Step1Removethepackingmaterialsandpartsfromtheboxandlaythemoutforeaseofreference.
Step2Toolrequired:PhillipsScrewdriver

Assembly

Step3RemovethescrewfromtheWaterDisperser(A).Aligntheholesinthedisperserandelbowtheninsert
thescrewandtightentoensuretheWaterDisperser(A)doesn’tmove.Insertthehoseintotheotherend
oftheelbow,withtheblackadapterpointingout.AsshowninFig.4.A–4.B.


Step4 LocatePump(B)andmakesurethatitissettoitshighestflowsetting.ConnectthePump(B)tothe Hose
(I).WraptheLEDlight(B)powerwirearoundthepump.Placetheassembledunitintothecenterofthe
Bowl(C).PuttheRing(D)intothecenteroftheBowl(C).AsshowninFig.5.A‐5.B.










Step5 ConnecttheLEDlight(E)tothePump(B). LaytheRockTray(E)onthetopoftheRing(D).Makesure
thatthewirefromthePump(B)isplacedthroughthenotchinthesupportRing(D)andcontinues
outsidetheBowl(C)sothattheTransformer(B)isnotintheBowl(C).AsshowninFig.6.A‐6.B.










Step6LocatetheSlate(H)andVelcroStrips(F).RemovetheadhesivepaperfromtheVelcroStrips(E)andapply
ittothetopoftheWaterDisperser(A);seeFig.7.A–7.B.










Step7EachslateforourMoonshadowClassicisslightlyuniqueanddifferentduetothenaturalstonematerial

canreactdifferentlywitheachpieceofslate.Ifyoufollowtheseinstructionsyouwillbeabletomake
adjustmentstoyourfountainsothatitflowsproperly.




NotethatonesideoftheSlate(H)isflatandtheothersidehasachippededge.Thesidewiththechipped
edgewillhaveabetterappearanceasthe“front”whereyouwillwantyourmainwaterflow.
PositiontheSlate(H)inthemiddleoftheWater
Disperser(A),asshowninthepicturetotheright,
soitlinesupoverthecenteroftheRockDish(E).






Step8Placethefountainwhereyouwishtodisplayitandfillwithwater(distilledorpurifiedisrecommended)
toalevel¼”belowtheRockDish(E).Pluginyourpumpandobservethewaterflow.Theremaybean
initialsurgeandslightsplashingsoitisagoodideatohaveasmalltowelavailableforthissetuptowipe
upanysplashing.

YouwillfindthatifyouslightlyrotatetheslatesoitcatchesthewaterflowfromtheWaterDisperser(A)
backandforthorsidetosideitwillfindtherightpositiontooperatesmoothlyandwithoutany
splashingasshownbelow.



Onceyoudeterminethisitwillcontinuetoflownicelywithoutanysplashingandtherewillbenice
coverageontheslate.Sometimesthereisabreak‐inperiodbeforethewatercompletecoverstheSlate
(H).Youcanhelpbywipingyourfingerlightlyfromthewetpartoftheslatetothedrypart.

Step9OnlyafteryouhaveadjustedthewaterflowandpositionedtheSlate(H)shouldyouplacetherockson
theRockDish(E).Werecommendplacingthesmallerrocksaroundthelargerrocksandundertheslate.
DONOTplaceanypebblesagainsttheslateasitmightdisrupttheangleoftheslateandinterferewith
properwaterflow.



Note:Shouldyourfountainbebumped,movedorotherwisedisturbedafterthewaterflowisaligned,it
cancausetheslatetofalloutofalignmentwiththewaterflowandcausesplashing.Thisisunavoidable
duetothenatureofirregularnaturalstoneandwaterflowandyouwillneedtorealignthewaterwith
theslateasindicatedinStep8above.











Maintenance
Check your fountain regularly for the need to add water. Depending on humidity and temperature, water
will evaporate at different rates; some people may need to check their fountains daily. Waterfalls that are
placed near air conditioning vents and intakes will evaporate at a faster rate. Do not operate if low on
water. If hard water is a problem in your area, the use of distilled water will guarantee the best results. It is
recommended to drain the reservoir every three months and refill with clean water. It may be necessary to
wipe the inside of the reservoir with a clean cloth to remove any buildup. Make sure to keep you water
level ¼” from the bottom of the Rock Dish as this will insure that the pump is covered. If you run the
fountain and the water level is below the top of the pump it can burn out the pump or suck in air and cause
the fountain not to flow properly and cause splashing.
NEVER ALLOW YOUR WATER PUMP TO OPERATE DRY!
Our water pumps are designed to provide exceptional pumping capacity with minimal maintenance. Please
see the instructions below for important maintenance information:
To clean your pump, remove the intake pre-chamber (Item 1 in photo)
as shown in the picture to the right. Clean all parts thoroughly then
reassemble and reinstall in your fountain.
Pump is noisy:
Check that the pump’s output (Item 2 in photo) nozzle is
securely inserted into the fountain’s intake tube as forced water
escaping the connection may cause unwanted air bubble noise.
Make sure the pump is completely submerged. You will have to
lift the Rock Tray (E) out of the Bowl (D) to access the pump.
Fountain splashes:
Reposition rocks which will change the water stream to minimize splashing. Make sure Water
Disperser (A) and Coupling Connections (B) are secure and that the water flow adjustment control
on the Pump (C) is not positioned at its highest setting.
Water does not flow:
Make sure pump output nozzle is inserted into the rubber intake tube, pump is completely
submerged in water and that the cord is plugged into a working receptacle. Also check to see that
flow adjustment control is positioned to a middle setting or above.
Water does not flow properly onto Slate (F):
Make sure the Water Disperser (A) is not sitting at an angle above the fountain bowl (D). Adjust
and/or slide the Slate (F) along the Water Disperser (A) until it is positioned completely under the
Water Disperser (A) outlet holes so that the slate’s edges hang in line with the pipe.
Adjust the Pump Flow Control setting.


