CHAPTER 2: HARDWARE INSTALLATION
2.1 INSTALLING CENTRALPROCESSINGUNIT (CPU)
Step 1: Pull the socket lockinglever out from the socket andthen raise
thelever up to a90-degreeangle.
Special Notice:
Remove Pin Cap before installation, and make
goodpreservation for future use. When the CPU
is removed, cover the Pin Cap on the empty
socket to ensure pin legs won’t be damaged.

Step 2: Lookforthe triangular cut edge on socket, and the golden dot on
CPU should pointforwardsthistriangular cut edge.The CPU will
fitonlyin the correct orientation.

Step 3: Holdthe CPUdown firmly, and then lowerthelever to locked
position to complete the installation.
Step 4:Put the CPU Fan andheatsinkassemblyon the CPUand buckleit
on the retention frame.Connectthe CPU FAN power cableinto
the JCFAN1.This completesthe installation.

DIMM onthe slotsuch thatthenotchonthe DIMM matchesthebreak
on the Slot.

chip snapbackin place and the DIMM isproperly seated.

XGP1:Xtreme GraphicsPort Slot
ThisXGP (Extreme GraphicsPort) slotisa special design thatonly
supportscompatible AGP VGA cards.
Toinstall the system withan add-on AGP VGA card, please make
sure to install thedriver of add-on AGP VGA card beforeonboard
VGA driverinstallation.If the onboard VGAdriverhasalready been
installed before youinstall the add-on AGPVGA card, the system
will automatically set theonboard VGA asthe primary graphics
adapter.
For theonboard VGAdriver can’tberemoved completely,and to
solve thisproblem, please follow thestepsbelow,
1. Disable onboardVGA utility under the operating system,and
reboot PC.After PC restarts, the system will automatically set
theAGPVGAcard asthegraphicsadapter.
2. Or, re-install your operating system toensure theAGPVGA
card function canbeused.

Theillustration showshow to set up jumpers. When thejumper capis
placed on pins, thejumperis“close”, ifnot, thatmeansthejumperis
“open”.

Pin 1-2 Close:
JUSBV1 : +5V for USB ports at back panel (JRJ45USB1/JUSB2).
JUSBV3_1: +5V for USB ports atfront panel (JUSB3/JUSB4).
Pin 2-3 Close:
JUSBV1 : USB ports at back panel (JRJ45USB1/JUSB2) are powered by
+5V standby voltage.
