Instructions for Use
Before First Use
When using this Conception Wall Fire for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is
normal and will subside after a few uses.
Place the Conception Wall Fire on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface at least 1 metre away from
furniture, curtains or any other flammable materials.
If placing the Conception Wall Fire in an alcove, make sure that there is at least 150 mm of space
on all sides, to ensure good air circulation.
The Conception Wall Fire must not be located over a mains power socket. The mains power
socket must always be accessible in order to disconnect the Conception Wall Fire from the
mains power supply for cleaning, maintenance or when replacing a bulb.
Wall Mounting the Conception Wall Fire
Installation of the Conception Wall Fire should be carried out by two people in order to avoid
injury, damage to the property or the fireplace.
STEP 1: Ensure that the Conception Wall Fire is unplugged from the mains power supply.
STEP 2: Open the fixing pack and place all of the contents into a container. This will reduce the
risk of losing any small pieces.
STEP 3: At the rear of the Conception Wall Fire at each side, there is a bracket (shown below).
These fire brackets engage behind the wall mounted brackets to provide a secure fixing method
that cannot be seen in normal use.
Hold the fireplace to the wall that it will be fixed to and using a pencil, mark the height of the
brackets at each side of the fire.
STEP 4: The wall bracket needs to be mounted approximately 30 mm inwards from the outer
edge of the fire surround to match the position of the fire brackets. Hold the wall brackets in
place and carefully mark the positions of the screw holes onto the wall.

STEP 5: Drill where the holes have been marked, then insert the wall plugs.
STEP 6: Screw the wall brackets into place.
STEP 7: Hold the Conception Wall Fire above the brackets, leaning it against the wall
for support.
STEP 8: Carefully lower the Conception Wall Fire onto the brackets.
Note: You will notice a slight gap behind the fireplace, this is normal as it is required for air ventilation.
Note: Do not cut the wire to fix the wiring to a wall socket, as this will invalidate your guarantee.
Mounting the Conception Wall Fire on a Separate Hearth
In order to avoid the possibility of the fire being accidentally lifted from its side mounting brackets
when the fire is mounted on a separate hearth, an additional bracket is provided.
These brackets engage behind the wall mounted brackets to provide a secure fixing method that
cannot be seen in normal use.

STEP 4: The wall bracket needs to be mounted approximately 30 mm inwards from the outer
edge of the fire surround. Hold the wall brackets in this position and carefully mark the
positions of the screw holes.
STEP 5: Drill where the holes have been marked, then insert the wall plugs.
STEP 6: Screw the wall brackets into place.
STEP 7: Hold the Conception Wall Fire above the brackets, leaning it against the wall for support.
STEP 8: Carefully lower the Conception Wall Fire onto the brackets so that the fireplace rests
on the hearth.
STEP 9: Using a pencil, draw a line approximately 100 mm along the wall against the edge of
the hearth, starting from the outer right hand side of the Conception Wall Fire. Repeat
this at the left side of the fire. This will mark the height of the hearth against the wall as
well as where the corners of the Conception Wall Fire will sit.
STEP 10: Remove the Conception Wall Fire by lifting it from the wall mounting brackets and
then remove the hearth.
STEP 11: Using the lines drawn onto the wall as a reference, drill a hole in the centre, 20 mm
below the base of the Conception Wall Fire.
STEP 12: Insert the wall plug into the hole.
STEP 13: On the Conception Wall Fire, insert the t-shaped bracket into the recess in the
bottom centre of the front panel. They should hang below the Conception Wall Fire.
STEP 13: Refit the Conception Wall Fire onto the wall brackets, ensuring that it does not drop
below the baseline previously marked.
STEP 14: Screw the t-shaped bracket to the wall.
STEP 15: Slide the hearth back into place underneath the Conception Wall Fire.
Note: It may be necessary to lift the fire slightly whist fitting the t-shaped bracket.

Installing the Pebbles
Remove the pebbles from the packaging.
Arrange them evenly on the translucent cover over the fire bowl.
If the pebbles do not let through an even amount of light once the Conception Wall Fire has
been turned on, turn off the Conception Wall Fire at the mains power supply, allow to cool
completely and then rearrange the pebbles on the translucent surface until the desired effect has
been reached.
Using the Conception Wall Fire
STEP 1: Plug the Conception Wall Fire into the mains power supply.
STEP 2: Turn on the Conception Wall Fire by pressing the ‘On/Off’ switch. This will also
operate the light.

STEP 4: Select the desired heat output by turning on one or both of the heat setting switches.
To operate the Conception Wall Fire at a low heat setting (1000 W), turn on the
‘Heating 1’ switch. To operate the Conception Wall Fire at a high heat setting, turn on
switches marked ‘Heating 1’ and ‘Heating 2’ together (2000 W).
Note: The Conception Wall Fire will only operate if the ‘Fan’ switch is turned on.
Note: Turning on the ‘Fan’ switch without turning on either of the ‘Heating’ switches will
operate the Conception Wall Fire without heat.
Note: Selecting the ‘Heating 2’ switch will have no effect on the Conception Wall Fire.

Thermal Cut-Out Device
This Conception Wall Fire is fitted with a thermal safety cut-out system, built-in to prevent
it overheating. Should the Conception Wall Fire start to overheat, the thermal safety cut-out
system will automatically operate and the Conception Wall Fire will switch off. The Conception
Wall Fire will only resume normal operation when it has cooled sufficiently.
When the thermal safety cut-out activates, the Conception Wall Fire should be left to cool for
approximately 15 minutes before using again.
Before turning the Conception Wall Fire back on, check that there is nothing obstructing the
airflow or blocking the air intake.
Bulb Replacement
Always unplug the Conception Wall Fire from the mains power supply and leave it to cool
completely before attempting to replace a bulb.
Remove the pebbles from the trim.
Loosen the two screws holding the semi-opaque cover in position and then remove the cover.
Remove the defective bulb by pulling it out of the holder. Replace with a 28 W 230 V SES E14 bulb.
Reassemble the Conception Wall Fire by fixing the semi-opaque cover back on and then
replacing the pebbles.
Note: Due to the indeterminate life span and the ease of replacement, the bulbs are specifically
excluded from the guarantee provided with this product.
