Pump and Flow System Setup
Part 1 – Ismatec Reglo Digital Pump
Before switching the pump
on, check the voltage setting
and fuse on the backside:
220-240V: use 250mA fuses
110-120V: use 500mA fuses
Insert the 3-stop color-coded tubing into the cassettes.
Keep the SETTINGS button
pressed while switching the
pump on. This makes the
pump start in settings mode
(and blue functions above
the buttons are activated).
Cycle through the different settings
by pressing the settings button until
the display shows DSPD:
Press OK, then select FLOW with the up
arrow, press OK to confirm.
Cycle through the rest of the
settings until TUBE is shown:
Press OK, and then select correct inner
diameter 0.38 mm. Press OK to confirm.
Press escape to save settings.
When the pump tubes are dry it can
be difficult to fill the system, if so
use an external syringe or reverse
flow to fill.
Typical flow rates, for filling the
system 100-400 μl/min, for sample
exchange 25-200 μl/min.

Part 2 – Tubing connectors
The ferrule forms a tight seal as it
is deformed when being screwed
into the flow module. Place the
ferrule and connector of the tube
as shown before attaching them.
Make sure to cut the PTFE tubing
at right angles. It is recommended
to use the tube cutting device
included in the Installation set.
Note that the arrows on the top of
the module indicate the direction
of the flow for correct sample
temperature equilibration.
Use the brown adapter (the perifit)
to connect the PTFE tubing and
black threaded nut to the soft
pump tubing (expanding the
narrow bore of the pump tubing
with a pipette tip may help). If 1.5-
2mL tubes are used, the white lids
can be used to guide the tubing.
Note that the lid needs to be
vented to work properly.
Place the pump and sample holder
so that the samples are drawn
through the flow module. This
setup will reduce the need to clean
the pump tubing and prevents
leakage.
