The Heating Unit that you have chosen for your
installation will provide you with Central Heating
Service.
In this information we offer you the main features
of the appliance and the operations necessary
for its correct performance and maintenance.
Operation
Procedure prior to the first lighting
– Ensure that the system Flow and Return valves
(if any) are open.
– Check that the unit is full of water and place
the fixed hand of the thermohydrometer in the
position corresponding to the manometric head.
– Purgetheairfromtheunitandfromtheemitters.
– Refill with water if necessary, until the mobile
hand of the thermohydrometer is slightly higher
than the fixed one.
First Lighting
Note: The Neo-Tronic 2RS (LIDIA 20-25 GT EM)
light up 6 minutes after sensing demand for heat.
The Kadet-Tronic 5L and 10L, as well as later
ignitions of Neo-Tronic 2RS, start firing almost
immediately.
– Check the pump for correct operation and
unlock it, if necessary, by pressing a
screwdriver into the slot on the shaft-end and,
at the same time, turn it.
– Check the burner for correct operation.
– Check that there are no flue gas leaks and
that radiators reach the required temperature.
Central Heating Service
– Adjust the regulation thermostat to
approximately 80 °C. Check for correct
operationofboththisandthesafety thermostat.
– Flick the general voltage switch. The green
pilot will light up. The burner and the circulator
are working *.
* WithcontrolpanelsCC-158RandCC-159C,theoperation
of the burner and circulator depend on the programme
established in the clock or the outside temperature.
– Checkcorrect operationof both.Regulate theburner
according to the Instructions enclosed with it.
– Whenthe safety thermostathasbeen triggered,
remove its protector and press the switch.
– Purge and check, with the unit in operating
conditions, that the emitters reach the right
temperature.
– Checkthat there are no leaks ofcombustiongases.
– Check the burner’s safety elements. The red
pilot lights up if they are blocked.
Cleaning
The cleaner the boiler is kept, the lower fuel
consumption will be.
General cleaning should be carried out by a
qualified professional whenever necessary, but
at least once a year. This chapter lists the
operations that you may optionally do.
– Cut off the power and fuel supplies to the boiler.
– Pull the front casing panel until the snap-on
locating pins disengage from their slots (1) in
the control panel brackets. Lift off the cover
and detach it from the studs (4) situated in the
lower front part of the casing. Figg. 2 and 3.
– Undo the screw (3) which secures the burner
to the boiler cover (2) and withdraw the burner
from the boiler body. Fig. 2.
– Undo the 6 screws that secure the boiler cover
(2) and withdraw it from the boiler. Fig. 2.
– Protect the bottom of the combustion chamber
with paper, etc. and clean the flue passes and
the chamber with the brush provided.
– Remove the paper, etc. with the residues from
the bottom of the combustion chamber.
– Refit all the components in reverse order.
Maintenance
Maintenance operations must be performed by
a qualified Service Technician. They comprise,
at least, the following:
– Any modification and/or replacement of cables
and connections, excepting those for the
power supply and the room thermostat, should
be performed by a Baxi Calefacción Service
Technician.
– At the end of each heating season, or before a
long period of non-use, the boiler should be
thoroughly cleaned without letting the soot
harden.
– Check, at least once a year, the correct running
of all control and safety devices.
– Carry out, at least once a year, the operations
contained in the Instructions that come with
the burner.
– Clean the chimney at least once a year.
Important recommendations
– In case of long periods of non-use, the
installation must not be emptied.
– Water should be added to the system only
when it is absolutely necessary. This operation
should only be carried out when the water in
the boiler is cold.
– Frequent adding of water may give rise to
limescale build-up in the boiler, causing serious
damage, and at the same time reducing
efficiency.
Note:
Specifications and performance qualities are
subject to change without notice.
CE Marked
The LIDIA GT EM Heating Units are certified
to comply with the essential requirements of
the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
89/336/EEC, the Low Voltage Directive
73/23/EEC, and the Energy Efficiency
Directive 92/42/EEC and 97/23/EEC
Pressurized Equipaments, are therefore
permitted to carry the CE mark.
