Beam-Vehicle-WiFi
Whilst the Beam bw100 has a rugged enclosure, you should ensure
that it is securely mounted in a clean and dry place to prevent failure
through water or heat damage.
The Beam bw100 unit comes with mounting anges which can be used
to mount it securely to the bulkhead or within an equipment bay.
The Beam bw100 unit is powered from the vehicle’s electrical system,
supporting voltages between 11.8V and 27V. You should connect it to
a suitable auxiliary circuit which is live only when the master switch
is on to prevent draining of the vehicle’s battery. This is also ensures
that the Beam system software and mobile connection is reset and
restarted on a regular basis.
Power on the Beam bw100 unit via the vehicle’s master switch.
The unit will take about 2 minutes to start-up. You should then see the
SSID of the unit appear in your list of available Wi-Fi networks on your
device.
Connect to the Wi-Fi network - you should then be taken to the
onboard captive portal which will guide you through the connection
process, if there is an available data signal, you should now be able to
connect to the Internet.
The RED cable is connected to the vehicle’s positive (+12/24V) supply on
the preferred auxiliary circuit.
The BLACK cable is connected to the vehicle’s ground supply (0V).
WHEN INSTALLING YOUR BEAM BW100 ENSURE IT IS
SECURELY MOUNTED IN A DRY AREA WITHIN THE VEHICLE
DO NOT connect a power supply other than a 12/24 automotive
supply

Inserting a SIM Card
1. Undo the 12 screws located along the top edges of the
unit's sides.
2. Lift the lid off to access the modem inside.
3. Insert the SIM card into the slot on the side of the modem.
4. Replace lid and screws.
