different.
• Ensure that correct Spirit Bottle is in correct Spirit Bottle Port.
• Use filtered or bottled water in Water Reservoir.
Spirit Bottle Leaks.
• Ensure Lid Seal Gasket is correctly in place with “rib“ facing out.
• Ensure Spirit Bottle Lid is properly seated on Spirit Bottle.
• Ensure Duck-Bill Valve is fully pushed onto Spirit Bottle Lid.

This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada.
This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other
warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this
period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or any
component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible
for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a
product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component
is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater
value.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in
conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from
accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original
consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof
of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the
product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any
voltage and waveform other than as specified on the rating label (e.g., 120 V ~
60 Hz).
We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages
caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the
amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory
warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose,
is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such
warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal rights
that vary depending on where you live. Some states or provinces do not
allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential
damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.

11. Ne pas utiliser une bouteille de spiritueux si elle est brisée, ébréchée ou fissurée.
12. Ne pas placer l’appareil sur ou près d’une cuisinière électrique ou à gaz ou dans un
four chaud.
13. Veuillez toujours brancher la fiche dans l’appareil en premier et brancher ensuite le
cordon d’alimentation dans la prise murale. Pour débrancher, appuyer sur le bouton
« Sleep » (veille) et retirer ensuite la fiche de la prise murale.
14. Le réservoir d’eau ne doit contenir que de l’eau. Ne pas le remplir avec tout autre
liquide. Ne pas trop remplir le réservoir d’eau avec de l’eau.
15. Utiliser la poignée du couvercle pour ouvrir le couvercle. Ne pas soulever la poignée
du couvercle lors de la préparation d’une boisson.
16. N’utiliser cet appareil que pour les fonctions auxquelles il est destiné.
17. ATTENTION : La machine est équipée de deux aiguilles très pointues pour percer les
capsules de cocktail. Une par-dessus le support à capsule et l’autre dans le fond du
support à capsule. Pour éviter le risque de blessure, ne mettez pas vos doigts dans le
support à capsule amovible ou sous le couvercle.
18. Utiliser seulement avec le cordon d’alimentation fourni avec l’appareil. Ne pas tenter
d’utiliser le cordon d’alimentation avec tout autre produit. Le remplacement et les
réparations doivent être effectués par le fabricant, un réparateur agréé, ou toute autre
personne possédant les mêmes qualifications afin d’éviter tout risque.

La longueur du cordon d’alimentation de cet appareil a été déterminée dans le but de
réduire le risque de s’emmêler ou de trébucher sur un long cordon. Si un cordon plus long
est nécessaire, utiliser seulement une rallonge électrique approuvée. Les caractéristiques
électriques de la rallonge électrique doivent être équivalentes ou supérieures aux
caractéristiques électriques de l’appareil. Si l’appareil nécessite une mise à la terre, le cordon
d’alimentation doit être de type de mise à la terre à trois fiches. Veiller à placer la rallonge
électrique avec soin de sorte qu’elle ne repose pas sur le dessus du comptoir ou de la table où
il est possible qu’elle soit tirée par un enfant ou que quelqu’un trébuche accidentellement.
Si vous utilisez une rallonge électrique, elle doit toujours être branchée à l’appareil en premier,
avant d’être branchée à la prise. En cas de rupture de courant, veuillez suivre le même
processus.

La machine Bartesian est destiné à être utilisé exclusivement par des adultes responsables
d’âge légal pour la consommation d’alcool dans leur pays et/ou leur état et/ou province
respectifs. Veuillez utiliser la machine Bartesian avec sagesse et responsabilité.
19. Utilisez uniquement les capsules de cocktail vendues ou recommandées par le
fabricant de l’appareil.

1. Enlevez le réservoir d’eau de la base et remplissez-le d’eau uniquement. Ne remplissez
pas avec des mélanges, des jus, du soda ou d’autres liquides. La machine cessera de
fonctionner et la garantie sera annulée si d’autres liquides sont utilisés. REMARQUE : En
raison de la variation de la qualité de l’eau du robinet, veuillez utiliser de l’eau filtrée ou de
l’eau en bouteille afin de réaliser des cocktails de saveur et de qualité supérieures.
2. Mettre le réservoir d’eau sur la base.
3. Insérer l’extrémité du cordon d’alimentation amovible dans le port du cordon
d’alimentation situé à l’arrière de la base.
4. Brancher dans la prise. Après 5 secondes, appuyez sur le panneau de commande,
tournez le cadran de réglage ou ouvrez et fermez la poignée du couvercle pour mettre en
marche la machine à cocktails. L’écran du réglage initial s’affichera.
5. Veuillez suivre les instructions concernant le réglage initial à la page 21 avant de
poursuivre.
6. Avant d’utiliser l’appareil pour la première fois, veuillez suivre les directives des pages 25
et 26, sous la rubrique « Comment effectuer le rinçage » ( ) et « Comment transporter»
().
7. Placez un contenant de 237 mL (8 oz) sous le distributeur.
8. Accéder à la fonction First Use (/première utilisation) du
menu des fonctions ( ), puis appuyer sur le Panneau de
commandes et suivre les invites concernant la conduite
d’eau principale.
9. Remplir chaque bouteille de spiritueux avec vos spiritueux
préférés. Placer le couvercle à l’intérieur pour la bague et
bien visser les couvercles en place.
POUR COMMENCER
Consignes importantes pour la première utilisation
Retirer la machine à cocktails et ses composants de la boîte et déposer sur une surface
plate et robuste. Laver toutes les pièces amovibles en suivant les instructions indiquées à la
section « Entretien et nettoyage ». Puisque les mélanges dans les capsules de cocktail sont
concentrés, tous les mélanges de boisson sont faits avec de l’eau afin d’offrir une saveur
optimale. Avant d’utiliser la machine à cocktails, la canalisation d’eau doit être préparée.
10. Aligner la flèche sur la bague de la bouteille de spiritueux
avec le spiritueux correspondant sur la bande pour la bague
de la bouteille de spiritueux.
11. Renverser les bouteilles de spiritueux à l’envers et les insérer
dans le réceptacle 1 ou 2 comme indiqué à l’écran. Les
bouteilles de spiritueux tiendront solidement en place si elles
sont bien placées. REMARQUE : La machine à cocktails vous
invitera à changer les bouteilles pour la préparation de votre
cocktail, si nécessaire. Il est important de placer les bouteilles
de spiritueux dans le bon réceptacle comme indiqué à
l’écran. Si elles ne sont pas dans le bon réceptacle, le cocktail
ne sera pas préparé de la bonne façon.
