GPS-4012Receiverisusedintemperaturelowerthan-10°Corhigherthan60°C,its
batterychargingcapabilitywilldecrease.PleaseleavetheBlumaxBluetoothGPS-4012
Receiver far from heat or high temperature environment. In addition, do not expose
yourBlumaxBluetoothGPS-4012Receiverintemperaturehigherthan140°F/60°C.If
youdonotfollowtheserules,thebatteryinsideBlumaxBluetoothGPS-4012Receiver
maybecomeheat,explodeorburnitself,andthiswillleadtoveryseriousdamage.The
LithiumbatteryinsidetheBlumaxBluetoothGPS-4012Receivershouldberecycled.

Thank you for purchasing the Blumax Bluetooth GPS-4012 Receiver, a global
positioningsystemreceiverwithBluetoothwirelesstechnology.BlumaxBluetooth
GPS-4012 Receiver is well suited to system integrations including PDA, smart
phone,TabletPCandNotebookPCwithBluetoothdevices.Itcansatisfyawide
varietyofapplicationssuchasPDAandsmartphonenavigation,automotiveve-
hicletracking,personalpositioningandsporting.Withthedimensionof72.2(L)x
46.5(W)x20(H)mmandweightonly64.7g(w/battery),BlumaxBluetoothGPS-
4012Receiverisanidealsolutiontocarryalongeverywhere.
BlumaxBluetoothGPS-4012Receiver’srechargeablebatterycansavesatellite
informationsuchasthestatusofthesatellitesignal,mostrecentlocationandthe
dataandtimeofitslastuse.Thelow-powerdesignhasextendedtheoperation
timeupto25hoursandbroughtyouthemostconvenientandlongestusageof
its kind. With the lead-free production process (starting Jan. 1, 2006), Blumax
BluetoothGPS-4012ReceiveristhemostenvironmentallyfriendlywirelessGPS
receiver in the market.
Blumax Bluetooth GPS-4012 Receiver has distinguished features others don’t
have. With our patent pending Smart Power Save Mechanism and FuzzyAuto

2� Getting started
Forthe1sttimeyouusetheBlumaxBluetoothGPS-4012Receiver,pleasecharge
batteryuntilitisfull(theLEDblinks).Takethepowercableandconnectittothe
powerjack(miniUSBtype).Thiswillbegintochargethebattery.TheLEDthat
representsthebatteryistheright-mostbatteryicon(showninbelow).
Step 1 Charging Your Battery
Pleasefollowtheprocedurestepbystep.
•IftheLEDisred,thatmeansbatterypoweriscriticallylow.Chargeimmediately.
•IftheLEDisgreen,thatmeansbatteryischargingnow.
•IftheLEDisblinking,thatmeansbatteryisfullycharged.
•WhenyouplugintotheminiUSBcabletochargeyourunit,itwilltake
5~10 seconds then you can see the green LED turning on.

3� How to test your Bluetooth GPS Receiver?
3�1 Software Installation
ThetestingprogramonlysupportstheMicrosoftWindowsCE&PocketPC
basedPDAplatform.
YouhavetorstsynchronizethePDAandyourPC,andrunthe“Setup.exe”
toexecutetheinstallationprocedureofGpsViewtestingprogram(viaPCand
ActiveSync).
Togetthisprogram,youcandownloaditatyouragent’swebsite.
1.SynchronizethePDAandyourPC. 2.Runthe“Setup.exe”.
3.Executetheinstallation.

3�2 GPS Test
OnceyouhavecompletedthesetupofyourBluetoothdevice,youmaycheckto
seeifyourGpsViewsoftwareisattemptingtoxyourposition.Youcandothis
byopeningyourGPSsoftware.Ifitfails,youshouldselectthecorrectCOMport
andBaudRate(4800~115200)tostartreceivingGPSdata.Shortly,youwillsee
theGPScoderunningasinthepicturebelow.ThissigniesthatyourBluetooth
device is functioning properly.
Note: The Bluetooth device in most of the applications has an “auto-detect”
featuresothatyoudonotneedtoselecttheBaudRate.

erlymaintainedtoensurethebestperformance.Keepinmindthesehelpfultips
when using your receiver:
- Somevehicleshavingheavymetallicsunprotectingcoatingonwindshields,
which may affect signal receptions
- Drivinginandaroundhighbuildingsmayaffectsignalreceptions.
- Drivingundertunnelsorinbuildingsmayaffectsignalreceptions.
- LowbatteryofaPDAorofanBlumaxBluetoothGPS-4012Receivermay
affect signal receptions.
