Delivery a d Locatio
DELIVERY AND INSPECTION
All Blodgett ovens are shipped in containers to
prevent damage. Upon delivery of your new oven:
DInspect the shipping container for external damĆ
age. Any evidence of damage should be noted
on the delivery receipt which must be signed by
the driver.
DUncrate the oven and check for internal damĆ
age. Carriers will accept claims for concealed
damage if notified within fifteen days of delivery
and the shipping container is retained for inĆ
spection.
The Blodgett Ove Compa y ca ot assume
respo sibility for loss or damage suffered i
tra sit. The carrier assumed full respo sibility
for delivery i good order whe the shipme t
was accepted. We are, however, prepared to
assist you if fili g a claim is ecessary.
OVEN LOCATION
The well planned and proper placement of your
oven will result in long term operator convenience
and satisfactory performance.
Be sure to place the oven in an area which is acĆ
cessible for proper operation and servicing.
It is essential that ventilation air not be obstructed
in any way if proper operation is to be assured. A
minimum of two inches (5 cm) must be maintained
between both the sides and the rear of the unit and
any wall.

Electrical Co ectio
Ovens are supplied for operation on 208 volt or
220Ć240 volt installation. The thermostat, indicator
light and related switches are interconnected
through one power source supplied to the oven.
Before making any connection to this oven, check
the rating plate attached to the bodyback to asĆ
sure that the voltage, phase and KW rating are
compatible with the electrical supply. ee diaĆ
gram.
All ovens, when installed, must be connected and
electrically grounded in accordance with local
codes, or in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code, AN I/NFPA 70-Latest
Edition and/or Canadian Electric Code C A
C22.1 as applicable.
Wiring diagrams are located on the bodyback.
The supply conduit enters through the rear of the
oven and electrical connection is made to the terĆ
minal block secured to the panel at the back of the
control compartment. Electrical connection sizes
for a double 1400 oven are shown in Electrical
Connection AWG" column of the Electrical pecifiĆ
cations found on page 2 of this manual. Wiring is
sized for 75_C copper wire at 125% of rated input.
Reference is from the National Electric Code AN I/
NFPA 70Ć Latest Edition.

Ove Assembly
Before assembly and installation of the oven,
check that all components have been received. In
addition to the oven, legs, decks and/or other acĆ
cessories may be required.

D4" (10 cm) legs are shipped inside the oven,
packed in a separate carton.
DThe decks are individually packaged and seĆ
cured to the oven back.
Double Sectio s
D4" (10 cm) legs are packed in lower sections.
Dpacer is shipped attached to the upper secĆ
tion.
Decuring plate to attach units together is loĆ
cated in the upper section.
DThe decks are packaged with each section.
LEG ATTACHMENT
1. Tip bottom oven section backward.
2. Attach each of the four legs into the nuts seĆ
cured in the oven bottom.
3. Tighten each leg and adjust the leg feet to
approximately the same height.
NOTE: Final leg fet adjustment will be reĆ
quired during the leveling operation.

Ove Assembly
STAND ASSEMBLY
1. Attach legs to stand frame. ecure with
5/16Ć18 nuts and lockwashers (4 per leg). DO
NOT TIGHTEN.
2. Place shelf on legs. Holes in legs should align
with holes in shelf corner brackets. Legs
should be loose enough to assist in this alignĆ
ment. Place 1/4Ć20 x 2Ć1/4" bolts through legs
and into shelf brackets. Bolts should fit radius
of legs. Install 1/4Ć20 nuts after all four corners
are in place. Tighten four nuts. Do not over
tighten these nuts, deformity of leg surface
can occur.
3. Tighten the sixteen 5/16Ć18 nuts installed in
tep 1. DO NOT over tighten.
4. Optional Caster Assembl - ecure caster by
tightening with a wrench. Prior to placing oven
section on stand, check that locking casters
are on front of stand assembly.
5. Center oven on stand assembly.

DOUBLE STACKING
1. Connect the spacer assembly to the bottom of
th upper unit using 4 hex bolts.
2. Align and secure the spacer connecting plate
to the lower unit using 4 sheet metal screws.
NOTE: First remove the 4 sheet metal screws
along the top edge of the lower unit
panel.
3. tack the upper unit on top of the lower unit.
4. Align and secure the spacer connecting to the
spacer assembly using 4 sheet metal screws.

Ove Assembly
DECK INSTALLATION
1. Remove the decks from the carton package.
NOTE: Handle cordierite shelves carefull to
avoid damage.
2. Open the oven door and remove the center
element assembly. The assembly is removed
by puling forward and unplugging.
3. Install one of the decks in the bottom position.
The deck should rest on the angles above the
element and should be positioned in contact
with the linerback.
4. Install the other deck in the center element asĆ
sembly on a flat surface. Reinstall the center
deck and element assembly in the oven. The
assembly is supported on four angle supports.

LEVELING THE OVEN
1415 ovens are equipped with N F listed adjustĆ
able sanitary legs.
1. Level the oven side to side and front to back
by placing a spirit level on the base frame of
the lower section.
2. Adjust the leg feet in or out as necessary.

COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
1. POWER SWITCH Ć Controls the power to the
oven.
2. DIGITAL DISPLAY Ć Displays the time, temĆ
perature and controller related information.
3. DIAL Ć Turn to set the cook time and temperaĆ
ture.
4. START/STOP KEY Ć Press to start and stop
the timing cycle.
5. TIME KEY Ć Press to enter the cook time.
6. TEMP KEY Ć Press to enter the cook temperaĆ
ture.
OPERATION
1. Toggle the POWER WITCH (1) to OVEN ON.
2. Press the TEMP KEY (6) and turn the DIAL (3)
to select the desired cook temperature.
3. When the display reads LOAD, press the TIME
KEY (5) and turn the DIAL (3) to select the deĆ
sired cook time.
4. Load product into the oven.
5. Press TART/ TOP KEY (4). The timer counts
down the set time. Upon completion of the set
time, the buzzer sounds and the display reads
DONE.
6. Press the TART/ TOP KEY (4) to silence the
buzzer.
7. To shut the oven off, toggle the POWER
WITCH (1) to OFF.

CLEANING THE OVEN
Painted and stainless steel ovens may be kept
clean and in good condition with a light oil.
1. aturate a cloth, and wipe the oven when it is
cold.
2. Dry the oven with a clean cloth.
On the stainless front or interiors, deposits of
baked on splatter may be removed with any nonĆ
toxic industrial stainless steel cleaner. Heat tint
and heavy discoloration may be removed with any
nonĆtoxic commercial oven cleaner.
1. Apply cleaners when the oven is cold, and alĆ
ways rub with the grain of the metal.
Clean Cordierite decks with a triangular scraper
used for cleaning broiler grids. IMPORTANT -
DO NOT use water or a y other liquids to clea
the deck! Due to the porosity of the Cordierite,
cracking and/or spalling will often result if water is
used.
Clean the aluminized interior portion of the oven
with a mild detergent. DO NOT use caustic soluĆ
tions such as ammonia, lye or soda ash. DO NOT
use domestic oven cleaners. Any of these prodĆ
ucts will damage the aluminum coating.

small broom or brush.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
The best preventative maintenance measures are,
the proper installation of the equipment and a proĆ
gram for routinely cleaning the ovens.
This oven requires no lubrication, however, the
venting system should be checked annually for
possible deterioration resulting from moisture and
corrosive flue products.
If maintenance or repairs are required, contact the
factory, the factory representative or a local
Blodgett service company.

LIVRAISON ET INSPECTION
Tous les fours sont expédiés en conteneurs. A la
réception de votre four Blodgett vous devez:
DVérifier que les emballages ne sont pas abimés.
Toute défection dans l'emballage doit être noĆ
tée sur l'accusé de reception de la marchanĆ
dise; celuiĆci doit être signé par le chauffeur.
Dortir le four de son emballage et vérifier son bon
état. Les transporteurs n'acceptent les réclamaĆ
tions et plaintes que si elles sont faites dans les
quinze jours qui suivent la livraison et si l'embalĆ
lage a été conservé afin d'être inspecté.

INSTALLATION DU FOUR
L'implantation correcte et bien étudiée du four
sera à l'avantage à long terme de l'opérateur et
permettra d'obtenir un rendement satisfaisant.
'assurer de placer le four dans un endroit accesĆ
sible afin de permettre un fonctionnement et un
entretien appropriés.
Il est essentiel que l'air de ventilation ne soit pas
obstruée de quelque manière que ce soit afin
d'assurer un fonctionnement optimal. Maintenir
une distance d'au moins 5 cm (2 po) entre les
deux côtés et l'arrière du four et le mur.

Raccordeme t Électrique
Les fours doivent être raccordés à un circuit de
208 V ou de 220 à 240 V. Le thermostat, le voyant
lumineux et les interrupteurs connexes sont interĆ
connectés et raccordés à la seule source électriĆ
que qui alimente le four.
Avant de procéder au raccordement des fils, vérifiĆ
er la plaque signalétique fixée sur le panneau arĆ
rière du four afin de s'assurer que la tension, la
phase et l'unité d'énergie en kilowatt soient comĆ
patibles avec la source d'alimentation électrique.
Voir le diagramme.
La mise en service doit respecter les normes locaĆ
les ou, en l'absence de tels normes, les règleĆ
ments suivants : National Electrical Code, ANSI/
NFPA 70 - dernière édition ou le Code canadien
de l'électricité CSA C22.1, selon le cas.
Les schémas de câblage sont situés sur le panĆ
neau arrière du four.
Le conduit d'alimentation passe à l'intérieur du
four par l'arrière de celui-ci et la connexion élecĆ
trique est raccordée au bloc de jonction fixé au
panneau situé à l'arrière du compartiment de
commande. Les dimensions des connexions élecĆ
triques pour un four superposé de modèle 1400
sont indiquées dans la colonne « Connexion élecĆ
trique (AWG) » des spécifications électriques préĆ
cisées à la page 2 du présent manuel. La dimenĆ
sion des fils est déterminée pour les fils de cuivre
de 75 °C à 125 % de la puissance d'entrée nomiĆ
nale (d'après la dernière édition du Code national
de l'électricité AN I/NFPA 70).

Mo tage du Four
Avant d'assembler et d'installer le four, s'assurer
d'avoir reçu tous les éléments fournis. Outre le
four, des accessoires tels que les pieds ou les
platesĆformes peuvent être requis.
Pour les sectio s simples:
DLes pieds de 10 cm (4 po) sont expédiés à l'intéĆ
rieur du four et emballés dans un carton distinct.
DLes platesĆformes sont emballées séparément
et fixées à l'arrière du four.
Pour les sectio s multiples:
DLes pieds de 10 cm (4 po) sont emballés dans
les sections inférieures du four.
DLa cale d'espacement est fixée à la section suĆ
périeure avant l'expédition.
DLa plaque de fixation servant à fixer les fours enĆ
semble est située dans la section supérieure.
DLes platesĆformes sont emballées avec chaque
section.
ASSEMBLAGE DES PIEDS
1. Incliner la section inférieure du four vers l'arĆ
rière.
2. Fixer chaque pied dans les écrous fixés au
bas du four.
3. errer chaque pied et régler les quatre pieds
jusqu'à la même hauteur.
REMARQUE:Les pieds devront être réglés à la
même hauteur une dernière fois
lors du nivellement.

Mo tage du Four
MONTAGE DU BÂTI
1. Fixer les pieds au cadre du support au moyen
des écrous 5/16Ć18 et des rondelles de bloĆ
cage (4 par pied). NE PA ERRER.
2. Placer la tablette sur les pieds et aligner les
trous dans ces derniers avec ceux des ferĆ
rures d'angle de la tablette. Laisser suffisamĆ
ment de jeu pour faciliter l'alignement. Mettre
les boulons ¼Ć20 x 2/14 po à travers les pieds
et dans les ferrures. Les boulons devraient
s'adapter au rayon des pieds. Installer les
écrous ¼Ć20 une fois les quatre coins en
place, puis serrer les quatre écrous, en évitant
de trop serrer afin de ne pas déformer la surĆ
face des pieds.
3. errer les seize écrous 5/16Ć18 (voir l'étape 1.
NE PA trop serrer.
4. Assemblage optionnel des roulettes - Fixer
les roulettes en les serrant au moyen d'une
clé. Avant de placer la section du four sur le
support, s'assurer que roulettes bloquantes
sont sur le devant du support.
5. Centrer le four sur le support.

SECTION DOUBLE
1. Raccorder l'assemblage de la cale d'espaceĆ
ment à la partie inférieure du four supérieur au
moyen de quatre boulons à tête hexagonale.
2. Aligner et fixer la plaque de raccordement de
la cale d'espacement au four inférieur au
moyen de quatre vis à tôle.
REMARQUE:Enlever d'abord les quatre vis à
tôle situées le long du bord supéĆ
rieur du panneau du four inféĆ
rieur.
3. Mettre le four supérieur sur le four inférieur.
4. Aligner et fixer la cale d'espacement qui est
raccordée à l'assemblage de la cale au
moyen de quatre vis à tôle.
