If the machine is to be transported, empty out thepetroltankandalwaysapply theplasticprotectivestripto
the cutting bar blade. If E.S.M. type, please readthe sheet enclosed.
IMPORTANT: THE PACKED MACHINE IS SUPPLIED WITH THE MOTOR WITHOUT OIL OR PETROL.
SAFETY RULES
• Readcarefully the operationandmaintenance manual enclosedw iththe machine.
• The use of the machine is prohibitedto persons under 16years of age.
• The operator is liable for damages since the machine is under his control.
• Those unfamiliar w ith the machine or w ho have never used it are obliged to read the operation and
maintenance manual before operation.
• Incaseoftransport,disassemblethebarandempty thepetrolout ofthetank.
• Ifthemachineisleft unattended,ensurethat it cannot start upagain.
• Before running the machine, the operator must have a 5meter radius of free space around him.
• Dry any petrolleaks.
• Fill up the tank w iththe motor off. Filling the tank or transferring fuel must alw ays be performed outdoors, aw ay
from flames or heat sources. Do not smoke during this operation.
• When mow ing in mountainous areas or on slopes, mow horizontally and use non-skid equipment onshoes and
w heels.
• If the blade needs replacement, observe E.S.M. operationandmaintenance procedures.
• If the bar suffers impact, check the conditionofthe bar beforeresumingw ork.
• Keep feet and hands far aw ay fromthe cutting bar and all rotating parts.
• Do not run the motor w here ex haust containing carbon monox ide may accumulate.
• Neverusethemow erincompleteorwithout itssafety device.
• Donot assemble/disassembleorcleanthecuttingbarorotherequipment withthemotorrunning.
• Caution!Whentheclutchisengagedthecuttingbarisalwaysinmotion.
• Caution! Do not mow areas w ithslopes exceeding 50%.
• We w ill not be held liable for accidents caused by the failure to observe these rules.
STARTING AND STOPPING THE POWER MOWER
Every timeyouget ready tostart themotor,makeacarefulcheckofthefollowing:
• Make sure that fuel is in the tank.
• Check the motor oil level: CAUTION: MACHINES OUT OF THE FACTORY DO NOT CONTAIN OIL IN THE MOTOR.
Makesuretoaddoiluptothelevelonthedipstick.
• CONSULTTHE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALOFTHEMOTORUNDER"BEFORE START-UP"
• Make sure oil is up to the level inthe gearbox (Picture 5 Ref. A)
• Check that all safety systems are released and functioning, especially the levers Ref. B and Ref. CPicture 6
• Pressthe"Primer"buttonthreetimesincaseofstartingwiththemotorcold(Picture1Ref.11)only versionB&S.
• Alwaysstart themotorupoutdoors.
• Bring theacceleratorhandlever(Picture6Ref. "A”) tothe"START"position,graspthecordhandle(Picture7)and
pull it slightly until you feel some resistance, thenpull harder. Make sure that the corddoes not returnby itself --
accompany it withyourhand.

• For best start-up, read the operationandmaintenance manual onthe motor under "START-UP".
• Withthemotorrunning,bringtheacceleratorlever(Picture6) tothemiddleposition.
• To make the machine go forw ardsqueeze the clutchlever (Picture 6 Ref. B). Release it slow ly andthe machine
w ill start operating, keeping the "MOTORSTOP" lever pressed
• In order to engage the bar, let the bar clutch lever dow n(Picture 6 Ref. C), by pressing it on the handle.
• To move the mow er freely forw ard or back, squeeze the w heel release lever (Picture 6 Ref. B) after squeezing
the clutchlever (Picture 6Ref. D).
• To sw itchoff the engine, move the accelerator lever (Ref. A Picture 6) to the "STOP" position.
• The mainfunctionof the lever Ref. "e" Fig. 6 is toturnoffthemotorwhenreleasingyourhandsfromthesteering
handles. Donot evertiethe"MOTORSTOP"lever"e"tothehandlebarknob.
• Every time you get ready to start the motor, check that the button "f" Fig. 6 is pressed, keeping boththe
"MOTORSTOP" lever and the clutchlever blocked.
• Beforeyoustart tomow ,checkthat themotorshutsoffw iththe"STOP"leverraised.
MOTORSTOP: lever "e" is squeezed;MOTORSTART: lever "e" is low ered
! To stop the advancement, release the lever Ref "B" Picture 6.
! To stop the mow ing bar, release the lever Ref "C" Picture 6.
! Caution! Do not non operate the w heel engage lever (Picture 6 Ref."B") and the w heel release lever (Picture 6
Ref."D") at the same time.

OPERATING AND REGULATING THE MACHINE
Before beginning to mow grease the moving bar w ith oil. Then start up the engine follow ing the directions.
# Engaging the transmissionto the wheels and the cutting bar by means oftheclutchlevermustbecarriedout
w iththe motor at a middle r.p.m. andby slow ly releasingthe lever.
# Whenstartingtomow,positiontheacceleratorleverat 3/4orat "MAX"toensureadequatepow er.
# When mow ing along a w all or the edge of a sidew alk, be careful to keepa safety distance so that the blade
does not sufferimpact.Ifnot,thecuttingbarmay undergodamage.
# If the belts are slipping, operate on the adjustment devices (Ref "E" Picture 6) w hich are onthe clutchlevers.
Leave a gap of about 5 mm before the clutch engage. To adjust the w heel releasing cable, operate on the
adjustment device "F" (Picture 6)
# It is possible to adjust the handle vertically, by acting onthe knobs that fix it to the handlebar support:two
different positions are available (Picture 8 Ref A).
# It's possible to have another little vertical adjustment of the handle, by rotating the handlebar support, after
havingloosenedthescrewsthat fix it tothetransmissionbox.Thenscrew tight again.(Ref."B"Picture5)
# Toregulatethemotor,readthemanualonthemotorunder"REGULATIONS".

MAINTENANCE
• For changing the oil and other maintenance operations onthe motor (spark plugs, air filter, regulations), refer to
themotormanualprovided.
• NB:Tounscrew theoildrainplugofthemotor,disassembletherearcover(Fig.8Ref.B).
• Make a regular check of the oil level inthe gearbox w iththe cap(Fig. 5 Ref. A) and topping up if necessary.
• Change the oil completely every 200 hours. Empty the gearbox of oil by unscrew ing the oil drainplug (Fig. 5 Ref.
C)
• Let the oil drain completely. After screw ing back the cap tightly, fill to the correct level w ith new oil
recommendedby the manufacturer. Fig. 5Ref. "A".
• If the grass is not cut in a satisfactory manner despite the adjustments, the blade must be sharpened or
replaced. For replacement as follow s :
1. Remove the cable of motor spark plug.
2. Put onapair of gloves.
3. Unscrew thegrass divider (Fig.1-Ref. “6”).
4. Loosenthe 4 knife holder.
5. Remove the blade and put the new or the sharpened one, only after having greasedit.
6. Rescrew the knife holder, adjusting theminsuchaw ay as the blade canslide w ell.
7. Fastenthe grass divider and reapply the cable of the spark plug

• For any mechanical repair, especially during the w arranty period, w e recommendtogoto aspecialisedrepair
shopof the dealer.
• For transporting convenience, the handles can be disassembled by means of the tw o knobs (Fig. 8Ref. A). The
same is recommended for the cutting bar, w hich is easily disassembledby removingthe special split pinonthe
bar support (Fig. 9). Alw ays use gloves and apply the protective stripto the blade.
• Regularly checkthat screwsaretight.Pay specialattentiontothescrew sfasteningthebartoitssupport
CAUTION
It is advised not to keep the motor running when the machine is not
being used for its specific purpose.
WARRANTY
The machines and accessories are guaranteed for 12 months, w iththe exceptionof electrical parts or parts in
rubber. The manufacturer shall replace pieces recognisedas defective free of charge. Labour and transport shall be
at the ex pense of the purchaser. Warranty requests must be made throughdealers authorisedby the
manufacturer.
Withregardtomaterials not ofourmanufacture,withspecialreferencetothemotor,theruleslaiddow nby the
respective manufacturers shall apply. Any requests for repair shall therefore be directedto the specific service
centres inthe respective areas.
For any problemor repair, contact the dealer w here the machine w as purchased.
