Installing your water lter
• It is normal for black carbon particles to appear on the outside of your lter. This

1Shut o the water supply, then turn o the water shuto valve on your
refrigerator.
2Locate the lter holder in the back upper right-hand corner of the refrigerator. To
open the lter cover, push in where indicated and the cover will drop down.
3Remove the old lter by slowly rotating it counter-clockwise. A small amount of
water may drip down.
Note: When you pull out the water lter, a little water may leak from the opening. This is
normal. To minimize the water leakage, keep the lter horizontal when you pull it out.
4Insert the new lter into the water lter holder.
5Slowly turn the new lter clockwise until it stops. The lter will click and lock into
place.
Note: The lter connectors are large to prevent leaks. You might have to twist the lter hard
to make sure that the connection is secure.
6Close the lter cover.
7 Turn on the water supply and run water through the dispenser for about ve
minutes at 0.5 gpm (about 2.5 gallons or 9.5 L) to remove any trapped air and clear
the system.
CAUTION: This lter should not be used with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of
unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
8Open the refrigerator door and make sure that no water leaks from the new lter.
Note: If leaks occur, repeat the installation steps. If leaks persist, discontinue use and call
customer service.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of property damage due to water leakage, this lter MUST be
installed in accordance with the manufacturer's specications and instructions. This lter unit
